I hope I'm wrong but I'm seeing a possible long long delay in the release. one/two years.

Well I've yet to play DayZ Standalone above medium, because I develop and play on a laptop.

We have considered graphical improvements, such as DX11 - but doing something like that WILL delay the project by one/two years. Not only does a large amount of code need to be rewritten - but you have a great deal of art to be change (like, nearly everything). I'm really repeating myself on this topic for the millionth time

Night looks fucking awful at the moment. I mean, just really, really bad.

But we're aware of it and we have plans to fix it, which is where the DX11 conversation came from.

My reading comprehension skeelz are pretty low but I'm pretty sure he's just saying DX11 was considered as a potential solution to how fucking awful the night currently is but it was dismissed after realizing how long that would take to accomplish.

Chernarus, with no working power grid and its usual cloud cover, would be pretty dark at night. Not pitch black, of course, but close.

Even on a full moon it'd still be fairly hard to see.

I'd honestly hate if all nights were full moons. Extremely dark and it's almost necessary to use flares if you'd like to survive, that's exactly what I want.

Hi folks,

With Matt being away today and being really busy with E3 I didn't get a chance to make a devblog.

And here is an exclusive for the forums as an apology for not being very active here as of late. It shows some of the major changes and improvements to the map, in this case SenChi has been redoing roads adding enhancements and making the terrain feel more real.

Why does the survivor have a bottle of cleaning spray in his backpack? It's not like he's cleaning cars.......or is he??????

Rocket. What I concern the most is that you can first finish the basic system and we can play it.

But every other thing like font, UI. You can improve those later when you want.

I mean, of course you can do these after we have vehicles, new maps etc.

I love this game's core surviving system.

This is disinfectant. Remember those diseases Rocket has been talking about? Better clean those beans you steal off that dead body.

Hmmm... Well, I'd have to see how night looks in SA.

If it looks worse than vanilla DayZ, then I'd say take some time to improve it before release.

If it looks the same, then don't worry about it until later.

Night looks pretty bad in vanilla DayZ in my opinion, so hard to tell what Rocket means in this regard.

Even with the best texturing in the world, I don't possibly see how that GUI could ever be considered an improvement.

No wonder Dean doesnt visit this forum much. He shows us some screens of the current progress and all you can do is bitch and moan about it? IMO the UI looks fine as it is, nothing wrong with it. Jesus christ guys give Dean a fucking break.
