New map: Chernobyl and Pripyat

Recommended Posts

I would say this is more of a mod-for-the-finished-game suggestion since we won't be getting any additional maps, but I like this. It's nicely done!

I'm a big fan of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series so I'm sold to those maps. Would be great to have them for the StandAlone.

We'll see how it goes, but this would be fantastic! New threat to deal with apart for the infected, diseases, players, etc. : Radiation!

I hope we hear more about DayZ in different regions.

Dean had talked about Western, Asian, and African, maps of similar sizes to be added after 1.0's release.

I hope they haven't shelved the idea.

OP, I am for different maps being added but would agree with the above quote that it is something to be looked at more for modding.

One does not simply 'add' a map.

How old is Chernarus? 6-7 years old?

Its iconic to ARMA and DayZ but the old gal is not getting bigger or smaller, but more crowded.

I would love to see a new map, the whole community would, but the effort tht would need to be put into it is so immense its is improbable at the current time.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. map and the Namalsk type maps would add some much to the game in mean of lore, roleplay, PvP, PvE, and exploring new worlds. I will always remember playing Namalsk and going to Object All and going in the tunnels and feeling like i was going to get shot instantly or get the crap scared out of me by something

It would add so much but at the same time the task would be so immense for the small dev team that it would almost bring the development to the game to a halt working on a new map.

Yea, I see new maps as add ons after DayZ is initially released as well. It would keep me playing for years. I could jump into different locations every day. I know development of new open world maps are a huge undertaking. But I am willing to stick around to see what comes.

This would be a fantastic mod for standalone when that starts to get supported.

I expect we'll see a lot of community maps when modding is introduced. Having played on this Chernobyl map I can say it has promise, but most of the buildings can't be entered, even the ones that are open. Hitboxes are wack and there's a lot of STALKER content so there's no chance this'd ever become an official map. Regardless, I'd love to see a polished version of this map, or something similar, be developed. Always thought DayZ could benefit from a grown-over look.

Really I'm looking forward to STALKER-themed maps. As much as I love Chernarus, I love the zone more.

I had a run around this map in its early days....looks to have come on in leaps and bounds.

Very cool.

I want someone to convert and edit Take On Helicopters Seattle map next.
