  1. Old forum-goers, OP reminds me of an old poster that used to publish threads similar in nature, maybe 1-2 years ago. His name, "Rezarekshun" leads me to believe that this is an alt account made by the same person. Does anyone know the name of the account that they remind me of?
  2. I disagree, but beans for Pantera.
  3. Spawned in Electro, found a sedan in Dubky. Drove almost all the way to myshkino before Dayz crashed. Upon relogging I couldnt interact with the doors of the sedan. Tires looked ruined but inventory said they were pristine. I threw all of the tires/battery into the woods and continued on to myshkino where I was assaulted by wolves. Wolves got distracted by zombies and I made my way to the tents. After that I made my way to the castle, explored there and made my way to the dam(easily my favourite part of the west). I went south(I think) from there and some guy tried to rob me with a pistol. My zig-zag fu was too strong, and when I turned around to re engage he had left. All in all, a decent session.
  4. Look on servers called "Join=Kick" or "test" or "unstable"
  5. I finally got close to the west without being shot and the server shuts down for an update......here we go again
  6. This is a skill system, that as I understand it, is effectively pointless. It changes nothing and is of no use to you if you are alone. So if I do a ton of gardening, then do some fishing, I cant garden as effectively? Makes no sense. I think there was some fear of angering the player base if it changed the game too much, so they went with a system that essentially changes nothing-unless of course, you have a squad with designated roles. Maybe Im wrong, only time will tell.
  7. The mod was a niche experience. So hard for new people to start playing, and so unforgiving in its mechanics(and merciless doors) That the term "anti-game" was used to describe it. DayZ being hard is what made it popular. Then mods of the mod made it too easy, and made people forget what made vanilla great, and why everyone was excited to see a standalone version.
  8. The game is easy mode right now, impossible to starve or die of thirst. Only real threat is wolves and server hopping coastal campers with AKs. When pvpers say they are being ignored, what they mean is"why dont I have a gun right away/why do I have to eat/survival games shouldnt be hard to survive in/only real threat should be other players/I forgot CS exists." Surviving in the world, by itself, without other players to be worried about should be hard. If it isnt, then what is the point of calling it a survival game? Why bother farming/fishing/hunting if you dont need to? "It is no secret that DayZ set out to be a punishing survival title from the start of the project."- This, from the Dec.6 status report, gives me great hope for the future of survival in this game. I hope the pvp only crowd doesnt cry their way into making Dayz a casual game.
  9. I suppose thats possible, however I am not a regular on any server I just pick one and go. So it would have to be that by chance I always pick one with a higher %, which I find to be unlikely.
  10. I find so many guns, even on full servers, that I literally get a bad case of "too many guns" and have to leave them behind in order to pick up useful loot. More guns and ammo would just mean that no one leaves the coast, because in their minds there is no reason to. Personally, I find it more exciting to hear gun shots when I am unarmed, and have to way of defending myself at range. Try looting every building, especially the ones that look like no one bothers to loot, that is where the guns are.
  11. Gotta agree with you on that. There is something immensely satisfying about being able to use the terrain to avoid certain death. Its better, I think, if you can get revenge but usually its me alone vs 4 or 5 guys and running is the only realistic option.
  12. Just got shot by a mute freshie with an invisible gun while trying to provide pumpkins for the great people of Cherno.
  13. Anyone else find a longhorn in literally every deer stand? Checked about 8 last night and all of them had one.
  14. Cool that you were able to do it at least, last time I tried I got all ready to be a hermit on the skalisty and I died a little when it wouldnt let me fish.
  15. I knew how to fix my arms, did not know I had to put the worms on the hook first, but I suspected it. Perhaps it was just due to ping that I couldnt get worms, I tried multiple tools, but actions were taking forever, and I wasnt getting prompt. idk, will confirm if it was lag or my incompetence later. edit: I should add that I tried using an improvised knife but it didnt work. Perhaps the grass I was trying to use to get worms wasnt actually grass. edit 2: Confirmed, grass wasnt grass. Probably too close to the woods.
