Well... went back into Svet today and was just watching over the place when out of nowhere this fresh appears directly in my scope about 20 feet from me. Was very weird... I didn't shoot him- but suddenly he just zipped up into the sky and started taunting me. I ran away since I couldn't tell where he was... then I started getting shot until I was dead. 

 

I think that was my first actual hacker encounter... 

 

Was this 58 or 59? Hackers in 58 are literally everywhere at the moment :( Not sure how much better 59 is. I've seen folks who knew my player name without getting close enough to pulse check (i dont use text chat), guys with infinite ammo mags / bullets, newbies that shoot SVD bullets from their fists, people who knew what was in my bag without looking, people who teleport about the place, flying people, fast people, invisible people and guys who can spot you from any distance in any cover.. etc. I'm amazed this is your first :|

I don't usually go to the busy pubs... usually in a bit of a moderate pop pub. It was in .58... It was SO creepy man... I'm just sitting there scoped in on something and then suddenly there's this head filling my scope. Holy gah!

Got on .59. Went to Cherno. Got attacked by an axe-wielding idiot within the first two minutes. Left Cherno with a brand new axe.

Got killed by hackers in 0.58. Three of them by svet. I was moving away from there when i heard ak fire so i went back, lay in a tree about 300 metres away completely hidden then Bang! you are dead. I couldnt believe it, the shots where form inside town so nobody shouldve even had a reason to look at where I was but I figured it was legit til I respawned in svet, ran for my corpse and met three guys with autos. Two were identical and one was wearing my gear. I ran around, talking to them while the two with identical gear warped around for a bit. Not like desync but just moving to places in seconds. Then as I was punching the guy with my gear out I was shot.

I respawned in Cherno and a guy was swimming around in the street so I called it a night.

Spent 45 minutes trying to join an experimental server with a friend. Joined and headed for Zelenogorsk. Crashed. Spent another 10 minutes joining. Went to Zelenogorsk barracks. Met two friendly people, got some nice loot. Went into Zelenogorsk proper and ran into at least two people. They were not friendly. One of them opened fire with a Scorpion so I did the same. Neither of us died, but I was bleeding. Bandaged and had one of them try to punch me out, so I shot him with my Winchester at point blank. He didn't die. Buddy got shot at and was killed. I shot the guy with my Winchester. He didn't die. Other guy nicked my mates SKS, spam fired. I died.

 

Respawn. Somehow managed to nick a pistol from my corpse from across the map - that'll need a bug report. Headed to Berezino to find my friend, looting along the way. Found a police station that was completely untouched, got an MP5, 15rnd mag, Scorpion and mag and an extra mag for my cheaty cheaty pistol. Late so my buddy logged. Looting on my way to Berezino I get some pretty solid gear, logged outside Berezino.

I was over on the west side yo, near Myshkino (spelling?) hoping to score some dank swag yo. Experimental .59 yo, so kinda expected a high class of homey. Saw a brotha running around the tents and decided to say Hello. You know, cus experimental bros are more sophistimacated n` shzit.

 

Me: "Hey dude, how you doin`?"

 

Him: "You friendly?"

 

Me: "Sure I'm friendly"

 

Him: "Are you saying youre friendly just because you don't have a gun?"

 

Me: "I have a gun"

 

...silence

 

me: "Ok dude, you have a nice day"

 

I leave.

 

Hear him running after me and starts spraying wildly with an SMG, doesn't hit a thing, empties his magazine.

 

Me: "You suck bro, super fail"

 

Lesson learned, experimental folk aren't good folk.

I logged in near the airfield, went towards the tents and spotted a guy near the sandbag bunker. I ducked behind some bushes and not long after shots starts whizzing through the shrubbery. The guy mustve burnt through 3 mags from his ak and didnt hit me once. I hid and readied my Cr75. After a bit the guy came closer so I waited for him to pass but he basically came right at me so I took a few shots but got killed. Afterwards I remembered that I had a pum-paction shotgun on my back. Darnit. At least I didnt have anything of value for him to loot.

Interesting moment last night. Me and a friend were on our way through Komorovo and had just killed a cow that ran straight down the main street toward Kamenka. I had an AUG / couple mags and not much else aside from a tactical shirt and some hunting pants, my friend had a mosin and maybe 20 shells plus an MP5 with half a clip. I went to cut up the body so we could eat but realized i had no form of cutting tool. Just as i was joking about being sniped while i looked for stones at the edge of the road, my friend started yelling about a fully geared guy running into Komorovo from the east. I assumed he had heard the shots and started east along the coastal side of town while my friend kept watch down the main street. My friend notifies me the target has crossed the main street heading north, potentially to the well or up the north road inland. I cross town and head up a treeline to the top of the north road out of Komorovo and begin to edge down the north road back toward town, hoping to cut the guy off. Just as I'm moving back toward town i check to my right and see a tiny figure at about 300m running across the north-west field, eventually laying prone in a treeline and facing back toward town sniper style. He was facing my mate so i thought it best not to bother with small talk and just remove the threat asap. I hit him twice and he seems to move behind a tree, peeking out at me ever so slightly. Having not seen him drop yet i just keep piling bullet after bullet into the only part of him i can see as my friend approaches him to clarify. When we got to him we realized he had fallen strangely, making it appear he was still crouched behind the tree from my point of view. I think he died on the 2nd shot and everything after that just served to ruin ALL of his gear apart from his Winchester w/ Hunting Scope :lol:

 

 

I had been shooting from just on the crest of the hill up there, you can see why it looked like he never fell from my perspective. I got a shiny new Fire Axe and a Winchester which i (later) donated to my single shot com-padre who will from here be known as Red.

 

So.. having looted the only two items which weren't destroyed in my hail of gunfire we turned our attention back to our surroundings and notice another player sneaking in the opposite treeline. There is some confusion however about whether we are both looking at the same guy, since Red has disappeared and is excitedly confused when it comes to accurate descriptive powers ;) Red is killed somewhere in the opposite treeline and shortly after i see the likely perp laying just behind a shallow wall, put one round into him as he lay prone and another about neck level as he stands to run. Perp drops and i begin to move toward the corpse, confident all bad guys were dealt with.

 

I was wrong, just as i approach the 2nd corpse i take an AK shot to the leg from the top of the hill to my left and plenty more attempts whiz past my head as i turn and bolt into some trees and circle back away from the threat. That was the last time i saw any of them.

 

I hid in a nearby bush and tried to bandage but the bandages in my pants are ruined from gunfire, i pull out my stone knife (from the cow, lucky one) and cut up a ruined face-mask also from my pants pocket to no avail. End up panicking for a second before realizing i still have a green facemask on my face. Quickly chop it into rags and stem the bleeding, set to work monitoring the AO from cover until Red can get back from his Cherno spawn.

 

Red gets back to his body, finds no corpse but his MP5 was on the ground with 17rds in the mag. I give him the Winchester and we go back to cutting up the cow. With pockets full of meat we head to the police station to start a fire, but are distracted by yet another player crossing the road in front of us. He didn't look very threatening with his Makarov and his body language suggests looting rather than watchful combat awareness so i assume he is not involved in earlier happenings and approach him. Asked him to place the pistol in it's holster a few times and he complies, where-upon Red politely asks him for his Bag, Vest and Boots. Guy complies and it's all very friendly, we exchange pleasantries and discuss how much nicer it is to Bandit without all the KoS nonsense.

 

This is where it gets even more bizarre..

 

As Red is happily mugging our new friend i notice a freshie dressed in all green log in a few meters from us in the field. He has no weapons visible and all starter gear so i'm not too worried and tell Red to stay with current target and I'll keep an eye on new guy. Freshie just stands there looking around a bunch, hasn't noticed the 3 of us in the road yet. As he eventually moves toward the road he comes face to face with me and my AUG, along with instructions to stay at distance while we complete our business with first guy, to which he complies.

 

We let first guy go on his way having swapped his bag for Red's and requisitioned his vest and boots, he leaves quickly and is never seen again. Freshie on the other hand is asking if we have any food because he's hungry and explaining to us he literally just bought DayZ and this is his first time logging in ever. A quick check of his steam profile confirms he has about 20 minutes in game ever so we set to work giving him some of our beef (couldn't remember if beef still makes you sick, so figured he'd make a perfectly good test subject) and hooking him up with a Trumpet w/ 12rds and the knowledge to make fire with a stone knife. He is friendly and thankful for all the help, we swap steam info and direct him to Pavlovo military base (he had said he wanted to go there). Last i heard from him the beef didn't hurt him, but he was sick from accidentally sewing himself up with a sewing kit instead of fixing his hat :lol:.

 

Fun evening, 2 kills, 1 loss, 1 mugging & 1 new friend who logged in at exactly the right time and place for once :beans:

 

EDIT : Used to think the AUG was junk, have reconsidered based on this experience.

I logged in on the running man server, turned out I was on top of triple yellow in cherno with a bambi character. There was a military tent up there so seems some hacksters had played around. A few other people turned up and I died from something, dont know what. I respawned in Svet and ran around collecting rags when a guy with a stick appeared, asking me to be his apprentice. When I refused being the apprentice of a squealer he killed me with one poke of his stick. I respawned in cherno and went to the NW airfield where i was shot by some not talkative people. I respawned in berezino and went all the way to cherno, killing a few people with my chainsaw. One of the kills was a bit crappy as I thought the guy said "kill me" but he was actually saying "dont kill me". I couldnt hear it over the roar of the chainsaw and my maniacal laughter. Then I ran out of gas so I legged it. I found a guy crawling in the middle of the road with broken legs, at first I thought he said "kill me" but it turns out he wasn't. So I gave him a stick and a repeater instead. I miss my chainsaw :(

On my way to set up a new camp with a buddy of mine, and while running through the woods i see a car tent set up.

Me: "is that your camp?"

HIm: "my camp is nowhere near here.... so i guess that tent is yours now!"

there was nothing inside so i proceed to fold it up and take it to his camp where we shared some supplies. about an hour later i jump to a different server to get away from his camp and go loot more stuff, when i find another camp 100 feet away. 3 barrels and a truck, filled to the brim with gear! so i spent the next hour moving the barrels and most of the loot over to a different server and now i have a nice pile of stuff. i left an apology note just to be nice. but i really didnt feel too bad. 

just a tip, dont make camp next to a landmark. such as a feedshack that is a loot drop. 

was able to nab 5 protector cases a couple med bags, a magnum. a pile of various ammo, and lots of food. got 3 tire repair kits and a spare tire lol. was also a ton of camping supplies (as i call them) such as gas(propane) canisters, gas lamps and stoves, pots, pans, knives. lot sof random tools to that dont have a use yet.

Something unusual happened. I went to the NW airfield and as I was leaving the Quonset hut a guy runs up and attacks me. I heard him a split second before so we exchanged a mag or so at eachother in the trees and I got hit and had to hide. I wasnt bleeding so i just reloaded and waited. After a while the guy starts talking over comms but I cant locate him so I reply with text. It turns out he and his mate got attacked just before and thought I was the culprit. After a bit we decide to be friendly instead, so we and his friend chat for a bit then go our separate ways. More of such things plz.

was looting at myshkino tents, was on my way out and get sniped by someone with a winchester, i run into the woods and get shot at by someone with a shotgun. i get hit by one or the other, but keep running. 10 mins of zigzagging later the sniper is still shooting at me and there is a guy chasing me with a shotty missing every shot. i duck behind a group of pinetrees and bandage, then pull my m4 out and as i do the sniper finally hits me again and knocks me out. then "you are dead"  the entire time it sounded like the guy chasing me was trying to talk to me... thanks for shooting on sight.

Pretty good first time playing again since the release of fallout 4. I jump on and start my usual loot route and find a trumpet and later on a magnum with 357s nearby. later on i walk into a small town and see a guy. he didn't outright attack me so i gave a simple "hey" and kept looting. suddenly him and a friend of his with a crowbar start attcking me. figures. but i have the gun. I try to puit some distance between me and them and after some time i suceed and shoot one but he only gets wounded before he's too close. I do some more running around and manage to jump a fence and sure enough one follows ( i assume the other went to bandage) and i gun him down and pick what isn't ruined off of him. I loot the town a bit more until i see someone else. Surprise surprise the friend is still there. he runs into a house and i follow him in. I knew he was waiting by the door with his crowbar raised so i walk in and bait him out. Once again i succeed and gun him down and pick off his sporter and some food and go on my merry way.

 

I must've been not too far from electro. I was walking next to an area with lots of rocks on a big hill thinking no one would have the angle to shoot me. It may have been best to stick to the road as suddenly, I was shot. fortunately just a magnum like me. i took one more to the leg before i manage to duck in between some boulders. I sit and wait for my attacker to come and finish me off. and then i see him. He doesn't know where i am. I pop off a few shots but due to desync or just bad luck none land. he works his way around the boulders and i continue aiming. he goes around the back and i turn and shoot him 3 times and he falls dead, but he manages to get off one shot and kills me. Hell of a time that was.  Later on i'm looting a small town and see a guy fighting off plenty of zeds with an axe. i go out to provide him with assistance with my newfound skorpion. I kill a few and we both end up ducking inside of the station killing what we could. there i loot an mp5k and even a mag for it and he gets a rak with a mag i had found. I make a new friend and we bolt off into the woods far away from the mass amount of zombies that had built up there. I bid him goodbye and get off for a while.

 

not much happened after that when i got on later. 2 guys tried to kill me as i ran through electro. fortunately they were terrible shots and i got away with no issues.

How about just pay some attention when you don't know someone? DayZ is better if you change it up a bit once in a while and you'll find shooting everyone gets boring after a while. Just make sure to only leave the keyboard to smoke when you are in the company of trusted friends ;)
