Sooden

Do you think Bi will add that little bit extra when dayz is done?

Recommended Posts

Now these are ideas that have real no practical use in the game but could set it apart from the rest. (so not for suggestions)

Like if you have a backpack of soda cans, get shot at, and 'pssssss...' start spraying out soda :P

Get hit in the face, scars even eye patches (arrgh, shiver my timbers)

Going gray from stress, related to the shock mechanic.

-Proper Hard core server setting (new sever type)

that syndrome you get when you taking in to many fluids and get dizzy, (can kill you)

Cool down sock from sprinting, just like some runners get (that why you see them put in heat blankets as end of a marathon, so they don't cool to fast, has caused death)-

allergic reactions, to food, or meds, you don't know it till it happens :P

Trench-foot from wet boots

Defecation (some things a game doesn't need)

hope to see what you got :P

At Waterloo, Lord Uxbridge was on horseback next to the Duke of Wellington. While they spoke together a cannonball took his leg off.

He said : By God, sir, I have lost my leg"

Wellington said : "By God, sir, so you have!"

Lord Uxbridge fell off his horse.

i think they will focus in a DayZ 2.0 and leave the rest for us to create the wildest mods to think of....which is a good thing i would suppose.

I would love to see the awful usage and control of the caracther fixed and changed for something smooth and intuitive. Seems like obvious but since this is not in the roadmap I guess its then that "extra bit".

Urban map, urban map and an urban map. After those are implemented I also want an urban map.

Considering the ease of chernarus + being put into arma for modding i can imagine once modding is open to the SA the custom maps from arma will be applied with some work. Hopefully one of these will satisfy your urban urge because i doubt that the devs will do another map seeing its there belief cherno is the heart of dayz ( the main reason they re did it rather than do a whole new map)

Not sure how many will play with you on this urban sprawl though seeing so many complain of low frames in urban areas a huge urban map might explode some peoples PC's personally i wouldnt mind trying to play on the middle eastern city of( mind my spelling i cant spell it for shit) fallajuah..

I would like to be able to save my progress. DayZ is a game that is far too hard. When you die, you lose everything, including your dignity. A way to save your character/dignity to restore at a later point after dying would be great. Lately, I've been playing a lot of Pokémon and Zelda. These games both incorporate a save feature. If the developers of children's games know enough to add such a crucial feature to the aforementioned titles, then why doesn't Bohemia come to their senses and hop on the bandwagon?

I really can't believe the complete lack of common sense put forth by the development team.

Agreed. This game is absolutely way too hard. They need to put in a save option. I hate losing all my gear. I literally throw my mouse and keyboard whenever I die.

How on earth have they not included this yet? Autosave would be nice, as well

Yeah the engine would need to be heavily optimized. And i dont think they picked chernarus as the heart of dayz, it just happens to be the best map imo

Dude you don't know what you're talking about. It's not permadeath if you can respawn :/

There is no denying the fact this game definitely needs a tutorial and a save option. How on earth are new players going to get into a game this difficult?!

Yo Grimey Rick, good to see ya!

I bought a Gameboy just only so I could play Pokemon

The only other game I ever tried on it was Zelda .. but after 2 days I went back to Pokemon.

I still have it right here.

I used to commute on a train with a lot of guys wearing ties doing work on laptops, on their way to work.

I wore a tie too, but I played Pokemon. They used to 'look' at me even if  the music was turned right down low.

Now I have my house in the French Alps and I play DayZ and mainly work from home.

Good life. I do various things.

I don't know what happened to all those other guys with ties, maybe nothing, probably they lost all their gear.

Probably they didn't know there was no instruction manual.

I think in real life, in their heads they were playing the latest Tomb Raider, and there were little arrows to tell them which way to jump.

('scuse me, dudes, no harm... I ve played "Tomb Raider with direction arrows" too)

I have the original 8-bit Pokemon intro tune as the ring-tone on my mobile phone now.

The composer Junichi Masuda - a genius - designed this music for the Gameboy's two 8-bit sound channels and one white noise generator.

Everybody knows you can't do that. Ask anyone.

He didn't have a tutorial either:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvKoBnv96PM&index=2&list=PL61B646ED7B059AEB

I said in another thread ( http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/204242-a-new-approach-to-the-bandits-and-heros-situation/#entry2052028 )

" The main point is there will NOT be any kind of rating, or experience, or counting, or learning, or game saves, or gaining skills, or aptitudes, or points - of any kind - in DayZ SA. Ever. And as far as I know that's Final. Total. Ziltch. End.

anyone correct me if I'm wrong? "

As soon as you have any one of those things in a game you attract only players who want that thing. The advantage of DayZ is it does not have any of those things - so as a result it has all sorts of players. Some real strange players of every kind.

Just to demo how very different players are:
Heres ME - this is what I think about PvP and survival in DayZ. I guess it's not your way of thinking dudes, that's my point. You may all be players but you all bring different stuff to the game. One big reason is because there is no game save.

This is what SHAKESPEAR says about DayZ (and I mixed in a Lord of the Rings quote so you know what TOLKIEN says about DayZ too):

+ + +

" What a piece of work is a man! How noble in reason, how infinite in faculty! In form and moving how express and admirable! In action how like an Angel! in apprehension how like a god! The beauty of the world! The paragon of animals! "

" Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? "

" Death does not concern us, because as long as we exist, death is not here. And when it does come, we no longer exist. "

" For he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother; be he never so vile. This day shall gentle his condition. And gentlemen in England now abed shall think themselves accursed they were not here, and hold their manhoods cheap while any speaks that fought with us. "

" I care not .. we owe God a death and let it go which way it will, he that dies today is quit for tomorrow. "

Lower fps is not due to the amount of building but the amount of items, which would be completely eliminated (along with most desync causes, bandwitch consumption, performance issues and even some ESP hacks) by just getting rid of this loot system and adding one based on containers. You dont just enter a building and find apples behind the door and a pen on the floor, a motorbike helmet on the kitchen under the table and so on. But mostly you go in and interact with the fridge, then the server sends the info of whats into the fridge, same for the trunk of a car, wardrobes, crates, lockers, etc. So your pc (and also the bandwith of the server) only has to handle at most the 20-30 items dropped (mostly by people) on the actual floor, instead of the bazillion that must be now in a big city loading into your computer consuming bandwith, memory and fps.

Imho, this would be another "extra bit" the devs should take care of.

Game needs a tutorial, agree. Way too counterintuitive right now.

But permadeath stays at it is, thats what made DayZ a special game, the reason me, my friends and everyone I know started playing the mod and then the game. Making death a real threat instead of just a slight step backwards. Mind your steps, dont take unnecesarily risk, plus learn and accept the golden rule of this game: "never get too attached to your character or to your gear, because sooner or later, you're going to lose it":
