(except for rubberbanding or server crashing at the wrong moment).Me either. Yet my buddy had it happen to him TWICE in less than 10 minutes last night on the same server. It's related how you need to sometimes try to open the door couple of times. It's a discrepancy between the state the server thinks the door is in and what state the client thinks the door is in. Zed's believe the server side state to be true so they might walk through seemingly closed doors or stop at seemingly open doors. Vent: I wish people who contributed to this thread would follow and read the entire thread so we don't keep repeating the same bugs/reports. If you followed the thread closely like I do, you would find this disjointed "conversation" pointlessly repetitive. To the guy who KoS'd me as I was about to bandage, you could of EASILY robbed me or simply asked for my stuff if that's what you wanted. I didn't shoot, only observed them for a few seconds, but then one of them was looking/aiming (probably with a scope rifle) in my direction so I ran again and vanished in the woodland, hehe. The "image"-button in this forums posting-window (or how you call it) -> didn´t work. Opening with other programs and copy-pasting it here -> didn´t work. I really start to question my general ability to work a pc... :o :huh:Please someone tell me that it´s a bug which is NOT happening between my ears! PLZ!! Anyway, I´m off to work now. If someone might post any suggestions to help me with my plight, I will thankfully monitor them from work (don´t tell them!!!) and try to make it happen tonight!you have to make sure you are using a .jpg url to show the picture. Well, I hid a green mountain backpack in the forest. Logged out and back in, it was still there, but then the server crashed and when I logged back in it was gone. Sharplooter 98 Posted September 16, 2014 (edited) Persistence don't work at all even my tent was gone after a restart, I was nearby and could check it. Leaving a backpack log out and back in (without server restarts) is normal since many months/builds, but I wouldn't call that really persistence. It's "good enough". ☣BioHaze☣ 7337 Posted September 16, 2014 Either I have bad timing logging into servers about to restart or the server DC issue is not completely ironed out. Yesterday I was murdered on East - 01 and logging in an entire day later I still got a 30 second respawn timer. Though melee is improved I have noticed that swinging my fire axe head-on at zeds is completely missing and you HAVE to get to either side of them or behind them to land a hit. After my first server reset/DC I logged into a server I had not been on in a few a days and the hive spat out a character I thought had been glitch wiped. This build works like the builds months ago -> no persistence at all. This is in fact a huge setback from 0.48... If I am honest I don't care every (new) survival feature in DayZ any longer when persistence don't work. Without persistence Dayz become completly useless for me and nothing else than a more complex CoD. When you are good with gear/op, lets go to a shootout, because nothing else to do... this is so stupidly and shallow-brained boring after that many months. Why can't we have persistence at least for tents and backpacks (except ruined ones) on an interim basis? That would be a good compromise, if persistence for everything is failed for now. Edit: I divine something, devs probably can't fix duping atm if backpacks are persistent? Ok then plz give us the ability to make stashes like in the Mod... at least the shovel would have finally any sense in this game... I can see really no reason that the build we have now couldn't go stable. One little odd thing I've noticed, which may or may not be WAD, the blue tracksuit seems to operate as a raincoat. My mind tells me -> lets test 0.49 EXP also at least one day with persistence before pushing it to stable. I am so wrong? Not the ones that are like a moving part of the forest texture and can only be seen by you and not your friends, but a real little entity. And a pretty damn quick one, be assured! :) Was a really nice experience hunting down that little fella. After spotting him first, which is a mayor task to begin with, because of his tiny size he almost completely vanishes in the grass, I lost sight of him when he dashed into some bushes. Took me nearly 10min of sneaking around before finding him again. Really looking forward to the implementing of the rabbit snare trap, that should make getting rabbit leg for dinner much easier. ;) I can´t really remember seeing to much pictures of these yet, so I thought I might share some with you. [ten minutes of rustling and heavy swearing]........ Ok, sorry. For some freaking reason I´m not capable of posting pictures here, all I get is: "An error occurredYou are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." Perhaps I´ll give it another try in the evening... Get GIMP 2 ; ( Free program ) http://www.gimp.org/ Open the image, and export it as .JPG....Done. You simply tried to embed a wrong file format in your post, perhaps .bmp? Dump your screenshot into MSPaint and save it as .jpg and you should be fine. you have to make sure you are using a .jpg url to show the picture. (except for rubberbanding or server crashing at the wrong moment). Ladders used to be a big issue when DayZ first dropped, admittedly they're a lot better now. But as an example, the ladders on the building next to Vybor Smoke Stack/Chimney always injure my character when I reach the top. Weirdly, after testing this with friends only last week, only some of us were effected, some weren't. We all walked up to the base of the ladder, scrollwheeled to climb and just pressed "W" to climb to the top. Every time a couple of the guys and myself reach the top, our screen flicks white for a split second and multiple times, pants have been damaged and/or ruined :wacko: It's very strange. As for stairs, well they seem to frickin hate me. Twice dead in Novo clock tower, casually walking up and "Your Leg Is In Pain"...... "You Are Dead". 2 times instantaneous death on steps in construction sites and one death just walking close to a construction site (I wasn't even IN the site), and one broken leg in a school on the stairs in 0.49 Exp.I've tried walking, weapon in hand, empty hands, jogging, sprinting, crouch walking....... e.t.c.. I hope to join the club someday soon :) I am really, really satisfied with 0.49 as it sits. I mean sure it's far from perfect as all versions up to this point have been, but as far as all the builds of 0.49 have been, 124959 has been the best. Once they flip the switch and turn persistence back on again, it will feel much more survival-ey. I saw the absolute worst of the environment try and take me down over the course of testing the different 0.49 builds: temperature, hunger, zombies, physics, and many of my human beings. It's been fun :D Here I am tonight enjoying what I hope to be the last hours of this build on experimental with a friend, in a barn, in the middle of a field... in the middle of nowhere, in a thunderstorm, in a highly populated server.
