hum, it seems that i can't adjust the zero on kashtan scopes its locked on 400m, it almost got me killed today  <_<

If it was up to me there would be no Change Log whatsoever, get out there explore and then report back with your findings.

Damn right! I've washed ashore someplace I don't know. Hmm, lemme check my handy change log to see what's new. Right, that's realistic.

How many names do you think I've seen come and go over the last 3 years?

We've actually been lucky lately to see some exemplary new blood in here lately.

ColdAtrophy, Veyda, tux, IMT... it's fantastic to get new people who understand and contribute well, thanks!!

If only the rest of the new testers understood this process the way you do, we would have much more productive discussions.

Actually, this patch is pretty boring, content wise. Besides the SVD, it isn't offering us much new. The lootsplosions are still there, zeds and animals are basically gone, dynamic events are still static, and performance doesn't seem much better overall. The one thing it does offer is Hope. Playing exp and stable, you can see where they are trying to go, but they hit major performance roadblocks and are trying to figure it out. I don't think it will be easy, and I suspect we will have this .57 for a while. I am managing to keep it interesting by server hopping fresh restarts looking for an SVD. Beyond that, its boring.

PENS! Nobody has reported that they found a pen! How can such a useful and wanted item go completely unnoticed by the community?

Pens are spawning! I saw a few in deer huts.  

The only items I can't seem to find are batteries and mp5 buttstock, and iirc the buttstock wasn't in .57 experimental either.

Someone above mentioned pistol silencer, I have seen 2, both on the shelves inside the yellow garages (the ones that police car spawn)

Despite having checked approximately 100 gatehouses and Humvees in 0.57 Stable, I cannot find the AK Rail Handguard. I have not checked military bases much yet, but when I went to NWAF and the base north of Severograd, what I saw made me think those locations are not spawning much.

I stepped on an activated mine and all I've seen was single text notification "You've been hurt from a land mine", no explosions, no sounds, no broken legs or bleading.

Wow you must have had good boots ) I didn't hear or see anything except the "You are dead brudda"  I saw a landmine in a guard tower at the military base just north of prison island and I just backed down the ladder, I don't want to mess with them. So where did ya get hit by a landmine? I don't walk on roads and when I enter doors I try to run thru at full speed.

I've picked up a protector case recently, it's a great way to store hot food on your character without raising your body temperature.

Wow you must have had good boots ) I didn't hear or see anything except the "You are dead brudda"  I saw a landmine in a guard tower at the military base just north of prison island and I just backed down the ladder, I don't want to mess with them. So where did ya get hit by a landmine? I don't walk on roads and when I enter doors I try to run thru at full speed.

 

i tried to place and activate an damaged landmine, could not be activated but i get a message like "you are hurt by an landmine" or so.

Shoes were ruined but nothing more happened.

 

Was in one of the .57 experimental builds.

Patch is out for 4 days now and there are still no patch notes? Am I missing something? And btw some great feedback:

I have 60 fps in forests and 15 in cities with gtx970 and fx-8350 on low-normal, perfect

On the patch notes I agree with you. Eugen sent a tweet on Day of release saying patch notes were coming the next day. Now 5 days have past and it has't happened. I really don't want to hear they are not needed, they are busy, it's the weekend, whatever. I wouldn't think it would be differcult to compile and put out...especially when your have told the public that is what your going to do.

I found a pen last night and shoved it out of the way so I could grab the pistol that was hidden? underneath it. I also found a Yellow glowstick in a barracks and since there wasn't a dern thing in the barracks, it was easy to spot.

Good boots ? I had default sneakers :D

I was a new spawn and managed to find my first landmine ever, so i was like "whatever, nothing to lose let's test!"

I set it up in one of those long barns in Solnichny.

Delivering what has been acknowledged to be delivered seems to be the problem in this project.

 

If I read "update tomorrow" I sure as hell know there won't be an update tomorrow.

What is your loot experience with this patch? Mine is exactly as it was with 0.55 at the rollout: In the beginning all was fine and now (after the first hords over the fresh servers) there is no loot any more except at clothing lootplosions like prison island. No food anywhere. FEW items. Also: There are servers with absolutly NO item on them (prison island with no jacket and no pants says it all (those clothing amounts can not be taken away)). In the inland it is only a time delay of the problem. Loot is simply not spawning in high enough numbers to balance the game between crafting/hunting and looting. So far the experiences from my buddy and me.

 

 

On the server I spend the most time on the admins have to reset the server multiple times in order to get loot to spawn again.

come on guys,

 

these dudes worked all day and night to bring .57 to stable (i know, they get money for that), now they are "jumped" to LA and have more nights without sleep (don´t forget jetlag) because E3.

 

REALY, go out, play that fantastic game and trie to find out what is new. 

There will be never an "official manual" for dayZ, and for me, thats great.

 

i have to learn, to adapt, to try and fail...and finaly i will end naked on the beach to learn my lesson.

 

So, please, there is no need for an "here dudes this have we brought to you", try out and learn is enough, for me

I agree, @wasnu. I don't get why everyone is getting all bent out of shape about the lack of patch notes. Between forum posts, people datamining the game files, and actually playing the game, it has all been found and discussed.

 

As Early Access testers, we don't get the normal giant serving of a finished game which means we also won't get the "new game" experience. Instead, we get whatever is available on Stable when we begin playing and then we get patches that add a bit each time. If they spelled out every last thing that was added during each patch immediately, there would be none of the joys of discovery. One of the most fun things we all like do to on the Experimental threads is to be the first to post about something new we found in the patch and in this way we provide a microcosm of player progression for the devs to study and we get a sense of camaraderie going as we seek out everything new together. I'm glad they don't tell us shit and I'd be happiest if they never provide another changelog again. We are quite capable of figuring it all out on our own and that's half the fun.

This is being worked on, I've been back and forth with Eugene + the senior QA/Engineer and some Server Admins on & off all day.

The Devs are very busy, so the change log will come when it comes, not before, if you are unable to play because of this lack, I suggest you wait until it is posted.

Flashlights still spawn in 0.57 stable, but not batteries.

 

Found one worn in that house, and a damaged one in the house next to this one.

Were you on the upper floor? I have had legs broken or random death for being on the second floor of any building. Especially those red ones.

Yeah i was. I would assume the same but I have not experienced anything like that until now. I figured that would have been one of the first bugs to fix when bringing this out of ARMAII to make the SA, seeing it was such a large and glaring issue then. But I'll keep that in mind for the future thanx for the input.

 

You sure she didn't shoot you with a crossbow ? :-D  I remember a bug where being on the second floor of anywhere and trying to do almost anything would get you broken legs. There were many times I was on a second floor and doing absolutely nothing and got broken legs, I thought it was hackers but I'm starting to think my location fluctuated a little and it snapped my legs. Could be they fixed something that was a problem and ended up bringing that problem back?

Knowing her that is highly likely. :-D I have watched the replay one to many times now and yes, you could be correct. The unfortunate reality is that this sort of death is so similar to the old mod hack that did almost the same exact thing makes me very uneasy as i played DayZ with all the glorious script madness that occurred with the mod, and have had to take many a break from DayZ to save some sanity. I hope that this does not turn out the same way.

 

I think you're being way too quick to call hacker on that, weird shit happens in police stations.

(Like the several people I knew that broke their legs on the stairs, or the time I was prone on the roof, and suddenly started slowly floating right down through the floor until I reached the ground level, and got stuck halfway in the floor and hurt my legs]

Also don't know if telling her to log out was a good idea, but that's just my opinion. Better going for maybe safe, then not at all safe.

You are correct and i pretty well cover that in my above response's. As for telling her to log out, not a problem. Play in windowed mode and getting stuck inside any thing can be resolved by running at what ever is in your way and closing the window this will cause the game to think it has crashed and your character will continue through the obstruction and be standing on the other side when you log back in.

 

classic bug mate, happened to me many times. sometimes your legs are broken, sometimes you just die. the game fail to recognize your position on some multiple story buildings, teleporting you for a fraction of second on the floor below, causing fall damage. you actually don't see any teleportation, but your mates can see you glitching up and down sometimes, some dudes recorded this happening in a fire station.

hitting "V" when you are upstairs force the game to reactualise your position, it can prevent this bug on laggy servers.

Very helpful advice and your response along with the others is why i now think that it is possible I was not hacked. lagg + running inside + second floor = Death

 

 

Alpha Alpha Alpha. I have to keep reminding my self of that and yes I'm a little gun shy about the nefarious scripting from the mod showing up in the SA and so far this is the worst thing i have experienced in the alpha test not brought on by my own actions or some other players.

Flashlights are in 0.57 Stable. I found one in Krasnoe. Sorry, I didn't check to see if it had a battery inside.

LOL I would love to find a landmine as a bambi so I could play with it!!  I'm too paranoid to touch one after I get a few nice items. You would have to be pretty patient to set one and wait for someone to happen along and actually step on it, even on a 50/50 server.

This here is an example of what is happening to the items you think you loose when putting them down. I have lost a lot of stuff like this.
