they've said in the past they want to get it back in on a stream, but they can't confirm it will be coming. Its a lot of work involving animations and rewriting code that they are best spending time in other areas that really need people working. I think 1.20 is a good example that they're fighting with a lot of backend technical work, and bows don't really seem like a priority to readd right now when vehicles are not where they need to be, handstate bug, desyncing issues, server issues, the list goes on. As a team for a 10-year old project, they know from experience confirming things to the community then not being able to get that confirmed thing in for years goes against them, so their best option is to hear but not share where things are at unless it's genuinely coming in an update. That's why they haven't said anything about bows.

From a console side of things. I know PC players have the choice too add a lot more items in their custome servers. Was hoping that some if not more of these items can make it to console. Weapons For example the lack of weapons and attachments on console. I know we recently received a couple of new hunting rifles and some explosives, that being said most of the other weapons have not changed. Cosmetics for them ie: colours have changed and some magazine sizes as well. More sights and scopes, more hand weapons, pistols, smgs, long guns, rifels, scopes, suppressors, etc would help keep the console players going. Building Seeing more building choices for consol as well. Adding doors, instead of just having gates. Keypads or different locking mechanisms. Different wall variations example walls with windows. Adding platforms that we can build on the ground to help level it. Some of these would help console players be a little more dynamic in hiding bases in or around buildings. Vehicles The cargo truck has been made usless as of 1.18 or 1.19 on console. Can barley make it up hills now, paved or not the seem to just spin tires even in 1st gear. As of 1.20 I know that there is a bug with the hummvees are doing the same. I know players get excited when we see a good working vehicle to be able travel and loot other areas. But trying to get anywhere now is more frustrating then ever before. The cargo trucks were amazing before. Now the are just a struggle to do anything with. AI Looking forward to seeing more changes to this area in the future updates. Map experience. I do agree that certain areas will be well received in updating. More immersive environments. I seen that someone put of graffiti as an example. Birds, and other types of animals as well. Some other things for example. When we cut down trees they just stay on the ground blocking us on building sometimes. Maybe after the fall down animation they disappear and a cut down stump is left. Maybe if there are tings in the way tables or chairs we can destroy them to place walls or open an area up a little would help. These are just somethings that I would like to see as a console player. I really do enjoy this game. It is byfar one of my favorite games that I can spend hours on every time I log on. So please don't take this as complaints. This is just hopes that console players can receive some more updates to make it even more enjoyable. I know it is easier to add things and customize things on pc but really do hope thatnit can be added to console. Really looking forward to seeing what 2023 has in-store for us and what the future of dayz will bring. I do hope this will be received. To the people that take the time. We will see you out there. Hi For the last few years I've been going around the Chernarus & Livonia map and picking out all the faults that I've seen and come across. There are so many Dayz issues and here they are: 1. Trucks: No Power up hills.... Trucks need the 5th gear adding.....Engine burns out when revving the engine to much.....Rev counter needs slimming down..... Tyres are to far of the ground at least inch & half, Hence the reason why the wheels are turning when truck is ticking over... 2. Cars: as the same with the trucks wheel are to far of the ground.... 3. Shops and other buildings: The steps into are higher then the ground, you have to jump in to then to get in. 4. Zombies: They can hit you from 2 foot away from them when running away from them. They can go into the vehicle when they are chasing you or when they see you in vehicle when vehicle stops. 5. Static Military Convoy: At prison island ( rocks) you cant get by when driving a vehicle at all (coordinate 2506.05 / 2045.28) They need moving backwards by 3 foot..... 6: Static Police Situation: In Eltro town the Static Police Situation you cant get by when driving a vehicle again needs moving forward by 4 foot. 7. Roads: Roads go from tarmac into grit road or grass roads. 8. Loot: loot can be seen hanging out the vehicle.... So when a player wears a gun on there back then gets into a vehicle you can see the gun popping out off the roof. 9. Track Roads: on this particular area approx 192.47 / 3905.37 The road dips very low and needs addressing. when driving any vehicle it throws you in to the trees. 10. Player floating: When player connects with any climbing item the player feet goes into the item such as vehicles. 11. Gates: When a player opens or opens a pad lock to open a gate the the gate spawn through them. 12.Hatchet: When player use's a hatchet it looks like the player is about to chop of his fingers. The hatchet needs turning around so the other end is hitting the nail. 13. Chopping down trees: There is a issue when chopping down a tree, Sometimes the tree falls into you and damaging your health. 14: Canteen & Bottle: Dont open when player drinks from it. 15: Water fountain: when filling up to far to fill up and CanisterGasoline goes into the fountain. Thease are the main problem that are issues that can be fixed. kind regards. Dayz is a perfect game that anyone can play either PVE or PVP. But this game can kill you in many ways. One being the issues above or by someone who shots you. Maybe one day i can help correcting these issues and make dayz the best game ever to play. kind regards

Maybe in 2024, if the company is still afloat, we will receive a meaningful update to vehicles? We have received no meaningful fix to cars since the title left beta 3+ years ago.

Well, we have a paint spray in game, so i would like to use them to spray messages on buildings, road, doors, cars, tents....oh wait.... on everything. That would be great to spray on my v3S huge banner that it si MINE car :). To use walls to left messages for other survivors...To paint your red doors Black. Just imagine taking spray in hand a by klicking button left a black mark everywhere you point at.... even in enemy eyes :)

So, with vehicles missing parts when they spawn in, and all these wrecked vehicles, often of the same make, lying about, the question is rased in my mind why we cant simply try to find whatever part you need in the wrecks? Of course, msot of the parts you do manage to find would be damaged, if not ruined, and wrecks would have finite supplies, but that would just add to the game, atleast to me.

edit: Issue has been resolved and explained in this thread. As of 1.8 i have had some issues getting more vehicles to spawn statically so after some time and data entering I've created a table of Vehicle Spawns based loosly on this map here: http://dayzdb.com/map/chernarus. There are 69 vehicles in this table but you can add/remove as much as you want as long as you follow the object_spawns table. Nearly all vehicles have no fuel and data has been based off object_spawns table. So you may want to also change this data to your liking. To install just replace blank table with this one. Locations and vehicle info should save if your server is set up correctly. Download just rename to .SQL object_data.sql.txt This can also be used for other maps too, you just need to modify the Worldspace column.

Vehicles taking damage seems like the only authentic solution here. A vehicle should protect you from a bear until it is ruined. What about taking out a horde of infected with a makarov, single loading, and standing safely on top of a hesco barrier? What about that gross abuse? (have them drop grenades) -

I like that this update seems to have fixed the inconsistent sprinting power attack problem. On 1.18 I had to spam trigger to use the sprinting attack. The added features focused on slowing players down so much more seems funny considering the vehicles are still in a bad state and few and far between. I could deal with glitchy cars or vehicles if I could find them! Zombies still seem weak, uninterested, uninteresting. Basically a nuisance and visual filler at this point. -
I'm running latest dayz mod server vanilla, no vehicles are spawning I'm guessing it's turned off by default as I have not made any changes anywhere, can someone point to where I can set vehicle spawn to true so they can be spawned and saved by players?

I'm hosting a private server for a few friends to goof off on. At most, there's probably a dozen of us playing, as the server is intended to be private for our personal enjoyment. I initially started hosting it on my VMware host but performance was bad. Reading around online, I found that running ARMA based games on VM hosts usually doesn't work out well, so I dug through all my hardware laying around and built a server specifically to run DayZ. Specs are: CPU: Core i7-6950X RAM: 32GB DDR4 Disk: 1TB M.2 PCIe SSD Network Card: Intel Pro/1000PT dual port adapter OS: Windows 2012R2 Yes, I know the OS is old. No, I'm not "upgrading" to a newer edition of Microsoft's clusterf*** of a server operating system and 2012R2 is the only OS I have a license for from my MSDN days. If I could get DayZ SA to run on Linux without being forced to use some cheese "experimental" branch of DayZ, I would. I'm having a range of issues and all my research either points to server configuration settings that do nothing to improve the situation, or have no meaningful effect on the problem. Issues thus far are: Wildly fluctuating tick rate on the server. At idle, with zero players, the server will sit at 4500 FPS but tank regularly to below 2000. I've seen people showing logs of tick rates well into 10K+. Server tick rate dramatically lowers once everyone is online and playing. I'll see below 2K and it will routinely tank even further when people's clients crash. Players in game will desync when someone loads into the server or when someone's client crashes. This results in vehicles rubber-banding and flipping out all over the place. Players get kicked with some nonsense about an "unstable" connection but I have fiber internet at 1000Mbps synchronous (meaning both upload and download are the same speed). I've even been kicked with this message and I'm on the same gigabit hardwired LAN as the server. I've somewhat eliminated this by setting "maxPing" to some obscenely high setting and setting the "speedhackDetection" to 10. Among my startup options, I'm setting "cpuCount" to 20 but it doesn't have any effect on how much CPU resources DayZ will take. Nor does any of the changes I make in "dayzsettings.xml" seem to have any effect. The DayZ server application still uses just one core, which I'm more attributing to lazy development choices and bad application design than anything else. Since nobody checks the link, I try again this way. Typically "DayZ", game and forum... ========================================================================== To give an exact evaluation you should also have the server configuration files. As rightly said DayZ, even if with the possibility of being configured in multi-thread, still uses ONLY ONE core. What crashes the game is anything that consumes CPU cycles. AI in the first place, if you abuse it. In my experience the vehicles, if they are stationary (parked) do not change almost anything. I have my server on an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X (great for multi-thread but NOT so much for single thread), Mb ASUS B450-Plus Prime, Ram Crucial Ballistix BL2K8G30C15U4B 3000 MHz 8GBx4 and HD Crucial BX500 240 Gb CT240BX500SSD1. No OS from "server", but my old "trusted" W7x64. At idle, with DayZ vanilla I was on 14.000 FPS. Then I started putting on Mod's. Obviously I started with CF and the admin ones. Only when I added the "V++" did the FPS drop to 10.000. Then I added other Mod's (I can post the list if needed). Now, in idle they are on 9/8000, if I enter I go to 6/5.000, if another person enters, it drops to 5/4.000 FPS. I have never tested other people. I increased the number of animals, I slightly increased the number of "static" infected and a bit that of the "dynamic" infected... I have the spawn of vanilla vehicles, in greater numbers, scattered around the map (I do NOT like the trader "shopping center" style, I don't consider it a "real DayZ"). I tried to increase the number of vehicles a lot, but as long as they stay still, nothing (or almost) changes for me. I have all the necessary settings for multi-threading (if needed I can list which ones) and from the MSI-Afterburner graphs I see that DayZ always and only uses one core... that one is almost 100%, the others are "sleeping". If needed I can post some example logs and SS. Sometimes, however, it happens to me that the server starts up and idles with 3/4.000 FPS, sometimes even 2.000... and I never understood why since I haven't even changed important game settings. I've never tried with many people because this has always remained "personal" (when I tried I was unable to enable all the ports to the outside and I could only let people in via direct access with IP). I recently (still a construction site) rented a server on Nitrado, but its FPS is limited up to around 96/97 FPS... whatever I change, it always stays on that value, and this doesn't make it clear what it changes, just hope it never goes under. I think you've all already seen (those who have a server and who also use the Editor), that sometimes, during server restarts, pieces of structures put with the Editor are missing, and you need to restart to get them back. And if I'm not mistaken, I also must have read somewhere about someone having DayZ that used more than one core on him. And to add... To you, is the brightness of the game always good ? Do you always see as clearly as it should? I do not! And I understood it very late and only by pure chance... read this, always me with another nik, without lengthen the text: (H T T P) steamcommunity (com) /app/221100/discussions/0/4943253385013944762/ Before with a GTX 1060 and driver 431.60 the defect made me 1 time out of 6/7 that I entered. Now I have changed with an RTX3060 and put the 474.11 drivers and this defect always makes me. Every time I go in I have contrast shot and brightness stuck at zero and I have to do the procedure described in the link to get the game back to smooth viewing. Also this is "DayZ"... 😛 I guess that's the "usual" problem: DayZ is a very buggy game. And the flaws are not always the same for everyone. Some are for everyone, some others... at someone make defect, some don't. Sure that DayZ is a good "Pandora's Box"... I don't know if what I wrote can be of any help to you, I hope at least it's a consolation that it's a problem for many and not just yours... Excellent advice that the best CPU for DayZ is the one with the greatest computing power for ONLY ONE core. Because this is actually the situation. And... be careful not to overdo the AI, events and the MOD's you add (some consume CPU even if it doesn't seem like it, hoping they are at least done well). 😉 =============================================================================

Hey Survivors! I took some time off of DayZ, about 9mo, but back playing and like the updates/changes we received last year. Moreover, I hope 2023 continues improving our DayZ gaming experience and wanted to share my wishlist of things I’d like to see added/changed for this fiscal year. 2023 Wishlist Have large metal gates and doors stop mid-swing if a survivor blocks it’s path rather than pushing survivors out of the way Make ALL floors and rooftop surfaces function correctly with placing items, there’s always buildings I find that won’t let me properly place objects like barrels and crates for instance Make locked doors more difficult to break into: don’t let punches break a locked door and increase the damage required to unlock a door with melee weapons or tools Better inventory management on console: let survivors organize by size/weight/kind in ascending or descending order easily Place items back into inventory slot they were previously in after using them so inventory stays organized Migrate to new ENFUSION engine: DayZ needs to evolve with current technologies to stay competitive within the survival genre market Engine Update Post Improved Base-building functionality: Add door-sized fence/gate option that’s one-third the normal fence size Fence Sizes Post Prevent gates from clipping through walls when they open Have gates swing inwards if fence is inside a building to prevent wall clipping Allow Base-builders the option to delete props inside of or around buildings that hinder base building like furniture, sacks, shelves, etc… This can occur by aligning fence kit within a space and if there’s any props obstructing the fence kit, they are removed once the fence kit is placed Make it easier to push fence end-posts of multiple fences close together to avoid gaps Reintroduce Leather Tanning for clothes and equipment such as the tanned leather water skin, shoes and outfit Reintroduce ability to dye clothing and tanned leather items Reintroduce Spray Paints to craft different colors on items and create camo pattern Add Apples, Pears, Plums etc… to Livonia like Chernarus Reintroduce Bow and craft-able Bow and arrows Add animation to carry/drag other survivors when captured or unconscious Decrease recovery time from injury and illness by using sleep emote Add craft-able Wood Raised Garden Beds that can be deployed anywhere with planks and nails in 1, 2 and 3 square sizes Fix first-person steering animation so turning the steering wheel doesn’t look like a seizure Reintroduce Radio Recorder & Cassette player and ability to use cassettes in cars Add Car Covers using camo-nets or canvas tarps to conceal vehicles without a car tent Add ability to repair glass windows and windshields of cars Remove vegetation clipping though car floors in first person, guns clipping through roofs in third person and backpacks clipping through car seats *Work in progress, may add/remove items. I try to trap alot of rabbits for food. Wire seems scarce these days. Got me thinking of alternative sources. Rummaging through wrecks for scrap wire could be a neat feature. Perhaps not as strong as snare wire but still useful to trap with.

There needs to be the ability to pull unconscious or dead players out of vehicles. Currently there is no way to help an unconscious friend who in a vehicle, you can't bandage them or administer aid. Getting in a vehicle and occupying the same seat kicks dead players out (have not tested on unconscious) but that is more of a glitch than a feature. It is also not useful if you don't have the required amount of players to fill the available seats (for instance the back of a truck, the upcoming bus etc). The ability to administer aid/interact with a player who is in a vehicle without them needing to get out (provided you have direct access to them) would be nice as well.
