SOMEWHERE TO STORE ITEMS IN THE STANDALONE

Recommended Posts

I think there should be like a Safe Town where there is no way to kill anybody and then have a garage where you can store two vehicles only for each player.

And last have a vault to store equipment, this will help to build player relationships and have a place to go.

So you want to turn DayZ into WoW?

No i want to have a place to go... where its safe for once, and to be able to actually gain something for my long hours of gameplay.

No, this would not work since DayZ is built on the paranoia of not knowing whos friendly and who will steal your stuff. Having a city like this would take that paranoia out of the game. (which is what makes the game fun)

I dont know what to think but i think some small safe area where i can store my well deserved loot in is a good idea. I mean this is what makes people snap and quit when they lose everything. Of course its different with everybody but its something that will help, IMO

The only way i would ever consider supporting a "safe zone" is if there was literally nothing there, it could just be a place for players to go and socialise, no loot, no zombies, no "storing items" ( this defeats the purpose of perma-death).

Losing your gear when you die forces you to learn from mistakes and become a better player.

Dude shut up. Your advocating lame ass MMO tactics.

Give these pussies a safe town with a vault, then give them a safe garage, then they'll get to respawn with their gear after they die with a penalty, then they'll whine about the penalty and that will go away. The next thing you know: the entire map will be no pvp except for a small pvp arena or some shit. Then you have DayWoW. Fucking lame. These are the kind of pansies that ruined UO back in the day. It's starting all over again.

Shut up! Go play wow if you want a safe zone.

like i said i think storing items that way you still have them when you die defeats the purpose of perma-death. Plus warz did it so IMO that alone is enough to steer clear of it lol

Instead of making yourself look like an inconsiderate moron, you could justify why you think it's a horrible idea nicely.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No, OP. It's not a very good idea, I think, because it defeats the perma death thing. There should not be a safe zone area, either.

The high intensity risks a an integral part of the game, it's actually the reason a lot of people play.

Dayz is not a mainstream game, it is not a typical shooter. You should have done some research before downloading it.

Max i really think its my kind of game either way if it has a vault or not. I like to have alot of nice equipment only while being in my group. i have been making some serious risks, yesterday i was attacked by a 4 man helicopter luckily i was able to escape with my life... Idk it got me thinking on storages. I know theres tents and vehicle you can save. What happens if the servers restart will the saved tent still be there with my stuff. If so what besides it being looted or destroyed makes the tents lose stuff?

Go play WarZ if you think "safe"-zones are a good idea.

Bandits will camp in the hills nearby with sniper rifles and kill you the instant you walk out of the town.

It has been proven to fail as a concept.

If you want to make sure that your loot doesn't get lost, stolen, or otherwise.. DayZ isn't a game for you. (But that doesn't stop you from playing variations of it.)

Hello there

If an idea or suggestion is not to ones taste then counter it with logical concise objections, please do not get personal otherwise i will *nom* on your bones or give you a warning point. both are not nice. even if you do push back you wont enjoy it.

Keep it constructive keep it concise.

that ruins the whole point of the DayZ "safe zone".....no your just tired of dying its a strategy/survival game don't take the challenge away......just go play Minecraft make a bed, storage

@Thekidinabox

There ARE ways of storing items in Day Z. It's called a tent and a car. Be careful where you place them and you shouldn't have too much of an issue.

My group and I set up a huge tent site in a great location and we didn't worry about looting because we were stocked to the teeth: 1 person or even a group of players would take a week to loot everything we had! :D And by then we'd notice and murder them.

Removing paranoia and unease is dangerous as mentioned and the idea of area camping is horrible. It's bad enough as the game is now, we should discourage it in the standalone too.

I don't like the idea.

No places, but six feet below, should be considered guaranteed safe.

There's a lot of safe places already in DayZ, well at least the illusion of safety and the cool thing about DayZ is that this illusion can be shattered at any moment. The end of the world isn't a safe place and you have to live with that or die.

Defeats the whole purpose of it being an unforgiving perma death game, so no.
