I love the zombies!!! Its great that they are a big threat and guns bring more and more in. They are just place holder and thats fine, but i just got done playing for 2 hours and had a great time just worrying about zombies. Meeting others players during zombiefest is gonna be interesting

I also should note that alot of people are gonna have a tough time with these zombies, because some people just dont seem to understand that sometimes you just got to run away.

Daww, look at this kid. He thinks zombies are a threat.  Precious.

The only thing the current patch has changed is that dealing with zombies in towns is entirely one dimensional, stealth is a waste of time, as is clearing out the area. So, smash and grab at high speed is the only remaining looting tactic.

Don't kid yourself, Zombies are just as laughable in the current patch as before, just now there's no point in interacting with them at all. Just grab what you need and outrun them. Nice and simple for simple minded players, but robs the game of depth for everybody else.

Mucho improvemento, don't you think?

i think I understand why so many people are complaining (there it is again, that word!).

Most of them (Due to having nothing else to do before this latest patch) never actually thought of getting enough survval items like bandages, rags and food and water together to be prepared for a case like this patch now has put before us.

They were so into PvP, that all their backpacks were stuffed with ammo and guns instead of first aid items.

All of a sudden they don't get enough PvP because the Zeds are "in the way" of playing the game they have become so used to. They just don't know how to handle the sudden and for some even dramatic change that has taken place.

Bash me all you want, but doesn't that sound like a nice theory?

If you actually bothered to read any post you would see that literally nobody is complaining about them now being "hard". People are complaining about them being bugged spawning invisible on top of you with the ability to go through walls and aggroing from 10 miles away the instant they spawn. If anything you're the one crying about imaginary posts people aren't making. On top of this 1/2 the people who bought the game can't even connect to any server and another few thousand can't stay connected even if they get in.

If only they had gave us some kind of warning about how buggy this game was gonna be, also they should have warned us that the game would be unplayable and we wouldnt be able to connect

sometimes right?

Seriously people! They told you this stuff was gonna happen and then people act surprised and childish when it happens........................facepalm

Even though I don't understand why so many people are complaining (there it is again, that word!), I KNOW why they do.

What on earth are you talking about? I've always played the game the survival route. The new implementation of zombie respawns and the fact that it has come while they still have xray vision and no clip mode is just silly, kills immersion and reduces the number of potentially viable strategies to looting towns.

If all you want is a simple jogging away from zombies simulator, it's ideal however.. since under the current system there's no incentive what so ever to dealing with zeds any other way and even if there was, while they see through walls and respawn instantly within a few dozen meters of where they're killed, it would be entirely a waste of time.

Personally, I'd like the game to be challenging, complex and with a varied range of strategies for survival, not just tediously simple rinse and repeat smash and grab raids on towns, followed by a brief sprint away from zombies.

I would have HOPED the playerbase would agree with me on that, but sadly it seems having to decide on the best approach and then execute it is too complex for many us.

No. It sounds like you have reading comprehension issues and don't understand that they didn't change the difficulty of the zombies at all only that they now respawn right in front of your face already aggroed to you and can run through walls which shatters the immersion in one of the most immersive games of all time and is now back to the "Oh look zombies spawning and aggroing there must be players there" which was one of the worst problems with the mod. You still just ignore the zombies like they aren't even there because you can slow jog and get around them.

I am not saying that the current Zeds aren't even worse than before. And I wasn't talking about specific people here. I have mostly played the game the same way, survival comes first etc.

It was just a theory that some people are complaining because they played geared more towards PvP than actual Survival. Which in return gave them trouble because all of a sudden a Zed hit will cause you to bleed.

I absolutely agree that Zeds are buggy, laggy, spawning above and beyond when and however they please.

Im all for the more agressive, more numerous zombies, but they still need to be brought back in line.  1 hit and your bleeding seems a bit much, and they have ridiculous reach. I swung a pitchfork at a zombie the same time he swatted at me, i missed and he didnt...if your backing away, they can stop to swing at you, their hands look to be a good foot or two away(in first person) but they still connect.  All in all, this is  good step forward, zoms are supposed to be dangerous and deadly, but we are dealing with zombie x-men than can walk through walls, see through walls,  stretch their arms, focus in on you from miles away, have super strength, and can fall from any height.-yes, saw a zom chillin on a roof, must have spawned there, came at me after falling off the edge like nothin happened. A fall that would have killed me should have at least broken his legs and left him crawling. Only took about 2 deaths to figure out how to take them down without getting hurt at all, especially with a fire axe. that is, when they dont teleport 10 feet to suddenly be in my face. They dont need to be taken out, just tweaked to be brought back in line

I guess while you were being a "don't talk about any issues just ignore them fanboy" you missed the part that says "We will be working with the community to fix these, to help us please visit DayzGame.com" ?

Ive heard many of the zombies are overspawning, spawning aggrod to players, and spawning within their line of sight.

Not saying anything about the aggressiveness of the zombies. Thought thats what he was referring to in the OP.

On a seperate note, you seem like an overly angry person, fyi :/

That's exactly what people are complaining about. Nobody has said anything about them being "harder" now other than the fanboys who can't accept they are broken and seem to think 5 zombies walking through walls after spawning 500M away from you already aggroed because you axed 1 zombie to death inside a building is a game feature not a bug.

They didn't do anything to change the zombies difficulty level other than they aim for your chest now not your head (and they are broken and make you bleed every single hit now which doesn't matter because if you get hit even once you're doing it wrong anyway). They still have the same horrible AI and pathing and you can still easily just ignore them and run around them like before.

See the thing that I do not understand is that, zombies have always had poor AI, they have always been able to walk through walls/doors and get to you inside buildings...

But now that they respawn, and pose a threat to people, now people are posting threads about how poorly designed the zombies are, and their pathing sucks, ect.

What's wrong? You all don't like having zombies being able to close in on you while you snipe bambies from sniper hill, or what?

Maybe now instead of carelessly firing off your guns at people and zombies, you'll put more effort and thought into your actions and maybe interact with those who you previously gunned down for no good reason?

Ohh and to the guy who keeps going on about the zombies aggroing from 500m away, you know what, sound travels, those zombies shrieking and you hitting them with an axe will draw the attention from a considerable distance, not to mention if your just firing your gun off for target practice, honestly, a bit of fine tuning with these zombies pathing issues and they will be fine.

Actually you were referring to specific people: "PvPers". The average PvPer is much better suited to survive than your average "survivor" who just sits in the woods twiddling his thumbs, sometimes sauntering into a deserted town. People who actively PvP in DayZ can balance stalking/being stalked, tactical positioning as well as taking down multiple intelligent enemies; I'm not talking running into a few zombies in Vybor on your 6 o'clock in the morning loot run and taking them out with a few swings of your fire axe. Your average PvPer also has more than enough bandages, saline bags, morphine and anything else needed to survive being wounded, as wounds are much more prevalent when dealing with actual human beings. The zombies have always been a joke and will remain so until they're properly implemented. The current patch has made the current state of zombies in this game deplorable. They're not hard, they're just annoying. They ruin PvP encounters, basically turning them into a cat and mouse game of who's going to shoot first and reveal their position. If anything, they break the game as they're basically a free wallhack.

So you can't even play the game even if you start fully geared ... yep sounds great!

I really don't understand these comments at all. What do you think constitutes fun in a zombie survival game then? And isn't fighting zombies playing the game?

Yes the zombies are glitchy atm, but i would hope people aren't going to complain when zombies do actually become a real threat.

Does anyone remember the early days of the mod when you had to sneak and crawl into towns to gather loot rather than the sprint, gather, escape method of the later on in the mod and then the SA?

This is a zombie apocalypse - the zombies need to be a very real threat - in fact i would love it if some areas on the map were so infested entry on your own was pretty much suicide.

And also completely underestimates the axe as the main zombie slaying weapon. Guns will only attract more zombies.

Use your axe. I have been doing good by sneaking up on zombies and killing them with my axe. I haven't been swarmed yet. :)

Quick question for all the geniuses here that keep saying over and over again "use your axe".

If using your gun anywhere in hearing range of a zombie is going to be an instant death sentence, then why even have guns in the game at all?

Sure being loud and using a gun should be a risk but there should be a respawn limit where the same zombie can respawn a maximum of 4 or 5 times then a cooldown goes into effect. That way guns don't become pointless items you only have for killing other players.

Guns are mainly for use against other players.

I long for the day when what you say is in the game. I remember back in the day on the mod it would take me an hour to loot a town, making sure I didn't disturb any zeds, or get busted by another player who had a gun. It was intense!

I actually LOL'd at the OP's story while sitting at my desk at work. Sounds like a lot of fun, even if you died. Zeds should be a real threat. Maybe they are buggy as hell right now, but they should be able to kick your ass a bit if you're not super careful.

I'm sorry you guys got eaten by hungry zombies, but this should happen more in the game rather than being downed by other players 100% of the time.

If you are killed by zombies, you need to practice... Zeds in this patch are a welcome factor, but far from a threat. Use your feet.... We need improved path/physics, better spawn logic, realistic suppression noises for weapons (as it relates to Zeds), and then a LOT more Zeds.

Try a new spawn in a server already looted. You're only way to stay alive is:

 - drink at the pond (some rare times you find a soda)

 - find berries (or eventually eat rotten fruit, they're not always make you seek )

And kill zombies with your hand (or a can opener, wrench, hammer. Only findable weapons)

It was so good for me to stay alive in these conditions.  I was so close to die by starving, berries aren't so common ^^ and my chars was like an old boxer like rocky

Run away from Z, not for me.
