The chance of friendlies are higher up North. Do you agree?

Recommended Posts

I find that the higher up North you hike, the better your chance of having friendly encounters. There are so many things going on at once along the coast. Call me a pansy, but I like the North better. What are your thoughts?

yeah you get killers up north but if you meet someone not at the airfield then chances are much better they will be to an extent friendly as well yes the easy plentifull kills are south your more survivour types head north .. This is merely in general so still becarefull making contact but yeah much more likely to get a wave a trade or even a friend than be straight shot as at the coast

Is depend

guys who going north invest more time efforts in their character so maybe they don't think before shoot from fear of return to balota hell :o

but also some guys who going north for sure want to enjoy map and maybe avoid pvp situation maybe more open mind if you approach in calm way ;)

every guy I meet so far in SA was hostile or doing combat log after I say hi so I stop to talk :|

mosin doing communication for me now and I living 90% north

I totally agree on this, hope some other people do too :beans: I've spawned on the coast to many times to imagine, and it's always a bad result, soon as i gear i head along the coastline supplying bambi's then head to the NW AF and then to shipwreck and other places where people spawn

The more they have to lose, the less friendly they are.

Yup, this game is slowly turning me into a very hostile guy for someone who wants to play a "Medic".

Disagree. I kos anywhere, when I am in the mood. but as said above, the more you have the more hostile you are bound to be, north or south.

So far I met friendlies mostly. Most of the hostile situations were caused by me. Maybe I just didnt let the bad guys hurt me without a fight (my superpowers surely let me see that I attacked bad people only). Coast was always killfest, so no surprise most friendlies are up north.

Yeah me too. I don't talk anymore. I let the other person talk and quickly decide if he present an immediate threat by his tone of voice and his actions. If he doesn't respond and he is geared, I will kill him. No questions asked. Just last night I saw two geared guys drinking water, I pass them and they immediately yell friendly to which I check if they pull out anything. I always check the threat level when I see someone and I always have my guns raised so that the other person try anything.

Me too! What I basically do is find the nearest water pump, drink til full, find a melee weapon. After that I hightail it out North towards the above of Cherno. The melee weapon is for the lucky encounter with a spawn killer. That way I can kill him for gear. Other than that I only hold a flashlight and melee weapon, before running like hell.

Used to be the other way around.. the happy-go-lucky people would hang on the coast with Lee Enfields and shotguns, while bloodthirsty people traveled north immediately and looted Stary and the NWAF.. then camped either one of them or hunted other groups.

I blame the very unfortunate Balota loot. They should take that entire airfield and move it elsewhere, then turn Balota into a civilian airport with moderate but desirable civilian loot.

I have had more friendly contacts in balota than that coastal ship NE, so no. Before they changed spawns to east coast it could have aplied but now even north and east is one big KoS fuckfest.

Don't you at least have a mere 1 second to assess whether the player is a threat or not?

I just got fully geared up looting dead bodies all over in Electro...

Wow.

North: takes a long time and effort; this encourages you to defend the gear you got after so much work.

South: it's easy and it doesn't encourage you to protect your character as you spawn there anyway. Indolent people live in those fields.

At south there are more people who don't give a shit and will shoot you in the face just for doing that; although up north people don't want to risk their effort.

Conclusion: this is why the survivors of Chernarus consider one main rule: don't trust anyone

The friendlies Ive encountered were always people who had recently spawned right by where I spawned, so neither of us had much to lose.  We didnt stick together too long though, so that might have changed once I had something they wanted.

If I see anyone in the north, I will try to kill them if it can be done with little risk to my life. Otherwise, I won't engage (unless they get the jump on me, of course).

I figure any player that makes it to the north is probably decently geared, and has a pretty good knowledge of the game. This makes them a serious threat, and I expect them to treat me in the same manner.

I pretty much think of the north as where the big boys hang out, and where gunshots are the only conversation. I am looking forward to private hives where I can get with a group and we can declare the NWAF ours (by killing everyone else who comes near). This can't be done on public hives because of the pussy ghosters.

The north is infested with the sanctimonious loot spawn campers.

Funny. I never ran into this situation of talking to people in game. I'm usually clutzing around some where remote and get popped without even knowing where it came from. I often go to the military base up north and its as hot as the southern one. When you're looting the jail and come across another player, there's zero time for conversation, they are usually whipping out an axe as I'm standing there with a helmet in my hands. Holy **$, I've been through some extremely rough times looting. So I havent ever had the time to talk to people in this game- neither side wants to talk.

Either that, or its a guy who speaks English-JarJar Binks language chasing me around wanting to fight. Crazy Dayz people. lol
