as in the title, someone knows when we can expect 0.56?

or at least what will be said to be fixed :) ?

My guess would be first experimental patch of 0.56 next week or after that week. Stable patch on 29th of April or 6th of May. These are just my estimates as there has been no official info except this tweet

did you noticed that 0.55 has 5 times more topics than any other patch this for me means that ppl more talking less playing and just waiting for new patch hope they at least fix everlasting hunger now after eating 3kg of berries you can die in the next 2 hours :)

Yes, I believe more people are talking about the game instead of playing it. I know I am one of those. I have loved DayZ since the beginning and thought I would stand by the devs on every decision they made but this has gotten out of hand. I have played .55 for a week and I was able to survive but I believe that is only because we had our old characters still. I F11 when my cooking pot disappeared (http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/223368-i-gave-up-on-dayz-055-humor/#entry2244423) though!

I liked the fact that if I wanted good loot then I HAD to go to military where people were ready to kill. Now you can just find all the loot you need except for food in the middle of nowhere. I know that they said they will fix it but I don't know what their "fix" is. Is it spawn rate or the location of loot. I think both would help with finding food.

They are shooting for 0.56 Experimental on Wednesday of this week, but with work ongoing for a Stable hotfix aimed at the same day, I'm skeptical. If it is made available this week, then I can see it going to Stable at the beginning of May.

 

Still not updating, my community server is still running .54 :D

Sounds like you're doing something you're not supposed to be doing.

The loot is in the process of having the 'tags' adjusted so they are configured properly. By that I mean items spawn in the correct places- military guns in military areas for example.

Information comes from all over the place (unfortunately). Your best source of information is always going to be this site because everything always trickles down eventually, but keeping tabs on what the developers say on Twitter is helpful as well. That's where I got most of what I said in my post.

 

The hotfix is mostly intended to fix the issue of loot not respawning properly on private hive servers. As of 0.55, only weapon spawns are configured based on location -- everything else spawns somewhat randomly; that issue along with silent zombies is aimed at 0.56 rather than as a fix for 0.55. What else 0.56 will include is anyone's guess at this point.

I've just stopped playing stable for the moment. This isn't the first time DayZ has been broken, and it's surely not the last.

Development needs to figure something out at some point, right?

Ouch, that was hard to watch :-(  I wonder if it was something to do with that floor the fire was on. Maybe when the meat was changing to the 1st different color from cooking, the whole fireplace dropped through the floor. Sometimes when I loose stuff like that, I have to log off and back and then I can see it again. Well done getting all that stuff together to cook though, that was an achievement in itself.

0.55 is Dayz Developers attempt to gain some publicity. Personally I believe they intentionally released the game as it is for a reason. Make it very difficult so people will talk about it aka free advertising. They are probably monitoring purchases between every update and seeing what generates the most revenue. Not the first time its been done in a market, Dayz is not so good now but I have faith in developers. Maybe they need the money for new tech, or have been working hard and are taking one update of a breather.

I also have faith in DAYZ that is why we all bought alpha and even writting on this forum but as a begginer of coding even i know that changing hunger or loot spawn it just several lines of code with var then mathematic numbers and this is what hackers do to hack so for developers should be fixed fast even before 0.56 patch

this is why i started this topic i used to play DAYZ everyday now i waiting for new update cause this update is just broken and boring just imagine how to recommend this version:

1. opening cans with knife and you can have just  few percent of it contents, there is nothing left on a floor so .. my cat ate it?

2. when you have found nice item it can be ruined by the zombie hand from different room 

3. wall hacking zombie

4. no block or push back zombie in hand on hand or melee

5. everlasting hunger - really after eating 3kg of red anb blu berries i can die from starvation in the same day ?

6. after drinking water to status full hydrated you can die form dehydration in the same day too :)

7. soundless kung fu zombie can ruined your gear with few punches

8. just 2 swing of axe can ruined 8 cans, 2 magarines, 33 bullets, and few different items from head to feet dont mentions of damage of one bullets to the wearing items on the victim

9 really the best way to find more loot is to check toilets?

10 you still can be trapped by rocks or houses

11 you still have problem to find items when you left it on a ground

12 you can find one item approx after searching 4-5 houses on public servers

Sooo is this a thread about changes coming in 0.56, or is this the one millonth thread complaining about 0.55? Because that is what it is fast turning into, and we really don't need another thread for that.

I don't recognise the 'difficulty' problem.

 

I've only been able to play .55 for the last couple of days and I've only done about 6 hours total, but to me it seems easier than before! (Apart from the zombies, that is.)

 

There's loot everywhere, and much much better loot at that. I've only been to 3 towns so far, and I've got more loot than I can carry, plus 2 tents. I've got absolutely everything I could possibly need to survive, and I haven't been anywhere near a military area. It's the most fun version I've played so far, and not because it's difficult - it's because there's loads of cool gear everywhere and the crafting options are better than ever. The zombies are much more of a challenge when agroed and melee is still a complete load of bollocks, but at least zombies can now be more easily avoided than before, as long as you keep your wits about you.

 

Yes, starvation and dehydration is still much too fast, and so are player and zombie movement speeds (MUCH too fast), but to say the game isn't improving in terms of playability seems bizarre to me. I'm having a blast.

I  prefer the silence. I think they are very very busy then. Easter holidays. I hope they are going to keep communicating more over the official Web-page and forums, instead of 3rd websites.

I found a way to stop the updates being received by my server host, so the server remains on the previous version if I like it, I saw how much .55 sucked on experimental and decided to stick with .54

1- I've used hacksaws and knives this patch and been receiving around the 80% mark from them (sometimes up to 90+% with the hacksaw), maybe try with pristine/worn items if you are having issues.

2- this is the same issue as when you can't pick up items and when you die from no where on the second floors- desynch is causing the game to think you're somewhere else. Vaulting apparently helps to solve this issue but it's not something I have had many issues with this patch.

3- again, not seen any zombies glitching through walls this patch. Best patch by far for this.

4- If you hit a zombie with a weapon it will stagger backwards a step or two so there are push backs, it just isn't a seperate button like in Dying Light. May be something done later on in development but I doubt it if the keep the stagger from impacts.

5 and 6- the game runs on accelerated time in regards to metabolism. There would be no issue with survival if you only needed to eat and drink once every few hours as you can do a complete loop of the map in that time. This isn't a bug or an issue it is part of the game design for a survival game.

7- this is a bug (the soundless zombie) and will be fixed. As for ruining gear, its been in the game since day 1 and doesn't happen all the time. Some items seem more prone to it than others- I'm looking at you, Riders Jacket.

8- this is a legacy from the Arma series where it will apply damage to an area of the body and anything in there will also take the damage. It's why shooting someone in the arm can cause their entire jacket and contents of jacket to be ruined. It may get altered as the game progresses but that would probably require seperating pockets so that they relate to different sections on the clothing and would likely put the server under a heavier workload.

9- an issue with the first iteration of central loot economy, things will be altered as items are tagged to spawn in more appropriate places. Until then enjoy wearing that poop covered jacket lol

10- I'm assuimng you mean when you log in 'under' an item, if so then it's a bug. Most games have them at full release and unless they massively affect the gameplay and are happening a lot then they won't be fixed until we move from Alpha into Beta. Think about the rubber banding issues and random server crashes from a few patches ago that were rampant on experimental and delayed the push to stable- it's that sort of bug that will be highest priority.

11- Again this could be desynch- the server thinking you were stood in a different spot or it could be that you dropped it in a tree/bush in which case chances are chopping them down will result in your object appearing. Also be careful in some buildings because loot has a habit of vanishing through the floor (not all but some) and sometimes loot appears on the floor above or below the one you are currently on e.g drop it on 1st floor it may appear on 2nd or ground floor.

12- I find many items looting in buildings, some are useful some are not, sometimes I will get 5 or 6 items in a house sometimes none. If you knew every house spawned one item it'd get too dull and boring, like last patch when everyone went I'll check this, this and this house and I'll have a gun for sure. More variety and more exploration is important to make this game feel fluid.
