If i do know who's cloning equip

Recommended Posts

As topic says, if I know the names and the server of people are cloning their stuff, Can they be banned for glitching/cheating?

After all cloning in my opinion is some sort of cheat, because allow you to have an advantage over other players through a glitch.

I know that is a matter of days and all this will disapper, but when i do read things like: "Till it is not considered a cheat and it is legit to do it, i'll do it" make me mad...Because any thing in this game that allow you to being superior to others, will be abused. And good faith and fair play are just old memories...

I've not been aware of anyone being banned for cloning/duping. It is not a hack that modifies anything in the game. It's a glitch. And since cloning does not leave a trail of having modified scripts or code that can be intercepted by anti-cheat programs, it's really hard to ban people for it.

Make sure to report the issue in the feedback tracker if you know how it is done, to make it reproducable for the Devs.

This way they can fix it.

No matter how hard you try to make everything foolproof - 2.5 million players together will always find a way to abuse certain things.

exploiting inherrent weaknesses of the game without changing code shouldn't be a punishable offence.  It's like exploiting a legal loophole, or otherwise - questionable behavior, looked down upon but not especially 'wrong'.

Just like flashing the boxes in front of B doors which blinded everyone in tunnels in cs1.5, skiing in tribes, entering skyboxes in many games, hiding inside of 'downed' objects like felled trees or rubble in Arma/Dayz, etc...

The action highlights the need for change in development/alpha stage.  If they can do it whilst playing the game and no 3p programs/code then have at it (and fix it).

I'm sure it is the most know issue of making your mate inconscious and open his inventory while he's down. Then when he stands up you can loot it!

It's the most common, if it's this what you mean.

Known duplication measures were introduced into Exp  update (last Friday ?)

So, with a bit of luck...

Duping is last resort against hackers. If developers do  nothing to fight teleporting wallhacking speedhackers then what we can do when we die and lose our gear everytime? I heard in .50 patch there will be some fixes against hacking but I no longer believe Bugemia lies. Don't worry OP, sooner or later duping may be fixed, but you will still have hackers seeing you in 1km radius :)

Last night we killed a player that had some seriously duped gear, and an infinite mag in his M4. Must have been at least a hundred grenades on him. So I had my clanmate take the gear off, and we were planning to travel to Svetloyarsk on a low pop server to drop all of it inside the statue glitch so its gone forever no matter what. On the way, my clanmate decided to blow up a gas station and some walls with some of the nades. Harmless fun, with only 3 other people on the server. We blow up a few walls, and laugh. Then after a few minutes we are taking shots. I bound to cover, call out the shooter to my team, and guide them into to cover. Myself and my clanmate that has all the hacked gear are holed up inside a warehouse, with another clanmate outside overwatching. The initial shooter approaches the building and proceeds to say something like, "you duping &^%&^%'s come out and fight me you cowards.. all I have is a .22. Dont be *^*&(^'s.." blah blah blah. I would just say fuck if that was his wording, it was not. It was much worse. So in the end we killed him, took sniper fire from his friend overwatching for him, all survived and the server randomly reset mere seconds after we killed the guy.

My issue, and why I even bring this up is this: Some players are trying to approach the game with honor, and integrity. But others are so ignorant as to believe that anyone, with questionable gear must be hacking or duping. I mean this guy only saw us throw 3 grenades max. 3. Thats not a sign of duping when its 3 players, and the nades were thrown a kilometer and 5 minutes apart. Why players dont attempt to talk or educate themselves before things like this its beyond me. That guy would have been accepted with open arms if he said he hates dupers and wanted to kill us for duping. If we could have responded, he would have known our plan and probably helped. But he died. Needlessly. I lost my pants to sniper fire. We ditched the gear, and its gone forever..and that player will never know that we were not duping, but the opposite.

This is only an example, and quite an extreme one. I bring it up because Ive had players yell and scream at me over sidechat.. intent on killing me no matter what, because I must be a hacker. After all...

I had an M4.  :|

You do realize that there are hacks where people can loot stuff even if it is in textures? Or you never saw it yourself? Well, just giving you heads up then. Better to throw all hacked/duped gear into the ocean than leave it on the coast.

It is most definitely "wrong." The type of player doing the duping or other soft exploits in general is a piece of shit. No gaming community needs people that don't play fair. Take their money and ban them imo, probably too stupid to learn a lesson but at least it stings a bit.

If it were up to me I'd even ban anyone that doesn't have gamma set at default.

Thankfully private shards are coming soon so I won't have to see any of the 99% dayz players that are brain dead.

I'd have thought you'd be better off just selecting 'hide body' and the loot terminates forever?

So using the code legitimately in a way the developers didn't expect is wrong?  It's an inherrent weakness in the code, not some hack.  Unless it is a hack that you need to add to the game, or whatever, in which case it's not part of the game and they can piss off.  Did you ever play Yoshi's Island for SNES?  There was a secret level where you could farm for green life mushies... You probably didn't get the 'hardcore' experience farming 99lives, but these levels and abilities don't get in there by themselves..

But people have very different opinions on this i know.

Cut off their hands etc etc.

I had no idea duping items was legitimate. And like an idiot this entire time I've been going around picking up items one at a time, while I could have just duped a grenade and spammed them everywhere I went.

Using glitched flashbangs in CS was illegal in certain online leagues and at some LAN tournaments.

So you will be one of those people that will ban on their private when you get killed at nighttime because - obviously - the other player had to gamma exploit!

What started as one paragraph blew out, here's the first and the rest are hidden for at your liesure.

Yeah if there's a rule for it, then going against the rule is wrong.  I'm not aware of any rule from BI or BE that says you can't exploit failure of devs to plug holes in the software.  This isn't like adding script to your game code... As far as I'm concerned it's like the man shooting down the duck because he can't fly himself.

CS you used to be able to flash B-tunnel by throwing a flash into the boxes on approach to B door from CT (1.5 was the last of that i think).  Flashed the entire tunnel.  Glitch: yes.  Banning: no.

I know you and I have had different opinion on hackers and burdeon of proof (at least in game) but I'm sure you're able to tell the difference between someone breaking into the source code and altering files, and simply wriggling their character into a wall, or going through a specific set of in-game steps to remove an item without the other item disappearing from the original container.

I've said before, maybe not here, that it's dubious at best to be doing these things, and yes it does cheat the players that go the regular way.  However I don't support, nor am I aware of the authorities that be support, the forced removal and banning of players from the game for such things.  ultimately, it's an Alpha (tired and true, but hear me out)... Finding these loopholes allow the Devs to plug the hole.  I don't want to be shot by people poking out through the ATC, and i'm pretty sure this was fixed, because people found a way to do it and the devs took notice.

One time I found a fresh-spawn guy on the roof of the police station around Gorka or something a few patches back, and there were corpses all over the base of it.  I went up and he was friendly enough, and kept falling off and not dying, running up and doing it again.  He encouraged me to do the same.  I was skeptical, but didn't have much to lose.  So i did it, and sure enough I died.  Now he may have had god-hack or something i don'tk now but i'll choose to believe he found a way to not take damage (this has happened to me and friends before too) but he was able to repeat it...  I didn't go screaming and swearing at him or calling for blood (not directed specifically at you imp).  If i had taken the time to watch, tape and report the issue (not behavior) there may have been some action.

As far as i'm concerned, these people purely have an advantage over you.  The distinction between this and hacking/'cheating' is that it is the game that enables you to do this, not something else which is not 'vanilla'.  Everyone has access to this (or at least i'd expect as i don't clip through or dupe things), and those who choose not to are to be applauded, but let's not go burning our pitch and denigrating people for participating in an alpha, arguably in a way that helps everyone, ultimately.

sooooo you took glitched year ... used glitched gear ...killed players with glitched gear ... but thats all okay because you were taking it ......to glitch it out of the game  ...

im confused so its not okay to exploit a glitch to dupe items in your opinion but it is okay to exploit a glitch to remove them ....

Firstly, let me say that overall I agree..

But...

CS was not going to be fixing those "glitches" any time soon.. They were banned from league-play because they were unfair and unsportsmanlike. That's the same reason that IDEALLY, anyone who uses dupes/glitches SHOULD be banned.. IDEALLY.. In a perfect world, people who play like that should not be allowed to play because it's unfair and unsporting.

Realistically though, you're correct.
