Would you like DayZ on Console?

Recommended Posts

^ this is the day I cannot wait for.. Dayz SA mods. Oh how glorious that day will be..

console version will have limited MP. (server size)

you will pay a premium membership fee to play the game online.

you will have to learn to play it with a controller.

there will be no mods, no modded servers, no private hives.

Only if they have a separate team from those developing DayZ for the PC. We don't need a dumped down PC experience because they put 50% of their resources making it for consoles. Which IMO are garbage shit anyways.

there will be no mods

This, and fucking thank god.

What i think this is only my opinion though, i believe that the game should be on Console The Developers would be crazy not to put a Console Port. It will give the Dev's an inside look at What Console players want if they want something new and fresh to play, because we all know At the moment most of the console players are playing C.O.D and Battlefield the Fast Pace Shooters. There hasn't  been many Open world Multiplayer Survival games like DayZ On the Console. Who Knows maybe there is a Fan Base for survival open world games on the console that we don't know of. We may Never know. Unless the risk is made to bring it out on Console Once the full game comes out. Many will properly say if they want a Open world survival game like DayZ Just buy a PC, but i can assure you now not everybody wants to spend a bucket load of cash to play a single game like DayZ.

But this is my opinion, there will be people that hate my idea, there will be people that like my idea, i understand

Hold on, we got two threads about this?

*Edit*

NVM, the other post is different in a slight way. Dean said that once the game is finished Bohemia would consider a console port.

As you can see here, Dean is putting a peasant in his place when they pester him with pleads of a potato port.

aha you know how stupid that sounds.

Puzzles my brain how some people are actually against player created FREE content.

Without mods dayz would have never been created.

Without mods project reality never would have existed

COD would have never been a reality if it werent for counter strike to push FPS forward.

Mods have done more for the gaming industry than actual developers have.

Mods push forward innovative risky ideas that often times pay off. Publishers are too scared to push these risky concepts forward so its up to indies and mods to do so.

That's fine. I use mods in many games. Keep them out of the standalone. Keep them in the mod.

I think mods can do a lot more in the SA. Just isolate them in the private hive when it gets implemented though.

I agree.

Oh, you got a console exclusive and you're rubbing it in our faces? What if I told you that we have our own exclusives that are better and offer more fun than your exclusives? That, and we have many more where they came from.

In my opinion, i think DayZ Should be on Console, if it sells bad that's a lesson learnt from the Dev's, if people enjoy it and it sells like hotcakes, then it possibly could be a win-win situation.

Nope. We need good PC exclusives like DayZ.

DayZ should never port to console, for a few good reasons.

A ) The Controller is not fit for the RV Engine's controls. What will be lean? What will be crouch? What will be prone? What will be raise weapon? Etc.

B ) The Consoles would not be able to handle the game unless it was heavily optimized.

C ) Games like DayZ can be incentives for console gamers to realize why they should buy a PC. It can open up their eyes and show them all of the exclusives, sales, and bonuses of gaming on a PC. This is a bit unlikely, though.

D ) How would the inventory system be managed? EH?

I'm pretty sure the Dev team will find a way to make the game playable and enjoyable if it comes to Consoles. yeah it will lack in features, but they will no doubt make it enjoyable for the console players. To Answer D, the Inventory will properly work well on Console because you have the joysticks, it will properly not use the drag and drop system used in the PC version. it might be implemented in a different way for example you may hover over the object you want to pick up / put into hands and press X ( PS4 ) or A ( XBOX) now you have the option on the dpad to drop the object or use the object, you could open your inventory by pressing the touch screen on the PS4 controller and another button on the XBOX, from there you could scroll down the charts from pants to shirt to gloves and you could be able to do the features you can do on the PC version, just in a different way designed for the Controller.

Daaaamn the hotkeybar and inventorysystem would be easy to handle with controller. Put autoaim to it too and everybody should have their nametag above them and maybe unlimited ammo and maybe remove hunger too. After all we are talking about consoles here

yall "PC MASTER RACE" types are the worst breed of fanboys

I just don't think the console community would accept a game like this. People on consoles would be bitching and bitching about perma-death, no lifetime progress, et cetera.

http://www.dayzbuzz.com/dayz-standalone-on-ps4/

If you love DayZ and playing on consoles, there is some great news: it looks like DayZ Standalone will be coming to the PS4!

Dean “Rocket” Hall says he would be happy to see DayZ Standalone come to any console, but at this point it looks like the Xbox One will be out of the picture due to massive prices for patches. On the opposite end is the PS4, which does not charge anything for patches, meaning updates can be pumped out faster and more efficiently.

Sony Wants DayZ Standalone

According to Escapist Magazine, Sony has actually shown interest in getting DayZ Standalone on their console for months now. This is an awesome sign because this means they should be much more interested in helping the game not only be ported over successfully, but also with helping make the game more successful. For what is basically an indie game, this is something we really don’t see all that often!

Bringing More DayZ Players

As with any game, getting more publicity means more players. Along with this, the more accessible a game is, the more people will be interested in giving it a try. By giving players a choice of DayZ Standalone on both the PC and PS4, this enhances the number of people that can access it, meaning a bigger population and a bigger backing.

Having the game on both systems can cause problems with patching, as we’ve seen recently with games like Defiance, but as long as everything is handled with caution there should not be too many problems.

I really want DayZ to stay PC only. I have found that the PC community is way more mature and responsible than the console community, which is filled with many very young children. Anyway, I want PC to keep DayZ :)

I don't really care if a console port is made at some point ... some point far after the game is finished for the PC.

Love it when people bring knowledge to the table and naysayers bring down the "console gamers r dumbbb"

If I have a console and a PC am I just average?
