Nebulae3 422 Posted June 17, 2015 (edited) - Airfield towers spawn most rare items in game so it seems - so rare and unique that you can't even see anything, except being shot at typical old sniper locations..Actually no one bother to snipe Airfields, because nothing interesting spawn at the most rare locations in-game Airfield Towers. There're only two towers on the entire map - why no rare loot? It's nothing in there except some boring cans of food under the stair1st floor in patch 0.57. Admins of Dayz I hope you read this; don't hide your rare scopes in the first hangar just east of firestation in NW Airfield. My point is dev. team - the most unique and dangerous location on the map is the Airfield towers - it should be rare loot inside to risk exploring it on full servers. - Also increase amount of players to 100+ , because the huge map feels empty with only 50/50 with the total amount of buildings you can hide now - I know it has been tested, but for good server health it should increase it in the future. - My brief view: Overall the Dayz alpha progression is amazingly great after Dean Hall resigned - almost no lag to change weapons and use items after patch 0.57 - it feels like playing a new 'survival' game - and remove unecassary fluff like (too many cows) to increase server performance! Calvin Candie 189 Posted June 17, 2015 I agree with you bud on the rarity of items vs building importance.But.Unnecessary fluff? Cows? Haha heres some beans

zeotrope 76 Posted June 18, 2015 Too soon to say if they will make the ATC's a high value loot spot. But I agree with you. The Airfields need a buff. Bring back that old feeling of paranoia like the old days. Also, not sure why the NEAF had its ATC removed.

Bororm 1156 Posted June 18, 2015 Yeah I've been spending a good deal of time at the nwaf and hardly run into anyone. A few groups here and there but they are super far between. There's not a whole lot of appeal, and I think people just go there out of habit in .57, then once they realize the loot isn't great they probably stop bothering. Same with all the mil bases really. Vehicle wrecks, new police stations, deer stands and other things like that are better sources for weapons/gear than barracks/atc/tents/jails and other military buildings currently. I'm sure they'll sort it out, but currently there feels to be a real lack of hot spots. Helicopter crashes are static, but people just server hop them, so again once people realize this stuff they stop bothering. I'm pretty curious actually what people actually are doing in .57. Calvin Candie 189 Posted June 18, 2015 Maybe the world with no apparent hot spots would not be as bad...
blacklabel79 949 Posted June 18, 2015 could we MAYBE stop discussing the current loot Distribution until the lootsplozions and stuff are fixed ? The game is pish easymode right now.
hekeetsu 86 Posted June 18, 2015 (edited) @op I like your profile pic. Also I agree that the ATC towers should spawn better loot. But the best military gear should be helicrash/some other dynamic event exclusives(+ the rare m4 in a barn that CLE "promises"), that way the hoppers wouldn't get the best stuff so easily. JPWiser 251 Posted June 18, 2015 While I can't say exactly, I do believe it's part of their plan to make NEAF less militarily oriented. An ATC at an air field/port means its military?Hopefully with the CLE they can add it back but tweak the military loot multiplier on that specific building. An airport without an ATC isn't much of an airport lol.

No it doesn't, however right now they can't differentiate between a ATC at a civilian airfield and an ATC at a military airfield. This means they would need a different "building" to be the civilian one. They are looking at fixing that with the CLE so that building X in Zone 1 will spawn one set of items and in Zone 2 can spawn a different set of items. Right now if they made it so that AKs spawned regularly in ATCs and put an ATC at the NEAF then AKs would be available there. Now the current issue with the guard houses and Loot 'splosions means AKs are sometimes available in locations they don't want them to always be available, but that is why persistence is turned off and they are testing item spawns.
Nebulae3 422 Posted June 19, 2015 (edited) The most important thing in my opinion on persistance server is an item or pack thatcan safe items after resets. ^_^ Edited June 19, 2015 by Ori42

I noticed they call the NE location an "air strip" as opposed to an "air field" so not having a dedicated ATC structure never really meant anything. (Then again, I guess Balota is called an air strip too and it has ATC...) Their air control office (in the NEAS) seems to be in the admin building attached to the hangar... and I've seen some decent stuff built up in there. We have a similar sized aerodrome here on site and they work ATC in an ATCO trailer near the ramp. It's just a radio base station with some computer monitors and enough room for a guy to sit down. This is at a 15 billion dollar facility- so I imagine it's at least par for the course with regional airstrips in "Chernarus." roguetrooper 201 Posted June 19, 2015 Special loot in airfield towers? So that admins can log out there, restart the server and grab that loot without any problems? All loot should be completely random. Especially the high value loot (whatever this may be).
Pvt_Larry (DayZ) 98 Posted June 20, 2015 Why would somebody hide/leave/store something valuable in an air control tower anyway? Doesn't make much sense to me.

Especially the high value loot (whatever this may be).I totally agree that loot should always spawn randomly. That's what will help keep the game balanced. Some people suggest making ammo and weapons rare. When all loot spawns randomly, you don't have to make anything "rare". By keeping it random everyone has an equal chance of finding loot, weapons and ammo. Problem solved. All play styles are respected. Simple. therandomredstone 432 Posted June 20, 2015 They are working on the increased server population. Loot is jacked up right now. But when it is fixed, the right things, will have the right rarity, in the right places. Have faith in your devs, will ya?
randomspawn 215 Posted June 20, 2015 Maybe the world with no apparent hot spots would not be as bad...I'm not sure. It helps avoid PVP, that is for sure. But, avoiding PVP might not be the best way to continue to build a player base for the future DAYZ. My guess is they will create some specific loot areas for specific items. They will keep some randomness in there, but you should have a higher chance of finding netting on a boat, and less likely to find it in an ATC at the NWAF. I think the Dev's want to keep some PVP in the game, as they keep adding items that are really tailored to PVP style, such as the new SVD, plus all the silencers and such. These items aren't for hunting the random cow or deer.

I agree, it need to be some hot spots for sure to create PvP events, but I'm not against it with some random spawns. The most important aspect of the loot debate is persistence on items so it saves even with server resets, because in H1z1 you can dig a hole in the ground and stash itemsyou don't want to risk in pvp. I really hope dayz can figure it out how to save items, because I tend to get bored when my character is completely geared out andI seldom die in this game. And it's not fun for me unless I'm naked again near the coast - since I can't stash or save items on my 1 week old character. We've a field shovel in Dayz now - maybe we will get a new feature to dig holes in the ground to save loot. It would be awesome! ^_^ Edited June 20, 2015 by Ori42
msadler 5 Posted June 21, 2015 Still to this day you people are playing Dayz like it is CoD or something. Stop worrying about "Rare Loot" and "weapons" Just play the system like it is meant tobe played and you all wont cry so much about loosing items or being reset. ....Fuck not again. fyi it will never be fixed.
