from fun to pretty much unplayable

Yup, sounds like you don't belong it what DayZ is supposed to be.
  2. Is DayZ worth buying? I played the ArmA2 Mod heavily back in the day. Countless hours. Had the time of my life. Every time I play the Stand Alone, it feels more and more like the mod, but with a level of detail I've never seen in a game. Like the mod... but different... When you interact with other players, get into a fire fight, ect. the old feeling is there. At it's current state in 2017, 3 years after the Alpha released, it is worth playing. Unfortunately it's taken this long to get here and that is the sad part. There have been major setback with development, but right now I could say it's looking much more positive. Are there still bugs? Is it still Glitchy? Well yeah, that's why they're still in alpha, they need to get that shit fixed. And whatever has been going on for the last three years is starting to pay off. If people can't wait another year for the game to finish, and they believe that 4 years is too much, then don't buy the game. For me? I'm good, plenty of other games to play. But I haven't played in a year, and I started playing again last week. I'm hooked again, loving it.

    About persistence and world containers

Is there an official list of current persistent times for: Tents, Barrels, Ammo Cans, Protector Cases, Medical Kits, Dry bags, Backpacks and Vehicles and how exactly they work. It would be nice if the persistence worked flat across, but it seems there are massive variations... Also, I remember before that Tires would last several days if placed in a camp or out in the woods, is this still the case? I would like to trust player experiments, wish I had the time and patients to run a test... And yes, giving a private hive the option to adjust times and all containers and items would be interesting.

    Reason to keep playing?

Reason to keep playing: Loot, Survive, get shot in the face when you try to say hello to someone, loot, survive, shoot the next mother fucker you see in the face because that last guy shot you in the face for no reason and you're sick and tired of how shitty people are and you're going to teach these fuckers a lesson.... Yup.

    About persistence and world containers

What's the current status on persistence with 61.13? are we still dealing with 8 days and the full inventory repack?

    Unable To Skin Elk?

I see! Makes sense, thanks for the response! This helps greatly.

    Unable To Skin Elk?

I killed two Elk cows in a row, and was unable to skin them with a kitchen knife or an improvised knife... Does anyone know why? Is it a glitch or is there a specific item you need to skin a deer?
  9. Interesting, would be nice to get a confirmation on how long these things last without interaction.
  10. The protector case, Ammo Box, Backpack and small dry bag should fall in the same category. If that's the case, then abotu an hour or more like the backpack maybe? I wish there were more persistent storage items. The wardrobes don't seem to work very well either. So all we have are tents, vehicles and oil barrels... I'm assuming there will be more in the future.
  11. So backpacks? I guess not...
  12. So are these working correctly now, or is there still a danger of losing your stuff? What other options do we have? I've messed around with these Wardrobes, but the items seem to disappear after awhile. What about vehicles? Will they hold items without losing them? Are vehicles totally persistent? Also, what's the deal with all of your gear getting wet in these oil barrels? Is there a way to empty them out of water or fuel before placing items inside of them? I stopped playing 6 or 8 months ago because there was no way to store your gear or make a camp. So this seems like a positive move for DayZ... Finally after two years in alpha.
  13. So it's the resolution problem. I have my monitor set for 3440x1440 resolution, for some reason DayZ won't detect this, and just shits out. Not very impressive.... So I had to go to the DayZ.cfg file and change the resolution and save it. simple fix, but how was I supposed to know? So anyone with an odd resolution will have to do this until they figure it the fuck out. Now I'm stuck in a house, so I guess they aren't making much progress, although the game was feeling really nice there for awhile.... Players still shoot on sight and don't aknowlege when you try to communicate.
  14. I've had no trouble in the past, but with the recent patch, DayZ will not display on my LG UM95 Monitor that is connected to my ASUS Gamers Republic Laptop ( ASUS G750JH / Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M ). I can hear the game, but I've just got a black screen, then the monitor actually disconnects from my laptop, and everything gets all cluster fucked... All other games start up fine with the LGUM95 as my primary monitor when connected to the laptop, and DayZ did the last time I played it. But for some reason it won't now. I tried deleting the DayZ.cfg file, but that did not work. I have to disconnect the monitor, start DayZ on my laptop only, mess with the settings, then restart it after reconnecting to the monitor, but none of the video configurations I've tried have worked and my monitor ends up disconnecting every time... what gives? Any help?
