Gamescom - August 2013 - Interviews/Gameplay

Recommended Posts

I logged back in for the first time in a month just to comment on this post.

Let me ask you this: How in the flaming hell are you going to get blood in the bag... WITHOUT an iv starter kit?

EDIT: Also, good to see everyone standing around here doing the same shit that they were a while back. I read the Wired magazine article that features Dean's story. It arrived in the mail yesterday and states specifically that "the game will be released this fall". So is Wired magazine wrong, or is this another "miscommunication"?

Well there is no release date so it's just pure speculation in their part.

If I had to guess at all I'd say they may be right, but then I'd make sure to communicate to people reading my words that I was guessing, unlike the shower that pass themselves of as games journalists these days.

i understand this. but it is like giving a ferrari to a 14 year old and telling him to demo it. rather give it to Jeremy Clarkson.

To be fair, IGN turned up at the public booth with no warning and wanted a demo. I get the feeling IGN treated GC like E3... but GC has two areas, public and business. Public is about pushing as many people through the stand as possible as there is big ques - so Matt was extremely busy with that and not prep'd/briefed on doing the demo for IGN. They really should have gone to the Business stand... but they probably didn't make an appointment and would have been told it was too late if they contacted the stand.

ha, good point, i was just going off the other video with rocket where he takes blood and then crafts the IV kit.

Watch from 1m30s

...

But remember, its very much a pre-alpha ;)

IV lines aren't designed to FILL a blood bag, they're designed to EMPTY one. The blood bag comes with the needle and cord required to FILL it in the plastic. The IV starter kit is a real item, used with either Saline or Blood to put into a person.

Some aviator glasses on then run around saying hecker and server/client-architecture a lot. If no one is paying attention say something about a bubble.

No one will know the difference!

I just want to say that Jeremy Clarkson is great at showmanship, but the demos and reviews he does are so biased and full of subjective rambling that they end up being absolutely pointless for anyone who actually cares about the quality of the product.

If I was in Matt's shoes, I would have declined doing a demo for IGN at that moment and direct them to where they can schedule a demo, but I guess he figured he couldn't decline one of the biggest and most well-known gaming reporter in the world and did a demo anyway.

Am I the only one concerned that his character started to feel thirsty as he took blood from someone?

Well I'm several pages late to this thread, but everything is looking better and better.  I was only able to watch a few minutes of the video but when I get home I'll watch the entire thing.

Each one of these videos though, get me more hyped for SA.

Dont know about you mate but if I had a product I was releasing and I had the potential to allow millions to see it in Europe and the rest of the  World as potential Buyers, I would have my Team peaked and switched on, ready to rock. Would even have most of them on Cocaine or Aphemtimines...................................But that's just me

yap..that's the way EA,  Bethsoft, Sony and Ubisoft handling things...and this is exactly why I am here....

but that's just me....

I can't remember who it was but somebody here really hated the green jeans when they first appeared.  That shirt's gonna send them over the edge.

Have no idea what she is saying at first, but I watched nearly all of the lisping lot of it. :P Twas good thanks SoulHunter.

It seems mabe we will need more info on what the character is feeling. Mabe something in the inventory showing a bit of thirst/hunger "meters" etc.

This has one source, pure and simple:

Simulation for damage has been moved to the server in its entirety. In SP, the DayZ mission *chugs* badly. I asked the test team just before and they have reported them being smooth to.

Basically, it makes the game run at similar to as it does in the editor.

The game is even now that smooth and runs nicely. Do you think in the future (with also the network bubble system and such) will it be able to run at constant 60 FPS with also dx11? Or you think that it is something less likely to happen?

I can get the mod to run at a constant 60 as long as I'm not in big cities. I'm quite interested in the answer to this question. If the big cities can sit consistently even in the mid 40s or somewhere in the 50s I'll be happy.

What about adding fade into quickbar if u dont switch items/weapons? Has there been any discussions about it?

Gamescom footage looks really good if u compare it to E3 build.
