Laniakea 1 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) REPORT:Installed latest patch (94997)Installed Battleye update with link on first pageNo issues encounteredJoined one of our team's regular servers that had updated to patch and checked on tents : All was well; all items still in place.Joining was much faster than 94876 (skipped 94945 altogether), and never saw the "character creating" screen so prevalent in 94876.Moved to another server I had never been on to test further. I and another member of my team spent 2+ hours on this server and, though the server crashed twice in that time (nothing new there, doubt it was patch related), framerates were smoother for us than 94876. Zeds have been a definite improvement from 1.7.1.5; much more dangerous when doing something stupid, but also easier to lose around buildings/trees/bushes. Some sighting behavior was suspect, so the detection variables could probably use some tweaking, but never had the unresponsive zeds others have reported. Sound detection is sketchy though. Firing unsilenced weapons in what should be their detection zone went unnoticed by many of them, while others heard us just fine. One thing we couldn't check for due to lack of a heli was their spawn rate: in 94876, the rate was seriously messed up. (eg: killing all zeds at a heli site, and having a new batch spawn on top of us about 2-3 minutes later, most of them aggroed) Overall though, we agreed that the zeds' behaviour is moving in the right direction game-wise, and with a little more tweaking should hit 'gold' status soon.About 2 hours ago, we had several more teammates show up, and we sent them here for the update procedure. Some got on easily, while others were getting Battleeye errors no matter what they did. When trying other servers, some worked, and some did not. Just as I was leaving, the servere I had been on crashed and restarted. Some of the people who had been having problems earlier re-tried and were able to get on after the reset. We can only assume Battleye is doing some updating on its own and may be a reason others have been having problems in this thread.Hope this helps. flawlesssoul 30 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) For those who are crashing after updating BattlEye - use the Uninstall BattlEye links on the Start menu (Should be under All Programs > Bohemia Interactive > ArmA 2 and ArmA 2 OA folders). Once ALL copies of BattlEye are uninstalled (you can search for the DLLs in your ArmA2 dir to be sure), then run the 94997 beta installer again. It will reinstall Battleye, and then you need to copy over the updated DLLs again. If you're getting deleted/missing file errors when starting ArmA2+DayZ, make sure your shortcut/launcher/Steam is running the correct target - it usually happens when the path is incorrect in the shortcut. (I use ArmA Launcher - http://www.armaholic...age.php?id=8241 - and it has the option to create a shortcut based on the settings you select. I set it up so that it didn't load splash screens, auto-loaded chernarus, and started the beta version with DayZ. Then I used it to create a shortcut on my desktop.)I played quite happily solo for about four hours - went from Cherno to Elektro on foot, and back again. Would have been nice to have a vehicle! I didn't stick to one server, but used two or three over the course of my journey (logged out twice to take a break, picked a different server on return). Everything seemed stable and smooth - had some desynch, but never a disconnect. Movement at night does seem to alert zombies more easily, or maybe I wasn't being cautious enough. vitdom 56 Posted July 17, 2012 Movement at night does seem to alert zombies more easily, or maybe I wasn't being cautious enough.Hehe, I practically touched the zombies at night and ran past them, firing unsilenced bullets but the zombies were acting like they are really the walking dead, lol. jaynich 12 Posted July 17, 2012 They need to add an option to specify the location of your primary arma installation.I like to run multiple installations to test new betas and if I dont like them I dont have to reinstall.
Shaun of the Dead 36 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Downloaded and logged into a server. "Shaun died" and I spawned in the Wilderness with nothing. Still have my 13 zombie kills though.Changed servers and now I'm on the coast instead with nothing. Still a 17th day character apparently though.Downgrading to 94945 just gets me stuck on "waiting for host" Edited July 17, 2012 by Shaun of the Dead
Boby (DayZ) 0 Posted July 17, 2012 They need to add an option to specify the location of your primary arma installation.I like to run multiple installations to test new betas and if I dont like them I dont have to reinstall. All it would take is a registry edit. You could do up a bunch of batch files that change your game location and run the game.

bshth 1 Posted July 17, 2012 uh... Is there a way to roll back the patch? I installed old version of Arma 2 beta patch and reinstalled (in steam) BattleEye, it gives me BEClient.dll error... Any idea?
Druig 7 Posted July 17, 2012 Working great so far.Looking forward to the mandatory update, so that every Server is running the same version again.
RicardoCCH (DayZ) 26 Posted July 17, 2012 I have the steam version of Arma2:CO.Downloaded the patch 94997 and installed.Launched game, filtered servers to 94997, and when joining, i was always being kicked by battleeye.Dowloaded the BattleEye Updater, and installed it.All is running fine now. Mowb 0 Posted July 17, 2012 I also have the steam version of the game but still not working, even after manually updating the battleEye files I still get "initialization failed". Did the steam users have to change their path or location or something? And also the battleye site is quite confusing me. It has 2 different versions on it being v1.61.94876 and v1.61.94945+. For the first one it says you need to put those DLL's in the original ARMA2 battleye folder and in the OA battleye folder. For the 2nd version it only mentions the OA expansion> battleye folder. So is there some flaw in the way I updated or am I just one of the unlucky guys who'll have to wait for an official/automatic update :P
Dajnamajt 1 Posted July 17, 2012 We're testing the latest arma2 build 94997 on some servers. If more server hosters want to try it out they can.Be aware that there are a few things you need to be aware of:Apart from having to install the update on both server and client: http://cdn.armafiles...Build_94997.zipYou also need to install the BattleEye patch that can be found here: http://cdn.armafiles...lEyeARMA2OA.exeIf the BE executable update doesnt work you'll need to upgrade your DLL files manually. The DLL files can be found here:http://www.battleye.com/download.html This patch fixes a number of issues. If your server/client was already running 94945 we recommend upgrade.Known issue:Sometimes players get kicked for "bad name" - workaround is to try editing your profile to change name.Or worst case create a new fresh profile. And where do i put the DLL file? :)
SupaFly1983 52 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Worked perfectly for me. But let me provide some info as a lot of people seem to be having issues, so here are some steps in the most basic manner I can put them.1) Download the .ZIP file of the beta patch (Build_94997) from Anders first link.2) Extract the beta to a folder (doesn't matter where, I just put mine on the desktop)3) Go to http://www.battleye.com/download.html and download BE Client for Windows (32-bit) and BE Server for Windows (32-bit). NOTE:- Very important! Get the files that appear UNDER the heading of v1.61.94945+ NOT! from under v1.11 / v1.60 / v1.61.94876. Save these files to a folder on your desktop (for the moment, we will be doing something with these!)4) Open up the location of the Battle Eye folder in the Expansion folder for ArmA II OA. I have the Steam version so for me it is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\BattlEye5) Re-name (or delete, up to you) BEClient.dll and BEServer.dll to somthing like BEClient.old and BEServer.old. this means you at least have a backup of the old dll files if things go pear shaped.6) Take the newly downloaded dll files from Step 3, and copy them to the location in Step 47) Run the beta patch exe from step 2. (If Wrong CD Key comes up, just OK past it. It should install anyway)8) Launch arma2oa.exe located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta (I recommend added a shortcut to your desktop for easy access into arma)9) Go to Multiplayer, put in a filter of 94997 and join a serverIf you get the "kicked by battleye for bad name" error. Create a new profile, and log into a 94997 server. Once you are in you can disconnect and delete the new profile and revert to your old one. This worked for me.EDIT: I did exactly the same steps for a friend of mine, and I got the "Battleye Initialization Failed" message people have been talking about. This is how I fixed it1) After all of the above steps I quit ArmA II to desktop, and uninstalled Battleye (Start > All Programs > Bohemia Interactive > Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead > Battleye > Uninstall Battleye)2) Deleted the beta folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta) NOTE: Make sure you delete the correct folder.3) Installed the beta patch I had downloaded from Step 1 at top of post.4) Launched into Arma2 (Step 8 above)5) Attempted to launch multiplayer game (1.7.2.3 beta 94997) to see if it would force downloading of Battleye (It didn't)6) At this point, I Alt+Tab'ed back to desktop leaving ArmA 2 open!7) I copied the DLL files from Step 3 in first post, to its location correct location (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\BattlEye)8) Launched another multiplayer game (1.7.2.3 beta 94997) and battleye worked fine.I'm not sure if having ArmA 2 open already, when I copied the battleye files to their location is what made it work, or if it was a bit of luck.I know that Battleye doesn't even initialize until you load into a game, so it shouldn't have made a difference when the DLL files were copied.Anyone else having the above issue, try this solution and let me know if it works for you. Mowb 0 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Thing is I installed the patch but I'm still getting bad version error when I try to join a 94997 server. It also says wrong CD key as mentioned, but if I click install anyway, the installation takes like half a second. Is this normal for it to be so fast cuz I have the impression it just didn't install the update even if it said so.nvm: bad version error gone, BattlEye initialization failed again. Sigh Edited July 17, 2012 by Mowb

Ceallach 56 Posted July 17, 2012 AndersI joined a few other servers after I couldn't Join mine as I had reverted the patch back and batteleye auto updated to 1.163 so hopefully that's the release out there.I'm guessing as early patch adopters we run the risk of problems etc...Same problem, couldn't join yours.By the way, I can't send you a PM, maybe you have a full inbox?
Zoulja 1 Posted July 17, 2012 94997 works well for me, BUT when I restart six-launcher it seems to revert me back to the old beta, so for some reason I have to run the patch every single time I want to join a 94997 server.
Dajnamajt 1 Posted July 17, 2012 So I have a new problem, now I connect to the server (US106 (NJ3)) and I get the whole DayZ deleted files error.Whatdo?-EDIT:I got it all working. Turns out there was a problem with the @DayZ folder. Not sure why, but a beta was installed there. Oh well, fixed it!How did you fix this?
The Scrub 56 Posted July 17, 2012 Installed last night and played with no issues. Noticed a nice big FPS jump from 40 to a solid 60 and even up to 70 whilst running through open ground.
