SillyWilly 7 Posted February 2, 2014 (edited) I like the drugs idea for the game.. we have morphine and painkillers already, and those are very easy to get addicted to. Just like when you eat and drink too much, using too much of either of those should have a downside. Though speaking of which, i don't understand how morphine fixes a broken leg... it should only be a splint that does that, then use a bit of morphine afterwards periodically, to regenerate health. It allows you to grow a pair so you can run (with no pain) while your body does it's job of healing.
RosscoMac 75 Posted February 2, 2014 Sadly I've had to opt out of experimental now. I have tried for about 4-5 hours play in total over the last couple of days and every life I've had has ended in dying of starvation. I think the only food I found in that whole time was an orange. Other than rotten fruit of course.

Couldnt be further from reality but ok. The closest we can come to a realistic version of "healing" a broken bone is to have a 2 part healing/crafting system. You need to make a splint to imobolize the fracture and than also use the morphine. In reality it takes months for bones to heal and you cant be walking around on them but hey it IS a game. HerrNelson 11 Posted February 3, 2014 I will never understand those whiners here. I wonder what would happen when there wouldn't be any alpha released and the people had to wait for the final release in a year or two. Would you be crying that the game is delayed and you have to wait such a long time to play it? Stop whining for God's sake and appreciate that you are actually given an ability to play this game, AND, what is more important, be a part of the development process. Nobody forced you to buy it, right? And you saw the information on steam store, that it is bugged all over the place. So what the hell is wrong with you people? STAHP. Isn't this whining also?
ReelStig 19 Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) PLEASE make it so players can't force feed you if you're not surrendering/tied/handcuffed. I can't even count how many times I've been playing on experimental, run up to an unarmed player trying to chat with them, and they just force feed me a poisoned/rotten banana in like 2 seconds while I'm talking to them. Super fun! Edited February 3, 2014 by ReelStig

It only seems to be a problem when you first spawn hungry.
fisheye 21 Posted February 3, 2014 Isn't this whining also? It may be, but I'm whining about people and their mentality, not the game itself.

I thought Rocket showed a video back in the day with injured players limping around and whatnot? What he should do is what you described. The splint should allows you to actually get up and walk, but slower and gimpier. Morphine or painkillers should allow you to walk at a normal speed for a period of time, but at a risk of getting addicted. Like you start puking and getting the shakes and blurry vision if you don't get more, And after some period of time, with enough food, etc, you will be all healed.

Penalty waiting time added for switching server or disconnecting a server quickly[*]Login: Players receive a login timeout when disconnect, increased if disconnect within 30 minutes of joining (max 5 minutes)[*]Login: When players logout, their avatar sits on ground for 30 seconds. Players must make sure they logout somewhere safeAt the login section located in new for version: 0.33.114855. I notice there a huge change in the feature gameplay where it purpose is to reduce any combat loggers, can somebody clarify to me how this feature work in DayZ when you play multiplayer on any public server? I need some details about this so I could avoid any Combat logging.
dukstuf 24 Posted February 3, 2014 Making the morphine issue for broken bones highly realistic is a simple fix. You just have to use a bit of imagination, and realize that the problem isn't the way the morphine is implemented in game, it's the silly idea of calling what has happened to you a "broken bone". That simply needs changing to more accurately describe the injury. Change the text you receive to "sprained ankle", and the whole morphine idea becomes logical and works great!! kapnobatai 42 Posted February 3, 2014 is there somewhere a comprehensive and serious review of the update? 'cause I found only bits of feedback but most important, I didn't find anything about fixing fps, pvp lag and desync, which is a pain in the ass issue on high populated servers now, making the other issues not count. for real, no glitchy random character deaths, no phasing, no pvp lag, no server hopping/clog first and then you can paint your fucking mosin, ok?

kapnobatai 42 Posted February 3, 2014 When the stable version gets the update. Please enable dying from fall and explosions. Now you can jump from any building and blow up an gas station without dying. Not necessarily, just died yesterday from a fall. @rocket: desync and pvp lag should be of top priority. postponing this while spending even a minute of devs time on enabling f*ing notes it's a mocking to dayz player community and in half a year will conduct to a player pool consisting only in shit-eating-hungry kids who force-feed each other rotten fruits, any serious gamer will drop it. Jack Dant 158 Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) @rocket: desync and pvp lag should be of top priority.Premature optimization is the root of all evil. That's a mantra of programming. You optimize once all features are in place, not before. Besides, I've not noticed any particularly worse lag or desync than expected. Are you sure it's not just your connection? Are you playing on servers with good ping? Edited February 3, 2014 by Jack Dant
