I take it it has nothing to do with the source code hack?

Hicks posted the following on Reddit:

All of BI's titles are on a very brief sale I believe, because of today being the 15 year anniversary of the studio.
(Hence 15%)

I still think it's incredibly lame though.

Yeah isnt it kind of counter productive to the whole "we will be saving more money" by buying the early access model.....? >.>

This isnt right. Usually those who buy it on early release get it cheaper or get a better deal for supporting a game. Look at Insurgency they gave ALL early release buyers a free key to give to their friends!

Yeah, let's be honest, if it's on steam, there is going to be many hefty discounts in it's life cycle.

Well IMO a BI game or not, discounts on slowly progessing Alpha game that is already discounted to begin with is not a good sign.

Still bs.

Had I know that Dayz would be this garbage back when it first came out and that it would be cheaper today I would have easily held off and purchased it today.

Seriously don't know why you'd have a problem with it?

I'm thinking of getting Carrier Command, Take on Mars and Take on Seattle.

Absolutely.

Arma 3 is so worth it. Even at 15 percent off stand alone is not. Atleast not yet.

My opinion, or rather logic, making it not really an opinion and closer to a fact, is this is BULLSHIT.

We have been told that the game will go up in price not down. It's a sale, sure.. limited time.  But, I'm sure anyone with half a brain understands the slippery slope concept.

I would like to remind Bohemia that if you piss off the day z fans, it won't just effect day z, we all know you're involved in this. And you have our trust, don't ruin the game.

That being said,  hope it gets more sales for you to do more work on it.

I totally forgot Carrier Command was by BI! I used to love the original version on the Atari ST back in the day!

thats steam.... alot of developers arent happy with this model.

Yeah cause it really contradicts everything that has been said by the developer on the payment model.

Then imagine how I feel, I bought Operation Flashpoint in 2001 and in today's birthday spirit, they are offering it for free.

It's a slap in the face.

The DayZ discount is only $4.50, or roughly what kichi charges for a back alley Cleveland Steamer. Not that big of a deal.
