hi before im going to buy Dayz i have to be sure i can run this game. i dont need very good graphics just low quality. this is my processor: AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-70  2.00 GHz.

so opinions on FPS/graphics quality? 

I know the processor isn't the best, but im currently using a pentium e5700, and i watched a jackfrags video that had a similar build and it can get a steady 30fps in cities on the mod, so i should be able to get the same on standalone, if not now then in the near future, and that motherboard should be capable of accepting an i5 processor when i want to upgrade?

as for the ram, i was aiming for 4gb, but would i be better getting a single 4gb rather than the 2x2, as i plan to upgrade to 8gb at a later point

lastly graphics card, seems like a good one, but would i be better with 4GB Sapphire Radeon Radeon R7 240, 1800MHz GDDR3, GPU 730MHz, Boost 780MHz, 320 Streams, D-Sub/DVI-D/HDMI

as its cheaper, and seems to have more dedicated memory and clock speed, but im not an expert on such things :/

 

so would this be good? not just for dayz, but for other games, the most recent/demanding one for me would be skyrim

alternatively, can anyone make a better build for the same price?

Yeah, it will just about run but performance may be a bit iffy and require some tweaking to get everything running smoothly.

It will run the game but it would be a bit of a struggle. I would expect some tweaking to be required and gameplay would still be choppy in cities.

Yeah, pretty much. It's an intensive game and most laptops are not cut out for gaming.

Yeah, it'll run the game on low-med settings. Can't really comment on FPS as I don't know anyone that runs the game on a Pentium.

I have a budget of 1000-1200 dollars and I want to get a prebuilt to run DayZ at high or max settings.  I will not be recording and 20 FPS in cities will be just fine.  Im thinking of playing the mod.  I know prebuilts aren't the best choice in terms of price:performance ratio but I have very very little knowledge of computers and i don't want to F up the CPU chip air anything so DO NOT SAY JUST BUILD IT YOURSELF!  I was looking at the Alienware X51 with:

 

4th gen intel core i5 4440

8GB DDR3 RAM

UPGRADING TO AN AMD Radeon R9 270

No SSD

Monitor, 1080p

 

I know the Alienware X51 isn't the best choice but i want to know if it would run it at high settings at about 20 FPS in towns.  If not, what is a better computer for $1000 CAN that could do that or better

Now I can tell you that your HD Graphics 4k is going to struggle, maybe 10-15 FPS on all lowest settings.
