October Round-up: #DayZDaily

Recommended Posts

I'm glad to see the network bubble being finished. It looks great as I can see in the picture of how it'll work in-game. Looks like we'll be seeing a very large boost in performance in comparison to ARMA 2.

This functionality has been finished, and is tested and proven for SA.

I have an interview tonight. No doubt after months and months of unsuccessfully trying to get a job I will get this one, the standalone will release tomorrow, and I won't be able to play because adult responsibility.

I'm guessing that the launch is in the beginning of December. Let's see (tomorrow?) how the test goes.

Nooooesssssss

That could still mean it's close. He's basically confirming what the guy said, which is that they have to test it first on a wider scale and then release it, but saying November 5th is wrong. That's all.

Well Rocket did say he wanted the alpha to be good. We'll just have to wait until he's pleased with the release. A smooth alpha means a smooth ride all the way to the end.

He's only saying that because he knows that financially it would be unwise to release it too early, but similarly would it be with releasing it too late.

Dean is not an idiot (I hope not), and he's not making a product to please us--it's a business.

Rocket: I am still alive. I have been busy. Got lots of questions about "network bubble". Pic image 1000 words. http://i.imgur.com/5ezHgnh.jpg  #DayZDaily

Does this mean the network bubble thing has been completed?

I think it does.  The blue shaded area is the whole map, which represents the old system.  The red represents he current "bubble"

Well, finishing the network bubble was the last thing before Alpha launch if I remember correctly....

Network bubble is done, but rocket said that Standalone will not be released until multiplayer perfomance is stable, so that means moarrzzzzz optimization before release.

Understandable. Can anyone weigh in on how long something like performance stabilization can generally take? Is it just minor tweaking or is it a massive job?

EDIT: Obviously anything could happen to speed up or delay this process, I'm just asking if there's a very general time frame.
