lumo1234 68 Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) Says the guy/girl who just whined. This is coming from a console using child. Have a nice day. I stated a fact. I did not whine. I also didnt say all console users are children, i personally own a PS3 and plan on owning a PS4 when more titles release for it but you cannot deny a fast number of console users are children. You yourself for example just told me you're a child :) I will also have a nice day thank you very much :) You too Edited March 28, 2014 by lumo1234

dallas 5195 Posted March 28, 2014 I don't really care, as it's not going to affect the development of the standalone and it's not going to happen for a foreseeable future.
Murlough 192 Posted March 28, 2014 ^ I did see an article that Dean was 'hopeful' in the next gen consoles. Long article short he said it would only be after DayZ standalone made it to 1.0.
vvidovvmaker 16 Posted March 28, 2014 It is already watered down man. The weapon dispersion, the arcade damage and ballistics are all the console watered down influence bro. Now I may be crazy but I have a hunch they are not done with the above mentioned items. Also, contrary to popular belief shouldering and firing a 5.56 round in rapid sucsession isn't nearly as easy as battlefield, COD etc make it out to be. Having weapons fire and land exactly where the crosshair is isn't realistic by any standards unless you are a very well trained/experienced shooter. Many talk about having great MOA at firing ranges in real life, few if any of those firing ranges have moving erratic targets that don't follow a specific path. The stress of gunning down another human during a KOS or even in a defensive engagement would not allow for the pin-point accuracy that 99% of shooters allow. Even with the "heavy breathing" effect while zoomed in while playing games like bf etc does nothing to simulate the stress you would be under not to mention the composure you would need to pull the trigger. I like the fact that when random people pick up a militarized weapon like an m4; or any gun for that matter, they aren't able to use it as if they were a highly trained navy seal that shoots thousands of rounds in target practise a month. That said, things like the fnx shoot atrociously and the others do seem to need at least a little more polishing. My main thought here is if the devs cause the weapons to shoot at their "full capability" or even close to, it ignores the human variable. What if.........similar to the conversation about beards growing as you age your marksman ship improves as you live in the apocalyptic world of Cherno? Not dramatically, just enough to start getting steadier on target first couple shots etc. These are my thoughts and opinions, now have your way with them! Cute Carl Grimes 84 Posted March 28, 2014 Only if PC gamers can play with them so we can show them that PC is master race.
Murlough 192 Posted March 28, 2014 I play almost every platform out there. I just think day z would be a waste of resources and money to put on console. Not many people would buy it. The console crowd generally goes for things like COD. So fast paced easy to play games. Not that there is anything wrong with games like that, I play COD on xbox too, it just means games like dayz have a reduced market unless they dumb down the game a ton. I guess im one of the few on consoles who enjoy other games :/. MAYBE ITS A SIGN! Anyway i would definatly buy dayz for a console but im not positive others would follow suit. Maybe i just need to start saving for a PC.
doctorbadsign 645 Posted March 28, 2014 I don't see why everyone cares so much Other than to dish out their unwarranted "people with PC's are better" rhetoric. I have not a single care in the world whether or not DayZ comes to consoles

Geckofrog7 1168 Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) But look at the graphics...might just as well run DayZ on a 500€ PC ( http://www.gamespot.com/reviews/operation-flashpoint-elite-review/1900-6140901/ ) That's how it looked on pc too, lol. I have been hunting for over 20 years and almost never miss a shot. I go bird hunting with my semi-auto .22 AR15 sometimes just for a challenge. I have never been to an actual range where they have nice padded arm rests on a nice flat surface and you shoot at unobstructed nice bright targets in and open field so don't really care about things like MOA. Where I'm from our firing range is out in the middle of the forest and we shoot whatever random things we can while standing on the berm of an uneven dirt ditch. I also am a former professional FPS player and have won many a tournament and have been playing "shooters" since I was 2 in the 80's. The fact that I can't shoot a gun straight in a videogame because they wanted to take skill out of the equation pisses me off to no end and is the sole reason I quit BF3 and never touched BF4. There are other ways to simulate your character "not being experienced" other than making it so your bullets don't go where you sights are aimed. These things can be overcome with skill; simulating every gun having a bent barrel and no rifling not so much. Edited March 28, 2014 by Weedz

ig-rage 78 Posted March 28, 2014 Wow i just finished reading the commentes and there is clearly no love for consoles... im almost ashamed of having a different opinion.how don't you have a computer yet? and if you're not buying one why you lurking on these forums? just some questions nothing meant by it... Murlough 192 Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) Its the Dayz forums not the PC forums. Like i said i dont own a PC yet ive never seriously thought about playing on anything but a console. It always seemed like an alien thing to do for me so i just sruck with it. I play DayZ on my friends PC sometimes (like once every two weeks) anyway i love the game so i enjoy following the forums. I will always be a console player (as far as i can tell) but will hopefully make the jump to pc in the not-so-distant future. And no problem with questions man. You have a nice day too xP. Also i dont know if im lurking or not... more like stalking with a positive attitude. Edited March 28, 2014 by Murlough
Murlough 192 Posted March 28, 2014 This is just my opinion but i think the biggest issue for a peasent console player is the thought of paying more money for parts than just waiting for next console. Plus im not exactly the most spec savy dude in the world. Id love to join you all in the master race but owning aand mantaing a usable pc just seems like a hassle. gibonez 3633 Posted March 28, 2014 Still the best game ever. (En mi opinion) Skyrim was good but it was so watered down because of consoles. So dumbed down. Morrowind remains the best Elderscrolls game.
makomachine 263 Posted March 28, 2014 Got a custom built PC (i7 4770K/780Ti) and an Xbox One. Each has their purpose and their strengths. This game is just not meant for the console environment - at least not this generation anyway. Whatever would be implemented will water down the experience and take away some of the things that are so cool about it.

I hope they water down the PC version too and wash out a good portion of the KoS while they are at it... That's how it looked on pc too, lol. Nah...wasn't that blurry. Blur is the only way to keep decent fps on consoles.
hannibaldaplaya 1095 Posted March 29, 2014 No thanks, DayZ is a PC Master Race gem. Don't let the dirty console gamers get their hands on it, we'll have more people who want it be like COD.
BadAsh (DayZ) 1513 Posted March 29, 2014 (edited) In my close to 30 years of computer gaming (I am old fashioned and prefer "computer gaming" over video gaming as a term) experience I have never bothered and wont ever bother with consoles. They are the bane of games, designed for the lowest common demoninator. Nothing good will ever come of them. Edited March 29, 2014 by BadAsh
