    Draw distance didn't suffer until they decided to cater to consoles. Then our distance slider disappeared...... so thanks for that consoles. Dayz being released to consoles was a money grab to fund Enfusion for Arma4 development. That's it.   10. So finding a car/truck/bus is already very rare. Why, on top of this, every single one of them spawns without any parts at all? I could imagine that most of them lack some pieces, as batteries or some wheels, spark plugs, etc.. but it's almost as if you were forced to mount the vehicle from the chassis, just ridiculous. I've not played the mod that much, but I remember that you could fix vehicles easier than in SA. What do you guys think about this?

    I really like this game, appreciate the work you are doing and fully understand that it is still in alpha stage, but what's up with the vehicles? I was so much happy about cars, but when I first got to drive one (yes it takes so much time assembling one), I was really disapointed by the mechanic... My question is the following : have you ever actually drove a car in real life? Because I have never seen a car (even the worst one) with the horse power of a turtle. The bus, I can more or less understand, but cars or trucks? So please, change that and give us real vehicles that can actually work.

Hi gang, I’m trying to figure out a few things about the vehicles: 1) Do we know how many of them spawn each time, out of each kind if it works like that? 2) I believe that a vehicle which was not manipulated with in a given session, despawns and spawns somewhere else. Is it true? If so, how can we prevented a despawn for sure? Will putting a single random item in the trunk make it stay? 3) Apart from the above, what makes a vehicle despawn? I heard that a car ruined in an accident will despawn, but I saw a crashed Volga which was there for a couple of days. On the other hand, a Volga which I hopelessly drove onto a pile of timber despawned. However, a Lada stuck on a rock stayed there for some time. So what’s the rule for despawn due to damage? 4) For how long the vehicles are persistent? Is it 7 days? 5) I see that all the regular items despawn if manipulated, as usual under CLE. However, wheels persist. My question is: are they persistent like the vehicles/barrels? Or is there any other special rule? If I want a wheel to stay there, is it better to manipulate it or leave it be? Do jerry cans follow any similar special rules? 6) I hid a truck among some trees but upon a restart, the truck now faces North. It is not accessible (although the inventory is) and all the double pristine wheels are ruined. If I chop down the nearby trees and replace the wheels, will I retrieve my vehicle?   16. well ill be brief and to the point i have setup a 1.8.6.1 server for myself for fun and all is well except no vehicles are spawning at all i have looked all over using the search function and tried every little fix i could find and to no avail still no vehicles in my object_data , just wondering if someone else has had this issue and has fixed it thanks in advance.

    Fix this shit game

    As long as this game has been out and not having very basic mechanics working properly. Crawling through unbroken windows into building and pushing a team mate through small areas, vehicles are absolute shit still just to name a few the list is long than anyone would ever want to post how tf has this game not entirely died out. I think the modded community alone is keep this game alive. And my one question I have is how have I been deving my own game for about a year and a half and coming from no coding experience or prior game dev did I make a better vehicle system than a game that's been around for many years could do. I've literally tested my game with 30 ppl on it and don't have the sort of desync issues that this game has. I think the coders don't know how to code and that this enfusion engine the game runs on is utter shit. Dear dayz devs let this trash game die and make something better and give this entire community an apology for relasing such a half assed thought out project that is such trash.

    Vehicles

    Anyone else having trouble handling the cars? Today I put together two hatchbacks and when I drove them it was like I was driving on ice or snow, I had literally no control of the car whatsoever, just drifting all over. I was able to do some pretty sweet donuts though. Rewind to to this morning, I put one together and it was fine, no steering issues. I managed to make it half way down the coast no problem, till I went a little too fast and crashed into a tree. I looked into some of the bug reports and someone reported they "couldn't turn" in the hatchback and I'm guessing that was similar to what I experienced. Also, I put together a couple buses and couldn't even get them to move off the main street of Electro. It was like the tires were stuck halfway in the map terrain and just spinning. Anyways, I hope whoever stole my one good working hatchback enjoys it. :)Still don't know how I missed my shot... I'll be aiming for center of mass rather than the head next time with my Winchester. Consider yourself lucky!!!!!!

    Hello, since the update 1.19 I have more and more the same error. So far, this has not been noticed because it had previously only referred to animals. For 3 days now we have advised our players not to use the vehicles (regardless of whether they are vanilla or modded). Apparently, for inexplicable reasons and without any indication of the origin of the error, the server cannot locate the position of vehicles and animals, too, and assigns them a new position.     Fix this shit game

    What do you like in this game? Three years ago I bought dayz sa livonia playing it occasionally. Yesterday I changed the server and choosed accidently a server with chernarus+ map. All this time I did not know that I can also play chernarus as a livonia buyer. All my memories came back when walking from the coast to the airfield. Because ten years ago I played all day until late at night chernarus with the dayz mod. I miss all the vehicles and the helicopter. I even looked for the green bicycle standing against the wall of a house. Or where is the plane that regularly drops packages at the airport to fight over. There are hardly any vehicles or no motorcycles to repair. I spent most of my time doing repairs, only to be finally shot down at the last moment. Where is the quad that you could race across the fields. You had to be careful though because of rocks and bumps. There was so much action. No question, the new map looks great with the weather system, yet it seems dead and abandoned to me now. For nostalgic reasons, I even have the Dayz mod music playing in the background. Imagine arriving at the airport at night and suddenly sounds 8:30. I still don't understand why there wasn't an effort to provide everything Dayz Mod offered just with the new graphics engine.

    Personally, I think the darkness is pretty close to ideal, simulation-wise. However, servers going empty is a problem. I'm not sure what the answer is, but craftable NVGs are not a thing in real life. I was only going to suggest putting green and red lights on the vehicles so that we know which way they are flying at night.
  23. Dear DayZ Devs, I've been playing DayZ for over a year or so and I've loved it a lot. The only problem is your base building and lack of squad functions. I ended up uninstalling it the other day. If you update the game I will come back. 1) Base Building I spent 3 months building a beautiful base with tons of walls, 2 towers, 6 tents, 2 trucks, and 2 cars. It's in the middle of the forest no where near any towns or cities. I had all my gear in there and if I died I'd head to my base to gear up. I'd also do supply runs to keep the base stocked. One day I caught two guys trying to break into my base and killed them easily. Then I came back the next day and my entire base was destroyed. Vehicles all gone, all gear spread across the ground or stolen, it was horrible. There's no way for me to defend my base when I'm not there and it's too easy to lose everything. I want some sort of turrent or base defences I can build. I wasted 3 months building that base only for it to be destroyed. GONE. PLEASE ADD SOME WAY TO DEFEND YOU BASE SO WE DON'T WASTE MONTHS BUILDING A BASE ONLY FOR IT TO BE DESTROYED IN ONE EVENING WHILE I HAPPEN TO BE LOGGED OFF. PLEASE. 2) Squad Function In COD I can form a squad, friendly fire is off (or on depending upon the mode). In DayZ there is literally no squad or even just a friend system. Every single person I've met in the game shoots me on site, even when I try to put out the white flag and say I'm friendly and want to work together to form a squad. I don't know anyone outside of the game that I can play with so I'm stuck ALWAYS playing completely alone. None of my gaming friends play this, they're all on COD. And I can't make friends in DayZ because people just shoot you on site because of the way you designed this aspect of the game. PLEASE ADD SOME KIND OF 'SQUAD UP' SYSTEM WHERE YOU CAN INVITE PEOPLE OR ACCEPT INVITES TO SQUADS WITH OPTIONALY FRIENDLY FIRE ON OR OFF. PLEASE. As I said, I have uninstalled the game after playing it for over a year. I REALLY like the game outside of these two things. I just makes me so angry when I spend hours, days, or even months (in the case of bases) working on my character only for someone to shoot me in the back or destroy everything I have in one day while I'm logged off. Up to you if you want me back. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has uninstalled your game because of this. I noticed you're player count has gone down drastically. Maybe if you improved these two aspects of the game, you might not lose all your players and the game could stay alive. Anyway, there's my two cents. I'll wait and see if you want me back or not.     Vehicles moving very slow

    Hi! Me and my friends have, since 0.59, found three different vehicles. - Bus - V3S Truck - Offroad Hatchback All of these vehicle seems to be moving very very slow. We've tried so many things but they all can't even make it up a semi-steep angle (Imagine the fields west of the power plant in Elektro). What we've tried - Removing all the wheels and then putting them back on. - Made sure that all wheels, spark/glow plug and the battery is pristine. - Made sure there's fuel in the vehicle. - Made sure we're not trying to speed up on either reverse, neutural, second, third etc. Is there anyone else that knows, or had and fixed, this issue?   25. Experimental (with vehicles) is out for over a week or so. Id like to know what fellow survivors think of new vehicles. How do you like looks of them. How do you like required parts? I personally like new cars, I see Lada Niva every day at least one. They are cheap robust and capable off-road cars used by hunters, foresters and everyone that has to drive off roads. GAZ Volga was most luxurius Soviet car. There are also leaked pics of Škoda 1203 van known from mod. I like how cars look, how many parts they have. I especially like the fact that they now have different wheels (compared to mod where same wheel did fit on ATV and URAL truck). My only complain is size of new cars. I think they should be bigger compared to our carachter, at least 25-30%. This is not topic about vehicle handling, that will change in next updates. Remember V3S that lounched in orbit and things like that.
