Regarding the zombie animations...would be nice if there could be some conditions added that would stop zombie attack animations as long as no player is really close in a specific radius...also zombies should only start attack animations when looking in the right direction....as long as these condditions are not complied the zombies wouid only run or walk but not start their attack anims...I think this would help a lot  :)

That reporter, she was extremely good at the game and knew everything about DayZ. I barely had to give her any instructions

She was hot too :3

Rocket have you seen what Sakura_Chan is doing for the action menu in Arma 3? This would help people to pick stuff from the ground and open the doors without drinking your water bottle for example or whatever you've put in the action menu. He just hasn't changed action menu but he has changed how you interact with doors and objects way better than before in Arma games so you won't open the wrong door.

http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?161146-KEYS-No-action-menu

No more clunky door opening:

Now you can see what item you're watching on the ground:

What Sakura is doing is amazing improvement.

I c wat u did thur.

I'm sure that if Dean and co will allow players to do custom skins and such, the books in the game will be re-textured into porno mags.

EDIT: Of course you would have to install the modified textures and only you and others with them would see. But if that ever happened I guarantee that 60% of the deaths would be by one handed reading.

cleaning your gun and reading some dirty mags will probably be the only kind of entertainmet in old Chernarus for a good while ... in this case I really hope to find an old gramophone and some old Rachmaninow records  :)

Really strange that during and after E3 there was so much footage of DayZ

But now with Gamescom there is not as much. Hopefully people will upload some more videos when they close their gates!

apparently dean already changed the "take ammo out of box - load clip" procedure to "load clip directly from box" after some gc feedback

Well from the Matt Lightfoot video a few pages back, he seemed to just drag the box to the clip and load it that way. So Dean must have done that change rather early on.

Yeh.. Because as you could see from the interviews, peeps who tried the game so far got confused how the game actually works. Most of them have not played the mod before.. And many of them did not know english very well, so they could not understand/give so much attention to the warnings that pop up whenever they would fail to do something. They could not understand what the problem is. Most of the peeps there could not do anything else other than just running around lawl.

And Dean took this case as the ammo pack is so much complicated for the peeps to understand they need to click "Empty" I guess.

I mean.. It is not like all the peeps who would buy the game know english very well or have an experience of dayz from the mod. Many ppl will have no idea about it when they start playing it. I think with some tutorials people would learn the basics far easier. It is not like emptying an ammo box is a very complicated action. It is just something that is not in other famous games like most of the other features of StandAlone. Emptying ammo will not be the only thing that the peeps will get stuck in the first time. Let's then change the whole game and make it CoD.

I think tutorials on the case is the key to solve this issue.

Back in the day, when we lived in caves and hunted for dinosaurs and OrloKs, we got something called a 'manual' along with the games we purchased.

I haven't seen one of those in a while. though, if we can figure out how to make one, it might be a good stand-in for a tutorial.

Hmm.. Weird because I generally see in all the games that popped up in the last 10 years detailed tutorials not only to show the way the game works, but also the basics (maybe some strategies along) of game-play.

And I'm suggesting that, instead of ingame tutorials, we get a good old manual. Would probably be a good deal faster to make, and could be more informative.
