I was playing DayZ Standalone and noticed that I got this very strange status effect that said "I feel a burning sensation when I pee..."Anyone got any ideas on how to fix it and what caused this in the first place??
-
@TahoeBeastSorry to scare you last night while you were off peeing.

Add gas mask aswell then... Try sprinting in sunshine, with a huge backpack, clothes, vest and rifle in hand and still be able to get the amount of oxygen to your lunges. How about poop? Peeing? Sleeping? Washing clothes? Toothbrush?.... Either it's a GAME on a console... Or it's a real life simulator.

Started fresh with a character. Started jogging north right away, 11 minutes later i came to a small village. Looted the 4-5 houses inside and since there are only one thing in each house (weird) i gathered 1 battery, 1 axe, 1 tracksuit and a boonie hat. No food or water... (???!) Continued to jogg (no running at all) north and 12 minutes later i was dead of starvation/thirst... What???? You either go all in on the realism..and i mean all in with peeing, sleeping and taking dumps aswell showering etc. etc. or you start making some changes asap. Playing this with a friend or two are the worst hassle ever...ever in a video game. An in-game map is needed yesterday, the ability to see where your friends are as dots on the map is essential. Either remove stamina all together (since all you can do on this gigantic map is jog/run) or add vehicles like tomorrow. Hunger/thirst should not even be a thing the first 24 hours...period. Or if it's such a big thing every 15 minutes, replace all those #%\$, tracksuits with food and drinks, and allow the player to start with one canteen full of water and food to get him going for the first 3-4 hours of actual gameplay. This is not a survival simulator, this is an eat and drink simulator.

Scum has just been released on PC which has pooing, peeing and vomiting in it ;)
-
I'm not your pal so stop being condescending and telling me it's stupid to have pooping and peeing... Ofcourse it is, but so is eating and drinking every damn 15-20 minutes. Why are you defending this like its the best thing happen in the game industry. IF you need to eat and drink like a mad man then sure as hell there should be consequences like stopping to pee every 30 minutes. It's not fun and it detracts from all the other things you need to do to survive. YES you need to eat, sleep, drink etc..but once every 24 hour would be enough. No? We won't get further with this since we have different opinions. So i will back off.

Its in GP, You know this right? There is a infection/disease meter...heard 21 in total different kinds when it comes into play. Pooping and peeing is utterly retarded in a game. Its funny for kids in ARK probably but dont see why you are saying it should be in the game. Pretty ridiculous. Sleeping cant work like an offline game of elder scrolls etc everybody in the server cant be at different times so how would people sleep...not like there would be a bedtime called on the server LOL think you should put this pooing and peeing business to bed though pal. Yes, Strange why you limp when thirsty but its really just exaggerated effect for the game...has to be some implications to being hungry or thirsty etc even loss of blood.
-
Btw... I would like to know why there are such a big deal with eating and drinking...but not hygien or sleeping or pooping and peeing. Why not go all in if you are so focused on realism If the above is not needed..then hunger/thirst should not be needed either. It should be fun to play..not some damn chores.

Maybe so. But i'm not alone thinking this way. Think about it, there are so much to do in this world but you need to focus on eating/drinking every 15-20 minutes. How will it be once they add more features like building, repairing cars? Imagine chopping down trees, getting wood to your base..but you need to drink and eat every 3 minutes because manual labour takes it tolls. Or trying to carry a tire or a 20lb car battery for several miles. You would need 3 people walking behind you with nothing but food and water for you to make it. It's tedious and over exaggerated... strange that you don't see this. Maybe it will be more relevant to you once they add even more features. Why can't we get more freedom to explore, learn how to set up fires, what to eat and not to eat, how to hunt, what ammo goes with what weapon, how to cook, start fires, combine stuff, gather supplies, hike for long distances, see where our friends are, learn the world with an in-game map and so on.. You can do all that now you say...but you can't. You got limited space in the rugsack, chop down some firewood, kill a chicken, carry a hatchet, some matches and a weapon and you ARE FULL....you need stuff to make/find/craft stuff..but in order to do this you have to find the biggest backpack in the game..in order to find it you need to travel faaar, in order to travel far you need waterbottles, food and a weapon, then your backpack is full and your stamina is lower by 30% and you get more thirsty and hungry because you carry more. Catch-22 is very usefull here....no? All i'm asking for (and others aswell) is to ease up on the thirst/hunger issue. I don't feel like playing the game because of this one annoying issue. Why? Because i see an awesome game world out there but it holds me back from enjoying because i need to find food, eat food, find water, drink water, find bigger backpack to have room for more water, more food so that i can eat and drink after 15 minutes. As i stated before..i love a challenge and i love hardcore games. But this is not a challenge...this is just forcing a tedious and boring UN-realistic "feature". Here is a comparison: In real life you need to put in every bullet in a magazine before you can put it in your weapon and shoot. Now take this realistic feature and put it in any shooter out there. It's doable...would it be fun? Would the majority like to sit behind cover and put each bullet in a magazine before they can put it in and continue? I doubt many would like it....but it's realistic. Not everything needs to be realistic in a realistic videogame. DayZ don't have peeing and pooping...why? If you eat and drink....it needs to come out. Why leave it out when hunger and thirst have such a big impact on your character? I tell you why...because not many would think its a good game mechanic to have to look for leafs or carry a paperroll and find a bush every 20 minutes. I will never back diwn on this heavy emphasism on eating and drinking. In my world it ruins otherwise a wonderful VIDEOGAME.

If the 'healthy' status returns. Stews / casseroles
Sooden replied to ShaneRetter's topic in Suggestions
still not feedback on improved food mechanics? I member making a post years ago :P still, now we have the elephant in the room, a recently launched alpha i will not name (may get in trouble, call its the peeing simulator :P), but they have gone full hog on such suggestions (to for if you ask me.) Always thought food and nutrition was important in survival games, even if its hidden from the player I though Dayz wished to have a nutrition system behind the scenes, after all we have vitamin bottles.. and seem to remember, just downing cans of soft drinks was gonna be bad for you. I hope such detail wont be overlooked, but if its not in the road-map by now, i guess it wont be (added: they have added down sides to canned soft drinks in the 'stress Test' version :) ) Would be nice to know (worked on it myself for a project i never finished :P) -
A quick search would have reveled a ton of already suggested pissing in dayz, arma 3 already has it. Pretty much most of it has been suggested. https://forums.dayz.com/search/?type=all&q=peeing I don't think this is a good feature at all, and it takes the devs away from many aspects we need BI to move away from. Character Animation, movement is so much more important then pissing. You could do a private modded nekkid server if you like, as long as the devs approve of it. If not find it on the chopping block.

That's my thoughts exactly, about sleeping that is. It would be annoying to log out and then, the morning after - log back in.. Then have to sleep for ages. Pooping and peeing is a simple but realistic system which would fit the game perfectly. Would be good if they could add it in.
-
Peeing and pooping has been talked to death, and I still can't figure out if they were serious or joking about adding it in at some point. Sleep I don't think could be put in as a mechanic for DayZ in a satisfactory way. Think of it this way, if you're logged out, you're sleeping.
-
Hahahaha please noooo xD I see where you're coming from, man, but I rather like things to go along with the idea that I am peeing and pooping enough in real life lol. Realism is great, mind you and I want more of it, but not that far.
-
You are taking points of various different game mechanics and throw them into, without knowing that each of them need to interact with each other but are not part of each other. There is nothing like a direct human body engine, that would smth that need players to actually fullyfie the needs of the human body and go on from there, how the energy from your food is procedd, pooping, peeing (getting a heart attack ) all kinds of this stuff. That has nothing to do with what you described, you wanted a "realistic" movement system AND an enhanced inventory system with interacts with the movement/animation speed of the movement system and medical care is a part that goes hand in hand with the damage system and and changes the things how animations or certain game mechanics are handled. Most of this is packed together in a player controller which is currently in development.

Peeing and pooing would be worth implementing if various diseases or ailments would cause you to shit more often. Like if your character contracted dysentery, you would have periodic Diariah and be at risk of becoming dehydrated. But if we have pooping just because it's "realistic", it would be a poor addition to the game.

genuinely annoyed - outhouse problems

Bruh. While the peeing and pooping system is kind of dumb, don't call us colonies. We beat you in war twice, in the late 1700s and in the 1810s. -
I feel like I'm always being watched... and I usually am.
GaryWalnuts replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
Yes definitely, the more hours I put in Ive noticed the more paranoid I've gotten. Scout a town with binocs for 10 minutes before heading in then a player pops out of shed! Was he peeing all that time? The more cautious I play the more I feel like I'm being watched too. On the other hand ... Stalking ... Following a player through a few towns without being noticed, getting close enough for an easy kill, then follow him into another town. That's a paranoid minigame in itself. I've been hoping devs would add a feature where you could throw stones that make just a bit of noise because the icon that pops up when you tap the mic is a dead giveaway. -
Someone had to go there... This would be like in Rust, "Hey, we have penises, when are you going to implement...". Then again for DayZ, it's like, "Hey, we can vomit and carve/eat people, when can we...". No, just no. No 2 girls 1 cup, no pooping, no peeing, no fisting, no human leather, no BSDM, no, just no. Jesus people. Can't we just be happy that we can eat each other?

The dev is working on pooping and peeing, there is an animation added which some hackers use from time to time, in a later update, maybe 0.54 or 0.55 pooping and peeing will be added.

Has a lack of UI actually decreased immersion in DayZ?
Thadius (DayZ) replied to scriptfactory's topic in General Discussion
You guys are overcomplicating this. All you need is a piece cloth you can tie around one or both arms with an option to custom color it with RGB values (until such time DayZ has a plethora of ingame coloring items). Right click on a stack of rags, set color to "hot pink" and give the colored rags to the rest of the crew. Tie to one or both arms. Bam. Easy group identification for up to 100m. There. It doesnt have to get more complex then that. Would I like a HUD and ingame chat and all the other amenities that other games offer? In regards to combat the widespread Hacker and Exploiter menace, i would say yes, DayZ's immersion and realism has to be sacrificed until such time their security becomes so strong, hacking is almost impossible and we, the players, no longer have to self-police. But such security measures are most likely impossible and Hackers will keep peeing all over this game for the foreseeable future. I just wish they would give us players the tools to do their job for them and make life hard for hackers in the ways we can in other games. -
Nothing on the game should not be added simply because of a fear of what hackers could or could not do. Peeing does not need to be added since I cannot see how it would be directly tied to disease.

Do you want pooping in this game?
Mookie (original) replied to Jumbaliah's topic in General Discussion
Re-read my post please. It does not take a rocket (I'm assuming that's not an intentional pun btw) scientist to see that 'realism' can be a slippery slope to a game (NB, game) with far too many mechanical processes for the player to manage, to the extent that managing them takes over from running around, exploring, looting, huntin', shootin', and fishin', and all those other things we enjoy. If we have pooping, we'll have to have peeing too btw. Never mind the griefers, imagine what the hackers will be able to do with this. Half of us will just run around being constantly incontinent... -
German army in 2000. What you have to count in there is that every male back then had to go to the army or do civil service for 10 months. There was no way for us to get deployed to what was back then "ex-yugoslavia" or somewhere else, you had to sign up for at least two years for that, I think. I was mountain troops (infantry). We also still had the G3 as standard weapon, the official weapon was already the G36, so those getting deployed got additional training for the weapons, more modern gear in general, ... there were still some companies running around with old backpacks that had no camo patterns, we all had camo mountain backpacks. We got training, did our stuff and that was it. I think it's a way to get many ppl aquainted with military service, you get large amounts of ppl that are (somewhat) ready in your population should your country get attacked. When you were done with the service you remained in a "reserve pool" and could be drafted if the situation demanded it for several more years. For many this concept seems strange, but there are plenty of countries still doing it, currently one might mention Israel. Looking at the situation there it's probably not a disadvantage for Israel to have a big group of the general population trained that way. Long monologue here, but the main thing to understand is that I do not know if the gear German soldiers got when sent somewhere had canteens out if aluminum or plastic. We had aluminum. I can not remember anyone trying to "cook" EPA package stuff (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Einmannpackung) in canteens, our "MRE-ish" stuff. I think they were guaranteed edible for 30 years. YEAH! To be honest, I think plastic canteens might be worse when it comes to keeping flavours from whatever you poured in there. I think it could be better for water though. Especially these days plastic should be cheaper in production and a bit lighter - way more interesting for armies. BTW best use of canteens ever? I say peeing in one, if neccessary multiple ppl, they are not sooo small after all. Then use it as a warm water bottle for someone suffering from hypothermia. Learned that in the army, and I don't think I'll ever forget it. Fitting for the current experimental, isn't it? EDIT: Just found that on youtube, the canteens are still the same, you can see it starting at 1m25: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQFTR1FBfPs

Yes I want pooping and peeing and farting when eating beans which also can also give away your position to zombies and humans. There should be human needs, as there is Eating and Drinking, there should also be Pooping and Peeing (non graphical) and masturbation for sexual needs (also non graphical ofcourse)
