Can I Run DayZ Retail (POST HERE)

Recommended Posts

How would this do? I am new to PC gaming and need some guidance on a computer. If it wouldn't run well is there any other computers in this price range I can acquire?

It would just about run but performance would be dire. The GT 610 is a very, very low spec graphics card. With that kind of budget you'd be best off buying parts and putting the machine together yourself.

Absolutely not, sorry. You'll run the game okay, but on low-med settings.

Again - nowhere near max settings with playable frame rate, but it will run the game fine.

I'm building a new PC with an i7 4790. Is GTX 780 a good choice for best performance and quality or a R9 290 tri-x? I'll be running DayZ from a SSD too. I'm planning to run it maxed out even in cities and at 100% scale. Also, would a Haswell refresh i5 perform the same?

FPS? 18-150, depending on where you're looking/your location.

noooooo lol. I'll go ahead and say he'll get anywhere from 20-60. Looking at the ground/wall/sky to get 100+ doesn't count.

I would say:

Out of towns 40-60

Small towns 30-40

Big towns: 20-35

But I'm not too sure.

I think you should certainly keep in mind the fact that DayZ, even by ARMA's standards is, in terms of optimisation, a bit of a turd right now.

The performance isn't great for anybody to my knowledge but these issues should start to be mitigated slowly as we lurch towards beta.

I just upgraded graphic card from ATI HD7790 to GeForce GTX680 (2times better in gaming generally) to achieve some extra fps, the only thing I get is lower fps in cities and spikes/minifreezes in certain areas :D

(no whine, just fyi in case of thinking about 400$ graphic card to boost some DayZ SA FPS :D )
