Agree(but add in a harsh weight stamina system aswell), these sort of changes for me personally are more important than vehicles (but thats just me i realize ill be spending far more time on foot than i will in a vehicle and believe these sort of changes will have a large positive effect on the game.
  2. So with vehicles on experimental, and only a matter of time before they hit stable I personally think it's a good time to reduce player run speed back down. It was increased early on and I believe it was Chris Torchia who said it was done by the devs as a favor to the playerbase due to the lack of vehicles (I'm sure some one can dig up the tweet, but this was definitely said). Personally, I feel it was a bit of a mistake, that players would get too accustomed to it and when it is reduced there will be quite a bit of complaints. However, here we are and I think it's time. The run speed is too fast in general, vehicles or not, and is an issue in pvp as well as the flow of the game in other regards. You can run from some spawns to the nwaf in 15 minutes or less, making it trivial to traverse the map. I went back to the mod recently and really the transition back down to a slower speed wasn't so bad. I do think people are going to cry at first, but I think after a week or so everyone will be used to it again and things will feel better overall.     Some DayZ Facts About You...

    I never got to ride in a helicopter in the mod. Every time I'd be around when my group was getting one going we would get either killed by a hacker squad or the server would reset and the helicopter would be gone, replaced by a tractor. Not shitting you there. Once we had a convoy of 3 vehicles heading to a camp, bringing loots and parts for the heli. Server restarted, 2 out of the 3 convoy vehicles were gone, the other turned into a bike and the heli became a farm tractor.

    What none of us want to admit

    Again, that is because THERE IS NEXT TO NOTHING TO DO IN-GAME. Is there base-building? No. Are there (working) vehicles? No. Are there working survival mechanics? Barely. Literally, there is nothing else to do currently in-game with your loot except kill people with it. Literally nothing. We are not saying "fuck you" to PvP, by the way. I engage in PvP all the time. I just got 15 kills in a row with the improvised bow, probably the worst ranged weapon in-game, just for shits and giggles. I (and a lot of other senior members of the forum) certainly aren't afraid to mix it up. We just think that Day Z is, and shall be, more than a shoot-em-up simulator, and we get irked when players state that is what it is supposed to be. It isn't, it is supposed to be a "post-apocalyptic survival game" "post-apocalyptic survival game" "post-apocalyptic survival game" Now, does that mean there is no PvP? Hell no. However, does that mean survival aspects should be lessened or removed entirely to please the "ALL PVP ALL THE TIME" fanboys? Hell no

    Next Vehicle

    I agree, we need a civilian type of rugged truck/suv. Although I wouldn't expect to find any kind of American-made Jeeps in Chenarus. If you look overseas, specifically in Europe, most rugged expedition style vehicles you find are Land Rovers or Toyotas. A pickup would have great utility and cargo space, a 4 seater SUV would be perfect for hauling a small group. My personal suggestions would be an old, dented, beat up, rusty Toyota Pickup/Hilux or Landcruiser. I also agree with the person who suggested the vehicles should have mismatched paint. White body with a blue hood, mismatched doors, a gray fender is realistic. Devs could also offer more spraypaint colors allowing us to spraypaint each panel to match the paint.

    A Stretch for Cars but Maybe one Day?!?

    While I like some parts of your idea I have to say that I think car alarms should be left out. One reason being older vehicles seldom have alarms, and the other reason is that there are plenty of other ways to make it really really hard to get the car anyway. Consider for example the following scenario: You find a car, but x number of tires are flat, the battery is dead, and sparkplugs need changing. Also there is no fuel. Since you're not carrying more than one tire at a time, nor more than one battery at a time, and maybe two cans of fuel, if you're alone this means you will have to travel back and forth to the car no less than 2+x times as a bare minimum. So, now add to this the time it would take you to find the components. Fuel needs a container to be carried in, but say you settle for the one can of fuel so that's one run to and from a fuel source with a jerry can. Perhaps you can use water bottles and canteens or maybe even a cooking pot to carry the fuel, but the water bottles will not be good for water afterwards and the cooking pot will take up both your hands while you carry it, and a mechanic can be added to make you spill a little fuel if using the cooking pot so that you only get a fraction of the fuel to the car. Now find a working battery, carry that heavy bastard to the car, then find a tire and carry that to the car. Then find sparkplugs. What if those are rare? Either way, say you undertake this whole mission to fix the car. What says that someone else already carrying the last missing component doesn't get there and repair it before you? Or simply spot you traveling back and from the car all those times and decide to ambush you? Alright, assume you manage to fix the car at the bare minimum. You now have a weak battery, and a 10% full tank of fuel. So, you get onto the hotwiring (and I'd say skip the hotwire kit. It's not that hard to hotwire older car models. Newer ones are a different matter), and for that you need some tool to break open part of the dashboard, some tool to cut the wires, and then duct tape to insulate the wires so they don't blow a fuse from touching some other wire connections behind the dashboard. This would take a couple of minutes. So, once you're done with that if someone hasn't seen you already (zombie or person) you're lucky. Now comes the exciting part. Have you ever considered how loud the starting engine on an older car model is? Remember that weak battery you put in? It's gonna take a couple of tries to get the engine started. During that time you will be making a lot of noise. If you still manage to survive all this without getting killed you can drive off. I'd say there's no need for car alarms. Also, all of the above makes this hard to do on your own, so it should definitely be a group effort. In closing, I'd like to add the suggestion that they put something similar to this into the game (rare item of course): It works such that the driving gas in the can fills the tire, but it also sprays a mix of solvent and sealant into the tire, so that when the tire spins it coats the inside. This is no permanent fix however. It only allows you to drive a short distance, say to a repair shop. Or in this case, out of the hot zone and into a garage to hide or something like that. :)

    So... Zombies?

    I really hope they put some more focus on zombies to bring them to this state. They are doing quite good on content generation and I'm excited about upcoming vehicles. I feel like they should focus and hammer out these zombies soon. It's a huge part of game-play and in my opinion, real zombie threa is one of the best catalysts for interesting player-player interaction, and one of the fundamental building blocks of the game.

    All those crashes are coming down to one thing I think.. Ragdoll physics Seems like it crashes when anything goes ragdoll, and stays crashed for your character until that body despawns, now allowing you to spawn in. It actually may be a somewhat easier fix to get vehicles working properly. Im gonna guess, tentatively that we might get lucky and see this in stable soon here.

  19. Well definitely there should be a lot of customization options and that would be really cool, but please think of the poor old developers when you ask for "endless possibilities", okay? Hey, could you please add the 'vehicles should be craftable from scratch, And found perfectly working, and repairable' option? None of your poll answers tickles my fancy. Please don't take this the wrong way but the poll feels a little slanted, you have no degree in between "Military vehicles should be more common than civilian ones!" and "Military vehicles should be super rare"

    Player interactions are bit different with 1PP but the view also affects how you deal with the zombies. With 3PP you don't get surprised so easily. Same things that 3PP has effect on PVP it also have the same effects against zombies. Also vehicles have more restricted view in 1PP. PVP and player interaction aren't the only things that gets different with 1PP...

    In-depth clothing idea

    With all the work it would take, it's probably better at the moment for them to be putting work into vehicles, weapons, food, crafting, zombies, the environment, survivalism, base building, and even when they've done all that I personally would rather see them spend all their time optimising and bugfixing than this. They've spent enough time on clothing options already. Shouldn't taking off the jacket and putting it in your backpack solve the problem?

DayZ Group Managment This is a port of the Wasteland group management dialog. Groups can communicate using group chat VON and typing (requires radio). When players accept a group invite they are automatically tagged as friends using the Epoch system. Kicking, leaving or disbanding the group will remove friend status. Only the leader can kick members, invite members and disband the group. Group membership is persistent through changing clothes, but wiped upon relog or death. Use the right ctrl key or right clicking your radio to open the menu. Elevators Scroll on a metal floor you built and click upgrade to elevator it tells you the parts you need then when you upgrade with the required parts in your inventory it becomes a elevator then you can place elevator stops above the elevator by upgrading a metal floor to a Elevator you can make as many stops for as many floors as you want. Extra buildings Military base at NWAF patrolled by AI with lootable crates Multiple city enhancements. Many extra military barracks . Heli Evac chopper To make a evac chopper you need a helicopter,the key for the heli and 2 Breifs. To start making a evac heli move the heli to the place you want your evac heli landing pad to be and then scroll on the outside of the helicopter that you want to make your evac heli then select Set Evac Heli and it will start building your evac heli. After its built if your 500M or more away from your chopper you can call it too you (as long as its not destroyed,not heavily damaged,its on the landing pad and it has fuel) by right clicking the radio in your gear and left clicking Call Evac Heli then it will turn on autopilot and fly its self to you. Remote key FOBS If your within 150M from your vehicle you can right click the key for your vehicle then you can lock,unlock or remotely start the engine of your vehicle (you can also use this to lock the doors when your inside of your vehicle).(Dont worry about the locked vehicle take no damage script because if a players still in a vehicle even if its locked it will take damage). Recover clothes from dead Recover the clothes from a dead players or AIs body by looting the clothes from there gear. When the player/ai is killed the clothing they were wearing spawns on there corpses gear. Roaming/Patrol AI Roaming AI patrol the map in UH1Hs,Medical Blackhawks/UH60Ms,AN2 cargo planes,UAZs,White SUVS,Yellow 350Zeds,Swat Cop Car,APD patrol police car & on foot. They are very hostile so its probably a good idea to shoot them on site. Trader Safezones This trader safezone script which is active at all traders (except shore IE boat dealer) protects from backpack stealing,vehicle ramming,Zeds,AI/NPCS,Other players shooting & gives you god mode while your in a trader safezone. Trader Vehicle/Skin preview After youve highlighted a skin or vehicle in the trader menu press F5 to view a preview of the skin/vehicle and the gear capacity fuel capcity etc and a actual view of it that you can control (press f5 again to exit). Self blood bag Right click the blood bag in your gear then left click self transfuse gives 4K blood.If your near a ambulance vehicle or a hospital the amount of blood given is 8K. Snap building pro After starting the positioning process on the object you want to snap align scroll your mouse wheel and click toggle build snapping and you can move it around and even drop it and pick it back up while still in the building fase. Custom commands: /Killme (kill yourself) /boogie (dance) /Boxing (Box) and more! Day/Night Vote script/2 Hour day 1 hour night "reserved space" Weed(Drugz) Gather weed from weed farms that are randomly spread over the map by right clicking your knife in your gear while in a weed farm then click harvest weed,then right click the weed in your gear then click #420 Blaze It for a hard hitting joint or mellow joint for a light hit. (Warning! you should only do this if you have a good GPU as its very intense fast flashing in colors & if you havent at any seizure problems IRL) Zombie camo Hide from zombies so they dont attack or notice you until you run or fire your weapon or wash off the camo (washes off in rain or by using water source). To apply the camo make sure you have 2 zombie guts in your gear then right click one of the zombie guts and click 'apply camo'. This is run off a dedicated box with the following.99.5% Up Time (0.5% is restarts maitmence/updates or unfortuanate power/internet outages barely happens though).4 GHz 8 Core CPU,4 TB of storage (500GB just for this servers backups),16 GB of RAM and a 1 Gigabit Up and down load speeds (Running off fiber optic ISP).Have fun and post on the forums if you have a problem.
