I really could need some SKS or Mosin Ammo. Does there somebody have more than he needs?

 

I could offer a shovel (worn), every kind of seeds, gas canisters, food, repeater, sporter, p1 with silencer

9mm, 308. rounds, magnum ammo, winchester ammo, shotgun rounds, 22 rounds, 22 pistol mag, green face masks, hatched, pristine knife and FOOD. Really dude, got tons of cans tomatoes....

 

If anybody can help out i would be thankful.

Haha no , but if you look at who Ebrim was quoting and what he said , Ebrim was responding to the kids stupidity (and it is just that) of foraging ... Kiddies like sniperZ are all mad cuz they die when they look for berries so he's trying to misinform people by telling them to sprint everywhere and forget about berries , berries save lives you fools !!!

Concerning your "misinformation" about sprinting, did you really test yourself that the time saved by sprinting instead of jogging is not actually worth it when you spend it to pick apples or berries? I personally think that currently it is very well worth sprinting and in exchange looking for more apples or berries, especially as long as spam searching apples is still a thing. I survive just fine with sprinting. I got some mosin ammo we dont need... 20 rounds. Ill happily give it to you. Ill be on around 11 PST. Where are you in game? We are all good on food, but got a friend with an amphibia with no mag :).

I don't see why people complain so much, or worry about how others get food. If my squad is well-fed, my job is done. I havn't had to touch a apple tree since the last wipe on exp, we have set up farming. Plus, in the north food is abundant. So we end up having inventories full of canned food and tents full of pumpkins. I'm glad they changed it so hydration is more of an issue than starvation now, makes sense. Additionally, sprinting is something we have been doing. We havn't had a problem with starvation yet. However, hydration has been a big nuisance- in a good way. Still havn't seen a barrel... Can you at this point fill them with water? Would love to have one of those at camp.

Let's keep it nice exp peoples. As for sprinting, I can't confirm through data whether or not it's more expensive calorie-wise than jogging. It certainly seems to be but lots of things can seem to be a certain way and not be. Even if sprinting is more expensive than jogging (probably the case considering how it heats you up so much more, heat = calories), so long as someone sprinting is being smart about it and properly keeping themselves energized it's just as legitimate a strategy as jogging. At least until we see what they do with stamina/weight system. The best bet right now is not to be too dogmatic about anything and to encourage all sorts of different ways to go about things.

Where'd you find your barrel?

Been looking for one, but not had any luck whatsoever with police cars.

At a police car, not sure where. I've stopped using my phone map and just been wandering aimlessly in areas I don't know well to memorize them lately. When I found the barrel I was hauling ass in a truck heading roughly west to get it hidden before bed.

"If a time will come that 20mins of using a apple tree will be needed to survive, I will quit." does not have anything to do with your statement of "Surviving in nature will become more and more viable the more the game progresses." And nothing else he said either. Should such a time come, he will not be the only one quitting the game, a few servers per continent will then probably be enough, ergo ... that will not happen. Maybe you should uninstall the game. Might be more reasonable than telling someone who can manage without apple picking orgies to uninstall it in such a tone.

 

And never forget that we might have already experienced some of the "worst" loot situations, after all Hicks said at the beginning of the new cle experiments that loot is "supposed to be rare, not -that- rare" (https://twitter.com/hicks_206/status/587668835567804416). I do not know if that statement was only for the more harsh private shard situation or also public, but at the time most private shard servers still had some loot to live with. Still remember the char I played then.

You know why I said it at that tone? It's because he is crying that he won't play the game if food gets even scarcer. I have nothing against sitting 20 minutes at the beginning to get me started. Now either try to find food and possibly starve to death or pick apples for a while and live. When they die they will cry that there is no loot or food and that they can't find weapons. Bullshit, it's all there but people don't want to put any effort in it. They want to simply play Call of Duty.

 

You know what the devs need to do. Let us spawn with 20 k energy, 4 k water, healthy, M4A1 with everything on it, full camo gear, good backpack, you name it. Let's make the map only 25 km² so we can PvP some more.

 

The argument "there is no loot, I keep dying of starvation" is therefore invalid. Maybe there is less loot but there are a lot of options to keep you alive. If you don't want to use them then yes, I say "please uninstall the game".

Oh, I started a freshie on 1pp last night to see how impossible it is now that the servers have been running a few days. Started on a US west server, not sure which one but not the usual low pop AUS ones I play on to make sure it had seen some looting by other players. Started at roughly 4pm with a Berizio beach spawn, skirted the orchards and town along the west then north picking 6 apples in 2 stops (literally less than 2 minutes)  then hitting just the north row of houses on the outskirts of the rural part before turning north on the first decent road going that way. By 5pm I was on the east/west powerlines  a few clicks north of town still unarmed but with all my stats in the green and canned goods to spare.

 

I think there's a few people exaggerating how damn hard it is to survive thinking they're going to get their pre .55 clusterfuck pink dress wearing, broom waving, AKM drum mag spraying, log in for an hour and piss of the "hardcores" deathmatch shooter back.

I decided I'd try some walking/jogging/sprinting trials from newspawn to starving status (death? not sure yet) and decided to suicide my 3pp character with a landmine I was carrying.

 

So I setup the landmine, safely back away and hit activate.

 

Then there are messages: "landmine active in 3"..."2..."..."1..." "landmine is active".

 

Firstly, I'd never seen this before so that's cool but I still want to kill myself. So I run forward, run over the landmine and.... I get a red message: "you've been hurt by a landmine" but I noticed really no damage to speak of. There was no explosion. Must be something they're testing. Very cool though. I still put my blaze under my chin though and pulled the trigger.

You are a more patient man than I.

 

I would recommend running the same, measurable route every time, if you aren't already, to also take in to account the distance you make it. That way you can figure out rate of hunger depletion, rate of thirst depletion, distance travelled for each kj and all that fancy stuff for each state. I'm kind of thinking about testing the effect of heat and cold on the rate of thirst and energy. Obviously there's some effect, but I want to get solid numbers. Thinking I'll be able to do it with a few heat packs, a few tins of food, a couple canteens, several lives as a fresh spawn and a whole lot of time. :P
