Dear DayZ Dev Staff... I'm not sure if you already did this but I thought it would be cool to have static before and after you talk similar to http://www.astrosurf.com/luxorion/Radio/na1ss-py5rx-12feb2006-1312.mp3.

Also maybe have more or less static depending the distance between the two players similar to http://www.astrosurf.com/luxorion/Radio/suitsat-fm-sstv-17feb2006-0143z.mp3 if there were a good distance apart from each other. And if they were closer the audio would be more clear.

maybe if someone was getting shot at or zombies chasing them and they used the radio the other person would here the background noise.

Just something that would be cool in DayZ Standalone...

There is information about the new animation rig in this

. Rocket mentions how this new rig will make the way weapons are held/viewed in first person look better, because essentially there will be two seperate skeletons for third and first person.

Personally I don't understand how this will work in relationship with your body (will you still be able to see you're body when rotating your head, something that I find very immersive) - it sounds like this new rig will look and feel more generic. I am all for more fluid animations, but I am not in favour of anything that makes this game feel more like a generic shooter. I realise this is mostly speculation and I really have to wait and see what this new animation rig is like, but I am interested in what others think/feel on the subject.

being able to see your own body in 1.person is an absolutely must have..Arcane studios did a very good job there with Midas Might and Magic for example (years ago)...

There is no solid release date

if any of you have been paying attention, Rocket said he and his team shall "review the situtation in June" (Rocket)

I'm quite positive this has been brought up to some degree in Suggestion forums and the like...

But does anyone think we're going to get more places/capabilities to hide our stuff in SA? I mean, obviously they're adding more places to Chernarus, but that doesn't necessarily translate into "more nooks and crannies" to hide things. If anything, I think it will be much harder than it is now to hide tents and the like given the scarcity of space. I have had pretty good success with the way in which I hide my tents (a combination of the usual northern woods inside trees and the unorthodox attempt to hide tents inside seldom-visited northern villages). However, this could be strengthened I feel in the SA.

For one, tents need not be the only method of storage. I can't remember if I heard it from the Devs or from an independent source, but I recall a mention of storage containers. That's all fine, but it really boils down to how easily it can be seen/found.

Given the problems with a persistent world and a shrinking (although large by comparison) map, it seems that it would be prudent to enhance the ability of players to hide stuff. I don't really agree with the ability to hoard tons of loot, but hiding a weapon and some food underneath a tree in a lockbox would be a great addition. That's just an example, another way of doing it would be to add containers to existing houses. So, in addition to having loot spawn on shelves and tables, it would be ideal for containers to be openable as well (refridgerators, closets, etc.) This does not seem to be the way they are going, but would be an elegant solution nonetheless.

Yeah I hope too that there will be better solution for storage than just tents but I'm also against the easy hoarding stuff. Something like one storage per player needs to be implemented and the storage disappears after you die. Storage could be digging in the ground, backpacks hidden somewhere etc. and you couldn't put much stuff in it.

DayZ Redux has a really neat implementation of a strongbox that you craft out of wood, it makes so much more sense than a tent.

Just saw Dslyecxis new video on youtube about Arma 3 advanced fog....will we get this too for DayZ ??????? Imagine a horde of zeds coming out of the fog....

i really hope we can disable that fog if it does come to dayZ. it looks like it would run my frame rate right down.

Sorry tested it wrongly. Now tested properly. I see about 1-5 fps drop or increase depending are you inside or above the fog and so on so it can increase your performance :P

/Okay mostly it was only 1 fps decrease if any but sometimes gave more fps. It depends just what are the values in the fog and how you're positioned.

this is alpha testing atm, I am pretty sure they will be able to improve the performance :)

Agreed the Tents just dont cut it anymore, but down the track we could be hiding things in our Base built underground. Thinking how Building a Underground base would apply as it would take a considerable time in real life to dig out say a Hole big enough for two let alone to House your whole Team. That said i love the Idea of base building it sort of Works to a degree in Wasteland

To me, it sounds like they're keeping the old system of only having one skeleton, but are designing the new skeleton to feel better in both third and first person.

My CPU better hold up, for fog's sake.

People have been saying the fog has actually been increasing FPS, rather than lowering it.

Well, apart from all the zeds in SA I reckon my main enemies are render distance and particles, adding fog might just be the lesser of two evils.

We'll have to wait and see.

The standalone is probably never coming out. Or it's going to fail big time.

It was supposed to come out in December 2012... it's almost May 2013...

@ Fraggle: I think a big sticky should be posted stating explicitly in big colourful letters why these release dates were "missed" and what has changed since then. Maybe someone will notice it and you wont have to say the same things a hundred times over.

But then again no one reads the stickies. XD
