Yesterdays update was 980-ish MB, so one would assume 1.1 GB is the update Hicks mentioned yesterday for the "AM".

 

I doubt it. I haven't gotten any updates since that announcement and I've restarted steam twice.

Same problem, got the 1.1GB update and still CTD within 30 seconds of loading every time.

 

New .exe aint out yet. The bigger size is due to the patch that was this morning that fixed health system.

Same here, CTD after playing for a couple of minutes.

 

What's weird is that it seems to happen for most players at the same time.

 

I just logged in a server and saw something like this:

 

Player X is losing connection.

Player X is losing connection.

Player X is losing connection.

Player X is losing connection.

Player X is losing connection.

 

All five at the same time...

Have you already had the CTD version from yesterday evening ~6PM GMT ?

 

Picked up my latest version around 22:00 GMT last night.  Was unable to play.  Pity, I had a pink balaclava and a cattle prod...

 The new exe hasn't been published yet.

So you mean they are beginning get as fast as pushing 3 versions out in the matter of 24h ? XD

Yup. It happens. As long as we get something that works I think we can wait, knowing they are trying to fix it.

The patch that fixed health system (the latest one) is the one that had a "faulty" exe, that cause people to crash. We are all sitting in the same boat waiting for the proper one. :)

As stated in the latest status report:

 

We will be pushing rapid updates to experimental and iterating 0.49 until the build is in a state ready for stable branch

 

As you can see, they are taking the "rapid" part very serious. :)

I got the patch with the faulty exe yesterday evening just when they published it ... thats the one that also made the Zs aggro again...

nvm, false alarm, let them work :beans:

Everyone: Before you assume a new update got pushed, check here first. You will see a Depot update to "manifests/experimental" (as opposed to experimentalprep)

Otherwise, sometimes Steam is just updating other files.

So.... not run Steam for about a week and did so last night which picked up a ~400Mb DayZ update. Is this a fucked update then? Do I bother playing it or is it going to crash?

tried playing on experimental 3 times since the latest update to the update yesterday, and it still crashes the game out in less than 5 minutes

I would wait to be honest, it crashes allot and I have not been able to play longer than 5 minutes.

 

 

Ok, thanks. My football manager season is developing into an absolute whopper so I have something to keep my mind off waiting for an update.

So.... not run Steam for about a week and did so last night which picked up a ~400Mb DayZ update. Is this a fucked update then? Do I bother playing it or is it going to crash?

 

We're all waiting for an update that fixes the crashes to desktop...

No point in trying to play atm ...

According to the map the new dev blog showed, the mystery about where the balota military camp will be moved, seems to be revealed (and my personal suggestion has come true) - the very north-west corner of the map!

That base isn't new, it's been there for quite a few builds now. At least the groundwork for it has been there. I wouldn't say it's a given that the new base near Tisy (the one you're referring to) is a replacement for the one at Balota. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but the fact that it's labeled on the map doesn't confirm it for me. One interesting thing to note that's related: did you notice the base near Pavlovo isn't labeled anymore either? ;) I'm wondering if that was just an error or if it's really going to go away. I rather liked that base... unlike the camp at Balota it was actually unique being hidden in the woods. I can see them taking both of those away and combining their assets in one location, but it doesn't seem right to me that it's so close to the existing NWAF. It's a cool location, for sure, but it seems redundant. Between those two in the SW and the NEAF being neutered, all the military assets will be in the NW. I guess I could learn to live with it, but it will make seeking out military items MUCH more risky.

It was a 1.1 GB update when I switched to experimental from stable yesterday afternoon. This isn't the new update.

Ok, that might very well be. I just never noticed it before I traveled up there and stumbled across it.  :) And you´re completely right, there is no way to tell yet, if Tisy has anything to do with "moving balota military camp further inland". But my understanding was, that this map pretty much shows the final version of what the devs are planing in regards to country-side. And since I just wasn´t able to find any other changes to the map that might indicate "new" military buildings, I just jumped to that conclusion... Perhaps I missed something on the map, perhaps I´m over-interpreting, who knows.

Perhaps the desperate waiting for the update/fix for experimental just makes me see things...   :huh:  ;)
