    Hello Survivors! The Console Update 1.05 of DayZ is now live. It brings you an expansion on the disease system and introduces an advanced vaulting and climbing system. On the combat side, we've added two new pistols and one assault rifle. Furthermore, we've expanded our language support with Polish and Japanese. Get all the details and full patch notes below! New Weapons Mlock-91 The Mlock-91 is a semi-automatic pistol, fed from a detachable magazine. Affordable and compact, it is commonly used by the Chernarussian police forces. It uses 9x19mm rounds. MKII The MKII is a semi-automatic, integrally-suppressed pistol, fed from a detachable magazine. Using .22 LR rounds, it is considered both silent and lethal against short range targets without armour. KAS-74U The KAS-74U is a shortened version of the KA-74 assault rifle, usually equipped with a side-folding metal shoulder stock.     1.05 Update Coming Tomorrow 10/2/19

    If I see it today or tomorrow, I'll be sure to post a link. Curious to see what has been done (if anything) to resolve the inventory issues (incld. reloading glitches, items getting stuck in tents/vehicles, etc.) and performance enhancements especially where vehicles are concerned. Those are the two big problems I have at least with the game right now and can be quite gam-breaking at times. .....that and when weapons simply stop working (e.g. bullets do no damage). I lost my character the other night because I couldn't damage any of my zombie attackers even with the hail of bullets I sent their way. Swapped weapons which sometimes works but not this time. It's those kinds of issues I really would like to see resolved as they impact my gameplay the most.

    All BF's forced you to buy Premium to get "free" stuff. Paying for free stuff is not free, lol! If BF had a quarter of the content that Day Z has, you think that there wouldn't be bugs? You really cannot compare any other games to Day Z; Day Z has clothing with storage capacities, crafting, repairing mechanics, sickness, health, hunger, thirst, bleeding, scratching, temperature & clothing degradation mechanics, weapons spawns, weapon attachment spawns, weapon mag spawns, clothing spawns, food spawns, drink spawns, ammo spawns, backpack spawns, container spawns, random chopper crash spawns, random goat spawns, random deer spawns, random cattle spawns, random wild pig spawns, random vehicle spawns and not to mention the sheer vastness of the map. What does BF, rainbow six siege, cod, fornite, pubg, last of us, state of decay or any other competitive/survival multiplayer game have that could be compared on the same scale as day z? Zombies? Weapons and attachments? Vehicles? No one can deny that no other game contains as much as day z or comes close to the scale. Are there bugs? Of course. Could a game of this scale, no matter who was making it be expected to not have bugs? Realistically, hell no. Is the game perfect? No. Is the game amazing? If you think not, then why the hell do you still play??? I, for one absolutely love the game and I always come back. I took a couple of months off after 1.04 dropped, but now that I'm back, I am more in love with the game and the concept of the game than ever before.

    Will you ever give us the content we were supposed to receive, before you decided to squeeze out the miscarriage that was 1.0 ? It was devoid of crucial features marking dayz as “just another survival game” instead of the revolutionary game it was supposed to be . Theres still time , but the question is [bohemia], what are you doing wasting time on a map when we still need (helicopters , 2 wheeled vehicles , barricading , contaminated zones , hordes , soft skills ; medic / pilot / etc, less than lethal weapons , weed / alcohol / tobacco as currency, and much more)? Obviously we appreciate a new map but at this point we either think you can’t deliver on what you promised so many years ago , or you wont due to some unseen reasons... Either way it’s like waiting for an alpha to finish; but so much more painful knowing you already cut our alpha/beta short in favor of some quick Christmas bucks .

    Regarding content/features that was planned ages back (e.g Bears etc), will be added to the base game when the DLC releases. I jumped the gun as well but it's clarified in this post back in July: So basically we're getting bears and all the other jazz for Chernarus and if you don't buy the DLC, I'm kinda confused about the Ivy Growth because this was on the Trello years ago with the same building that's shown in the Livonia trailer. Is it just for this building or will it be for all them? (I was under the assumption back then it would dynamically grow on buildings). In regards the map, it's not going to cost the same as Arma 3 Contact. A3 Contact had it's completely own campaign with voice actors, new unique content specifically for it, new weapons and vehicles etc that justifies the price. I do think the Livonia map for DayZ needs to be €5-10 MAX since it's a port, most of the work was already done as part of Arma 3 development which was budgeted for. I could understand a new map being more expensive if it was unique to DayZ SA and had to be budgeted for resourcing and development, that's just part and parcel of project management when creating new projects.
  6. An open community letter regarding the current state of DayZ on consoles. Hey guys/gals, first off, let me start off by saying i love the game, i love the game so much i'm spending my time writing this letter which i've never done before so hear me out. This game is less than perfect right now, the current console state is unplayable, now at first i was letting this slip hoping for a fix, it's now been 4 weeks possibly longer and the game is still unplayable, i'll list all the issue's that i'm personally aware off, but it's not just game faults and bugs thats needs fixing, it's the lack of communication with the player base, the lack of care regarding said updates, as an example look at the current patch notes for 1.05. It's not even fully released for all systems and it has known issues, this is a problem. I attempted to convey this to the facebook page, and the comment was removed by the page administration team, thus forcing me to write this letter, both Twitter and facebook are probably 70% dominated by people asking for fixes to the game. An example i was driving through Cherno at 20MPH to collect a friend on my Xbox One X, my game froze, made my car crash into the wall, and ruined my radiator, i had one in the trunk of my car but it was glitched and couldn't be moved by me or my friend after re-logging. We got lucky and found a new one, but we couldn't fill it with our Gerry can of water, because that too, wouldn't move. A full release game, which is having hard copies printed to disc, should NOT be having this amount of issues, and it should 100% not be having new updates roll out with known issues, fix them before you roll the update out, please for the sake of the game. The game currently averages less than 100 thousand players, on it's main platform (Steam) this is a direct result from lack of care and communication on said issues. Players are quitting by the droves and are begging for stability and performance updates, and instead we're told there's a DLC coming, with an animal promised during Alpha developement? Really guys? That's forgetting about all the removed functions like Fishing, and Tanning, Weapons, Vehicles? The V3S and the bus was removed but you kept the truck battery in game with zero purpose? Really? The DLC map isn't even new, it's a port from Arma 3's contact DLC. Current major issues; - Servers over 50 players suffer heavy lag problems - Client crashing - Invisible loot - Visible but uninteractable loot - Cars flipping - Inconsistant persistance - Duplication issues destroying the loot economy on public/official hives - Disease/Illness systems - Database saving issues - Vehicle headlights can't be turned on - Night Vision goggles can't be worn whilst moving - Headtorch is a red light - Weather changes drops client FPS severely - Baraka Sights don't work with battery I want this game to be popular, i want this game to be loved and enjoyed, to be a success. If it carries on like this, it will be a dead game, any new adopters are immediately turned away because of the glitches.
  7. They just need to finish the damn feature log before they start bug fixing . This is how ACTUAL game developments work but of course They sold our alpha AND beta far too short so they could sell out a bunch of Christmas copies (soulless move right there). so now here we are , half of us are beckoning for the features that is supposed to make dayz different from all the other survival games out there (helicopters , 2 wheeled vehicles , barricading , contaminated zones, actual zombie hordes , soft skills to allow us to become medic , heli pilot , mechanic , etc) and the other half is asking for random ass balances that won’t really make any difference unless we get the aforementioned features that are still missing . Add the features I said above and THEN work on bug fixing and balancing because these features will add even more bugs and imbalances especially with pve and pvp so there’s truly no reason to balance until after it’s all put in .
  8. Is it just me, or are vehicles terrible, again? Of course most vehicle problems are server and ping related. It’s no coincidence that 1.05 server performance has also been pretty bad, for me. Anyone else having issues? 2 days in a row, I’ve had 3 second freezes, whilst driving, which has caused me to crash. Once it made the car fly, and killed me. Second time, it flipped the car. Vehicles were running great in 1.04... What happened?

    LOL. Guess you been living under a rock. 100 players, vehicles, no season pass, Coop campaign, brand new engine, crossplay with pc, ps4, xbox. Tactical and more realistic in present day. Yeah.. Go ahead and lie and tell me you didn't try the beta this weekend.

    1.05 NO SERVER WIPE

    I agree with your post. I just started to build a base and the worst thing about a reset would be the fact that certain items are actually hard to come by. I don't know how private servers do a wipe when they have 2 options, restart and shutdown, I can imagine the latter would server wipe, but if that's the case, no wonder so many servers are password protected. The servers should have a loot reset, rather than a server wipe, bases, barrels, tents, vehicles and chests (all kinds), should remain untouched... Everything else should get wiped, guns and ammo are easy to find, bases and vehicles (parts) are not... Bohemian need to find a better solution than clearing the map every update... You can't progress within a game when you go back to square one every few months, what's the point in playing (long term players) if you can't play... Makes you wonder why players have started to duplicate load outs and go hunting for players in packs, doesn't it, what's the point in playing to survive when you can play to shoot people for no reason knowing you'll get reset anyway. GTA doesn't do it, COD doesn't do it, Fifa doesn't do it, among others, DayZ should be no different. If it happens every update, I'll be moving to a private server or a new game myself, I'm just a fish in this water, but if I plan to do it, I'm sure there are others who think alike.

    @skJF I feel your pain. Today, I logged in to check on the Olga I assembled last night. It took me a week to find all the parts solo. The thing vanished even after I took countermeasures to prevent it being stolen. Lost 300 slots of gear to as well. This car was to help replace the fleet of vehicles my crew lost. This makes 6 now that have vanished, on a community server, with no wipe by the admin. This just sucks the fun out of the game.

    Store Firewood as a pile with persistency

    Because: 1. Storage units are rare to find (tents and chests) and vehicles are hard to assemble and maintain (vehicles). 2. In reality, you will never store firewood in your pockets, you cars, tents and or any special containers. You just pile them up. 3. Firewood takes up a lot of space in storage.

    The current wiki entry has a max of 5k units of hydration, and 20k units of energy. I can't remember off the top of my head, but it feels like the difference was greater in .62 and before. My group would routinely take a few vehicles out to a herd of cows and load up everything we could carry, bring it back to base, leave two people behind to cook and restock the food tents and tan leather, and the others would go collect the rest. IIRC, it took about 2 hours to collect, fully process, and store the average herd of cows. We ate and ate and ate until it seemed pointless, and we could run around the map for hours and hours over the course of a week without ever getting an indicator of hunger; topping off opportunistically, of course. So to summarize, eat everything, and then eat some more. Roasted meats pack the best punch overall, because of the water content, but dried meat has a better calorie to volume ratio, if your' not too concerned about hydration.

    Completely unhelpful but.. I remember playing Operation Flashpoint (Dayz's grandfather) on PC in 2001 and the vehicles would do the exact same due to lag !! I cannot believe the same issues with Bohemia games are still present today many years later. Its almost like they use the same game engine or net code to determine how these objects move in the 3D space of the game world. Even the sound effect of the car engine sounds like they just used the same one as from the Russian UAZ car from Operation Flashpoint ! Hilarious and the reason why I love Bohemia. However I don't understand how they don't get embarrassed about stuff like this that most other developers patched out of their games over a decade ago. Most modern day gamers are too young to remember bugs like this and think they're extreme. For anyone over the age of 30 with gaming experience we just accepted bugs like flying lagging cars as the norm !

    This is typical. When a server restarts, this always happens. Players will leave a server first, then vehicles, or something. I've had cases where you log out and log back in .... on top of a different car even. #bizarroworldchernarus

    Did you get out of the car before you logged out? Or did the server restart while you were in the car? Both of these cases can result in your position data reverting to when you entered the car. It's a known issue since the beginning of vehicles in SA...

    My cousin and I rented a server to play around with vehicles, crafting, guns, etc. We had not used the car for a number of days but it was fully repaired and had gear in it. Do cars despawn if they are not used for a specific amount of time or did it get stolen?

  21. The Dead Return SA is the spiritual successor of The Dead Return for Arma2:DayZMod which has been around since March, 2016. The Dead Return SA is a lightly modded server, slanted a bit toward survival and the unknown. It will NOT be a NOSTAMINA / 100xLOOT / PVPALLDAY type of server. Meh. For variety, there are extra vehicles, guns and gear. I hand-picked out some of the more interesting items from the mod packs below. For example, to keep the guns spawns manageable, I’ve stuck mostly to guns that use ammo already in the game (like 7.62×39 and 5.56×54, etc). I tweaked where some of the non-vanilla loot spawns so that everything isn’t considered Tier 3,4 and you need to go to NWAF or Tisy. I’ve also nerfed base destruction and car damage since those are 2 of the biggest issues in the vanilla game. Oh, and there are more zombies. I’m open to adding mods, but keep the previous paragraph in mind.     That's certainly the impression I got too. Just curious if there were any further details. We know it isn't Namalsk (sadly) so I wonder if it might be any of the existing maps or a complete new treatment. Interesting that they say the 'central piece is new terrain', suggesting perhaps other material included such as equipment, clothes, vehicles maybe?

This server is very close to vanilla Day Z with the exception of mods like the party system. The server experience is meant to make players put in effort for what they have. The trader experience is made more challenging and dangerous by design. All the trader zones are custom made and all the pricing and item availability are custom at each trader. The Afflicted Day Z server is designed to create tension and conflict among groups of players. This is accomplished by hardcore trader design and balanced loot tables. Key Trader Features The server features a dynamic trader system. There is no trader on the map that is a one stop shop for all of your needs. Each trader has a sell only menu. The sell only menu contains items that the trader has no stock of but will pay money for. The server has a dynamic trader economy. Certain trade zones will be wealthy or poor. The wealthy traders will give you more money for your goods and the poor traders will give you less money for those same goods. The wealthy traders have smaller safe zones than the poor traders. The most dangerous trader is Black Ridge Ordnance. There are items that are not sold at traders. These items are worth much more than other items. Trader Showcase Catatonia Safezone Size - extra large Goods offered - produce, tools, low end weapons, basic medical Economy - poor Raccoon Ridge Trapper Safezone Size - medium Goods offered - handmade clothing, meat, hunting tools Economy - poor Hillside Automotive Safezone Size - large Goods offered - vehicles, car parts Economy - average Black Bear Mill Safezone Size - medium Goods offered - logs, cut lumber Economy - average Ailton Trauma Center Safezone Size - small Goods offered - advanced medical Economy - wealthy Huckleberry Tactical Safezone Size - medium Goods offered - advanced weapons, attachments, mags, and ammo Economy - good Blackridge Ordnance Safezone Size - extremely small Goods offered - rare weapons, rare attachments, mags, unique clothing, ammo Economy - wealthy Custom Locations There are custom locations added to the map. See what you can discover 🙂 Server Rules RULE 1 - No building within 500 meters of a trader. RULE 2 - No building within 800 meters of a military complex. RULE 3 - No building with the purpose to camp spawn zones. RULE 4 - No building with the objective to block main roads. RULE 5 - No building in another players base. RULE 6 - There will be no refunds for items lost by storing them in a vehicle. Vehicles are currently buggy containers. RULE 7 - There will be no trolling at the trader zones! Example blocking people from trading. RULE 8 - There will be no racist terms, personal threats, or unnecessarily vile comments in the chat. A Violation will result in an instant ban. RULE 9 - There will be no glitching into bases via exploits. If these violations occur it will result in an instant ban! RULE 10 - There will be no duplication abuse. If there is evidence of duping all individuals involved will receive a ban. NO EXCEPTIONS! Server Exceptions EXCEPTION 1 - Players can build at castles. EXCEPTION 2 - Players are allowed to wait for people leaving the trader zones and ambush them. The server is designed to make traders dangerous.
