Can I Run DayZ Retail (POST HERE)

Recommended Posts

I may build my own computer but this is the specs of the prebuilt i want to get...

CPU: 4th gen intel core i5 4440 (6MB cache and 3.30 ghz)

Monitor: 720p

RAM: 8GB dual channel DDR3 1600Mhz

GPU: AMD Radeon R9 270 2GB GDDR5

Windows 8

And here are the specs of my DIY I want to do

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2IJZl

Will the prebuilt run it at high at 25 FPS in cities? If not what FPS?

Are the parts of the DIY good?  How fast will it run at what settings?

I'd like to start playing DayZ Standalone but im quite unsure whether its going to run fluently. I meet the minimum specs but that never meaningful! My system specs:

amd athlon 64 x2 dual core 6000+ 3,09 Ghz

2 GB Ram

geforce 9800 gt 512 mb

further, is there a possibility to once install DayZ and play it for a short time to get a feeling if its fine or not?

Sincerely, ameise! :)

Nope, you won't run at 25 fps in cities on high. More like medium settings. I had a 7870 (very similar card) and ran at around 25-30fps in cities with settings around medium. Some settings were high, some low or even turned off. You'll need a 7950 or the new R series equivalent to do what you want.

Will it run at High or Max?

Probably at medium actually, I got medium when running a near identical rig

I'm doubtful it will run the game above 15 fps. Probably not the ideal way to get the feel of the game, sorry

Hi there,

I was wondering if this laptop can run DayZ Standalone. I can't transfer desktop requirements to laptop requirements so I'm at a loss with this one to be honest, even after some googling. Any help would be great!

Link to specs https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5rhDDCs253ubkNUclNDUElUX2c/edit

It should be playable on high but lower resolution than 1080p will provide you with smoother fps

The easy formula ( if there;s any ) is that laptop HW must be a level or two above the same components in their desktop counterparts to keep up.

Eg - laptop with intel i5 would roughly compare to desktop with intel i3 - kind of thing

Forget anything in the AMD ''A-x'' series for the lack of performance. The higher performers starts with the FX series

tl;dr - FX 6300 and up should be worthwhile looking into

It won't run at that resolution and I'd remain sceptical about lowest settings too

It wouldn't exactly run at 60 FPS constant but it should be more than playable with a bit of tweaking.

Should run fine on low-med settings.

Hello guys, I would like some of your help. I'm thinking of buying the SA, but not sure if I will be able to run it or not. (I've tried ARMA 2: Arrowhead, and that was just fine.)

My laptop specs:

AMD Quad-Core A10-4600M APU with Radeon HD 7660G, 2.3GHz

8GB of DDR3 RAM, running at 800 MHz

1 TB 5400 rpm SATA

The resolution is 1366 x 768

Windows 8.1

I thought these would be the most important specs. I would like to know if I could run it at at least >20 fps.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you!

Your comp is better than mine, im on a 2ghz quad core with only 4 gig of ram and a radeon 4670 and i can run it fine as it stands now. Maybe in another year it wont, but the development is that slow im not sweating personally that i may come on to see a patch and not be able to run it any time soon.

I have 2 questions...

1. Im going to get a gaming computer and i have 1000-1200 budget for computer OS and everything, but heres the thing, my dad needs my old laptop for my brother when he gets to an age where it will be useful in school and my dad is willing to give me 400 dollars IF i buy a laptop instead of a desktop.  Will a 1600 dollar laptop run better than a 1200 dollar desktop because i know laptops suck for gaming.

2. Can anyone recommend the best prebuilt desktop or laptop?  Desktop budget 1000-1200, Laptop budget 1400-1600.  I want one that can run days mod and arma 2/3 at max or high mixed with medium settings.  I want the BEST POSSIBLE prebuilt desktop or laptop again desktop budget 1200, Laptop budget 1600.  If I'm being naive can anyone recommend a desktop DIY for 1200 dollars? (Pcpartpicker)

Start with all Textures and Qualities on High. Video Memory on Auto.

Disable the following:

- Anti-Aliasing

- V-Sync

- Post-Processing

Set-up MSI Afterburner so you can see FPS, VRAM and GPU Usage in OSD.

Tweak settings to give the best appearance without dropping frame rate too much.
