New Experimental?

Something i've noticed, sometimes the "eat" and "eat all" options will stop appearing and the on menus.

 

Only way i've been able to solve this is relogging.

 

This seems to occur to me only when there is some desync going on. As soon as it disappears the options return. I haven't experienced it outside of that.

 

But the eating process is behaving a bit strangely. It takes a very long time to "Eat all" a can of beans, but theres no munching sounds, and it is not until some time after the eating animation has stopped that the "You have eaten all the beans" message (and its health effects) appears.

Anyone noticed that they have changed zombie spawning? When you kill a zombie the corpse seems to stay on the ground and no new zombie pops up out of nowhere?

A zombie or more might still pop up nearby, seen it first hand. But yes the Zeds corpses are left on ground a lot longer, you can loot them too but yet to find anything on them....

So tested Exp. Servers last night.. 100,75 and a 60 player. Wow I was amazed how smooth they all ran. No...I repeat... No rubberbanding at all. Tho did have one session time out while playing on the server Hicks was on.

Not a fan of the accel time tho. Also seems like there was a graphic update..things looked better. Nothing I could point my finger at...but it seemed more crisp..clear.

My only complaint is that at dusk as the sun is going down if you look towards the sun it gets darker..if you put your back to it..things get really bright..or if you are in the woods its brighter than open field. It seems backwards.

Throwing stuff seems useless unless it causes damage...which I didn't notice as a friend and I hurled can after can at each other. Alittle disappointing...I mean...whats the point of throwing stuff then? Yes I get we need physics for other stuffs. But its not really tactical bacon if I CAN'T knock someone unconscious now is it?

As for mouse movement I never had problems...after this update I had to LOWER sensitivity. It was stupid fast, I'm sure some others will welcome that.

In all a good update, things are a bit better. The big servers are a blast. Need less KOS but what are you gonna do...its DayZ!

Before the change I've had my sensitivity sliders all the way down, now I've had to lower them through windows even more because it was stupid fast.  Felt like I was playing Tribes again.

I'm running a resolution of 4960x1600 so I need alittle more speed...but after that update it was insanely fast.

BTW DEVS...you prolly dont hear this enough...Great Job.

I am having no problem with the improved mouse movement, it behaves just like freelook with alt key for me which is ideal. I am using a Logitech G400S at 3000 DPI. I use 4000 DPI on stable because the game punishes me by locking up my movement all the time.

I played on one of the 100man servers today for a bit. Ended up creating a boxing ring where newspawns fought for batteries.

 

I got a lot of batteries.  <_<

 

 

BTW DEVS...you prolly dont hear this enough...Great Job.

They will add cooking in, but will they also add hunting and animals? Otherwise why would we need cooking? Just read about cooking nothing about animals.

I finally found a shotgun to see the implementation of weapons lagging behind when turning - I love it. I know others think differently, but I think dragging the mouse to a certain point should also result in the character turning always the same. The lagging because of the weight of weapons/gear should not influence this in my opinion, because it practically takes the trained skill out for players that actually have any. And I don't neccessarily count myself as one but anyway. Of course I did not think to test this before sawing it, but I saw it with the sawed off. Really great!

Zeds are insaaane. I love it. I was forced to use a shotgun on two that came out of nowhere where I had never seen them spawn before, the burnt out church in the woods. I can't figure out how to throw stuff, or was that taken out before I got on?

 

Other than that, I like it. Server resets and logging haven't wiped my char yet either, glad I can finally enjoy the night :beans:

My experience so far I have rubber banded a bit so still problem with that for me or what ever. Zombies messed my face up so I kind of love/hate zombie durability from a fire axe attack. In this one incident it forced me to use my gun because the damn thing broke my arm and I was bleed like a stuck pig. Going back in for a swim right now.

So I finally managed to find a 7 round mag for the 1911 on the experimental branch. It was a bit difficult to insert into the pistol, but I think I managed to nail it with a bit of blunt force:

After finding this little gem i wanted a mag for it.

Let's just say it took me a while, found like all pistol mags i did not need (.22/ZR75/FNX/.44 speedloader)

When i finaly found 1 ....it did not fit so wel.

even longer server hop penalty?

 

people do realise that there are other reasons to leave a server right? for example the server lagging like f*cking crazy

 

i would love to see a server performance tab on the server browser, not just ping and the amount of people then, please

Natural Selection 2 has something like that

Yeah, I had a "Session Lost", and when I logged in someplace else got the penalty.  Kinda bogus for that kind of thing but I get it.  Keeps folks from the "server jump ambush" exploit since t will take awhile to get back now.

I chucked a hammer at an approaching zombie and saw blood spatter when I hit it, it then took me three hits with fists to get him down for good.  Not exactly sure if it did damage or I had some lucky hits though, seems the hammer took some damage though since I could have sworn it was only damaged but when I retrieved it was badly damaged.  I would love to have a hatchet to throw, that would be fun, especially if it sticks out of the forehead.

 

If you look at sunrise it gets darker too, just as you experienced with sunset, that is kind of a bother and I wish sunglasses would mitigate that, is that the goal?

 

I have rubber banded and did a lag dive through a staircase (HATE THAT) in a fire station and died, respawned near that location, made my way back and tried to loot the body, it was a no go.  That said I am a long ass way from the nearest server. To bad too, that toon was fully geared had survived some douche shooting it in the face at the NE airfield, patching myself up and getting out of that Mexican standoff since the guy was a crappy shot and only knocked me out, a super tense night of looting the tent city at NW airfield (that had my adrenaline pumping and my dog nearly gave a heart attack when she jumped up barking at something outside the house).   That said I am a long ass way from the nearest server.

 

On a hardcore server I had a toon lag dive through the walkway of a warehouse and die, I was stopped and in the process of having painted and replacing components on my M4.  I could see that I was on the floor before I respawned, there was no one there and really no reason for that toon to fall like that  That was annoying as all get out.

I found a quiver, but was not able to equip it with dragging it on the character. Just now I thought that maybe those things are like magazines with guns...I certainly did not think of that ingame. And then I shot a dude on neaf with a Blaze. First time shooting a Blaze - that thing is not bad, 1 shot kill (or at least unconcious, I only looted the guy very quickly and went on). But he did actually have a crossbow - no bolts though. Nevertheless I almost regret not taking it, if I had the quiver I would have.

 

The lagging of the Blaze when turing is really great. I love the precise movement as it is now, with the gun lagging behind. The Blaze lags quite a bit, the sawed off shotgun already less, if memory serves right, and an FNX is there practically instantly. The devs really deserve some beans for that.

 

Sadly I had some waiting times with inventory and quickslots. I was on an experimental server marked with the new messaging system's text but the inventory and quickslots were not better than on stable. Open door indicators also needed some time to come sometimes. There were maybe 30 people on the server at the beginning, I did not check later. Well it is experimental, maybe the new messaging system was just disabled at the moment, yesterday I had a system more responsive than ever before... .

I put on some boots yesterday and my leg.. well it had a boot attached to it, and a stump of a bone sticking out with no foot. I think I took a photo.. let me see
