Is there a list of rules and conduct for this game. i.e- Stream sniping... Is it breaking any rules?

Typically, game rules are more geared towards preventing manipulating game files, or other serious alterations of the game’s core systems. Which usually end with suspensions/bans pending the severity.

Conduct within a game, especially social experiments like DayZ, allow people to play as they will.

I haven’t seen a list of rules, or a code of conduct within DayZ, only for their forums.

Negative! Only private servers may have / enforce codes of conduct and play style, but there are none for public servers.

Interesting. Good to know! I stream sniped a guy today and the salt that came off him was unreal. He had his entire stream report me for it...

It's not my fault he publicly told his viewers what stream he was in... Then continued to call everyone "bruhh"... I have to say it was fun tracking him and his 3 friends...

I mean, I understand why people think stream sniping is weak, though it’s something that’s been going on since streamings inception.

Now, him calling on his entire audience to report you, is treading on naming and shaming, which in my opinion, is weaker than stream sniping.

Just my .02

Guys abit special for telling everyone on stream what server he's on. Especially when there's no way a viewer could find out without being directly told. Poor guy, well he leant the hard way to hard mute yourself when telling team mates what server your on.

I'm not a fan of stream snipers and I don't condone anyone purposefully targeting an individual in order to ruin there gameplay experience, in fact I think it's tantamount to bullying. But that being said the streamer was as bad if not worse by telling his fans to mass report your gamer tag to Microsoft, you didn't break any microsoft T&C & certainly didn't break any DayZ Rules so if I were you I wouldn't worry too much as Microsoft won't do anything unless you break there's terms.

This is especially the case in survival games where there is no objective. Its hard to formulate a rule set unless dictated by a server owner.

I dont know why this would ever happen in dayz, but say a server host specified that PvP could only be done from 5pm-11pm weekdays, and all day weekend.

Well it would be well within the server admins right to ban someone that PvPs outside those restrictions.

DayZ never had a formalized ruleset, it more has a community and playstyle adopted role creation. Hence the terms, bambi, hero, bandit, hunter. The beauty about survival games is to play how you like, whenever you like. There is no enforcement against stream sniping, that is dealt with either the streamer or the streaming service. However, the only games I've known to enforce stream sniping as a breach of ToC is Fortnite ans PuBG on occasion. Personally, if you are watching my stream, you see my server number and you are trying to get to me, you will be looking for my exact location, and what I see. Based on that split second looking away from tv to the stream, I could get you there. If I knew you were sniping, I'd purposefully look at a wall and sound you. So it's the battle of skills.

If you get your jollies of stream sniping, well, I guess that's how you enjoy wasting your time.

Stream snipe to your hearts content. They’re mostly people who get paid in donations to play games, what more do they want? The YouTube vids of it happening are hilarious, they get so angry, like someone punched their cat. Many seem entitled like they are exempt from getting shot because they’re streamer. Or if they do then it must have been a stream sniper, It’s not much different than us average joes being KoS really, so no sympathy for em.

Nice work McPhorce!!
