A good gaming computer is about $600. Unless your going for uber leetness, that doesn't make sense.

I wonder what you consider a "good" computer? You don't get much more than the worst piece of crap on the market for 600 USD.... I spent maybe 1700-2000 USD (roughly do not know what the exchange rate was at the time) on my current computer (including monitor) and it wasn't even high end when it was new, would easily have to spend the double for a really good one.

will there be more things to do such as, new clothes to wear, new zombie types, new ways of transportation, more customization and more options?

If you spent almost $2000 USD on a computer that wasn't absolutely amazing, you did it wrong or you live in a country where PC parts are blatantly overpriced. $600-$800 can build a very respectable gaming machine, anything over $1200 is quite high end, and over $1500 approaches God-tier and needless overkill. 4 grand for a PC is stupid, you're getting very ripped off there.

This is awesome! Now that this is stand alone, i'm sure many more of my friends are going to be willing to pay for it, rather than buying 2 games and a mod

This really pisses me off. For about 3 years I've been gaming on a machine with a single core intel pentium 4 at 3.00ghz, 1.5gb ram, 500gb HDD, 1.5GB DDR1 RAM and Windows XP. I'm no kiddie, I'm 15 and in about 3 weeks will be custom-building a gaming computer for $700 AUD. Not everyone can afford a mega badass gaming computer straight off, I pity those who can. Since I've grown up around refurbished machines I've taught myself how to build/upgrade a computer. Comments like this are really shallow, immediately making the assumption that everyone with an old computer is a "little kiddie" with no job.

Asus P6T Deluxe v2

990x (purchased on flea bay for $470)

24GB 1600 Mhz Ram

Corsair H80

Fractal Design XL

Mushkin Chronos SD

2 x 1tb Caviar Blacks

Sata 3 expansion card

FW800 card

OSx 10.8 (Mountain Lion)

This is all for my work comp, a beast of an audio/video editing rig I use mostly for production and mixing. But then the kicker is you add an HD and put Win 7 on it an EVGA GTX680 and you're good to go for just about every game on full blast.

Only downside is I don't get enough work done when all of my games are a simple reboot away :P

At least people are generally agreeing at this point that they would be willing to spend (X) amount of money on the game. As opposed to simply bitching that the already spent money on the mod. The only issue I see is the competition with The War Z - I understand some people (myself) will buy both, many will want to "wait and see which is best" before committing to buying one or the other.

This is terrific news, and I'm so excited to see this come to life. The night effects of Arma III's engine are BEAUTIFUL - and I REALLY hope the mod takes advantage of the night. Zombie worlds just aren't as great in the day as they are in the night.

In E3 BIS promised that community alpha will be out this SUMMER! Liars!

Really? Ivan Buchta stated the the Arma 3 community Alpha was going to be delayed until some time after gamescon. The reason being because of a new version of physx (3.0 I believe).

wow crazy comments about warZ the game looks and sounds complete pants. it could just about pass as a cartoon it looks horrible. not to mention the wow/battlefield template shite. id bet money on it that half of thoughs features they spouted as well didnt even come to the table until dayZ took the world by storm. poor poor imitator of a gritty nasty realistic superb survival zombie game, nothing else comes close.

QFT!

I dont get it. You guys tell rocket "MOEM, we want it for Free because we bought armaII...!" You are no Part of this Community! If you were a Part of us you Would understand that your 20€ or whatever have been paid to Pay rocket and Team for their excellent work and to Support them to have enough Money to for example make the arma3 Engine a better One!!!!!!!!!!!!111111 elf

This is fantastic news and it will be great to have a more complete engine which is less prone to cheating. It would be better to see development instead of support for the DayZ mod, although this would obviously have to be offloaded to someone with Rockets vision.

Haha, I've always been "green", just had to advertise it in response to recent events.

The "One-line questions for Rocket" thread will be answered by Rocket in future.
