Addressing Current Game Issues

We would like to address some of your concerns about the game and talk about bug reporting in DayZ.

Our team is aware that some elements of the game are not working as intended, and we appreciate the feedback you have been providing us.

The console version is facing a few problems with some particular items. Night vision goggles and car's headlights are not working as they should and will be fixed once the update 1.05 releases. We are also working on the item duplication exploit a.k.a. "duping", and we will introduce some fixes to mitigate its occurrence. We can't still provide a specific date but we are working hard to have the update 1.05 released on console as soon as possible.

We also know that some of you are not happy with the current state of the base building and the bleeding mechanics.

- Bleeding: the team is monitoring feedback on this topic to see how the recent changes are accepted;
- Base building/raiding: we will rebalance the entire process, starting from the resource gathering and building, up to the destruction process.

The DayZ dev team is always working on game balance, and adjusting it in every update in order to provide you a better gaming experience.

Instead of a specific date, can you give us a general idea of when 1.05 will be released? Will it be September? October? 

 

Also, improved base building and balancing would be amazing. It would add a much more dynamic aspect to the game if it were and more people would be inclined to actually create something.

Soooooo... Are you guys going to fix cars despawning after server crashes or....? It makes cars useless. Long time players want to gear cars up for a reason.

Will we ever get more base stuff to build or is what we have going to be it? The current implementation is so.. simple and boring. I want advanced base building like other games have. The game Raft for example has fun base building mechanics, even the ability to paint stuff.

1. Desync issues.

2. Vehicle despawning and driving physics.

3. Inventory management.

4. Better admin controls and whitelisting.

 

Address these issues and stop wasting our time.

Yes. high end weapons spawn in limited quantities and are rare, on purpose. Their max values are affected when stashed (tents/barrels/buried/etc). So that combined with any duping makes them rarer.

Honestly, I just want you to fix whatever it is Nitrado has going on with console servers and restarts. I had mine set to restart at Noon and Midnight. Now something called "NITRAPI" requests restarts. Went to where I have the "timed restarts" now that section is named "automated tasks" so deleted my restarts I had set... tried to schedule them again. For some reason, the times are all weird. I put in Minute: 59 Hour: 11 and it comes up some totally different time. So I think ok... I'll just set it so it will "hopefully" restart at the right time I want. So I set it like this: game_server_restart Minute: 59 , Hour: 8 Next Run: 20-09-2019 11:59:00  game_server_restart Minute: 59 , Hour: 20 Next Run: 20-09-2019 23:59:00
Wait around until 11:59 to see if it works... nope. But restarts itself at 1:29... Or actually... bluescreens... but the point is there was no restart at 11:59... not even at 8:59.

I don't know what they got going on with that... but it worked perfectly for three days until this NITRAPI Restarts started happening yesterday. 

You guys really should have picked a better service provider for the private servers. Before I attempted to set some timed restarts it was restarting itself at random with no warning. Thought I had fixed that by setting times for it to restart so my people would have some prewarning. NOPE. Nitrado makes some changes and whole song and dance started over again. 

I mean if this is something I need to tweak and someone knows what to do, just let me know. All I know is it was working great for 3 days. Right restart times. Then Nitrado changed something and it's chaos yet again. And while this is Nitrado's f-up... it still reflects bad on Dayz as well because you made the choice to choose a provider who can't give server owners any form of routine.

Congrats for the concern but no mention of poor rendering desync. So I'm guessing that means your not fixing the biggest issue that the ps4 players are suffering from.   

 

No communication from you for weeks then some random trivial fix to keep people quiet

Wow that was interesting......  is that what community support is/does these days?  What a joke.

If you dont have anything to say please just dont post.  Especially not how to get and use the feedback tracker. 

How about actually work on that list, it sure is filled enough

If you were Bohemia, wouldn't all your efforts be going into Vigor? Despite the console release, I get the vibe that 95% of Bohemia is focused where there are loot crates to be sold. Are there any assets that are usable across both titles? Seems like DayZ is already abandoned and the console release is/was just a final money grab.

Tbh consoles are literally cash grabs for every game especially for DayZ and with that money they made from dumb console people they will improve the game for everybody... DayZ on console is bad because consoles are weak and weird (controllers vs keyboard and mouse) if you want to have a nice experience on DayZ with a console buy an SSD... DayZ is less intensive now on the storage but ArmA 3 oh boy it i got an FPS boost and fps stability from switching to an SSD imagine how ArmA would run on consoles oof... That's why arma is never coming to consoles perfomance and controls... DayZ is a different genre that somewhat fits on a console but still it's on an like edge of console vs pc and it's leaning more on PC and since DayZ in this state that it is rn.. It's more of a Beta now it's a future title... Meaning its kinda made for next gen consoles which are like a year or 2 away... Hopefully y'all Console players will get free DayZ for PS5 and what ever next Xbox is gonna be called if you decide to switch if ya know what i mean

Xbox Side of the house. On of the Biggest things that we have been facing on our Private server is, We need more control over our own servers. There are alot of other hosting services out there. Or you guys need to open up more options to us. We are in 1.04, not beta anymore guys. It was stated that we would have more options when dayz came out of beta. Base building is kinda like, whats the point if you can have your ultimate roll of duck tape and destroy everything in a few minutes. I get that nothing is safe. But you need to be invested to be able to take a wall down. Especially if the wall is enforced. It takes hours and gear to get what you need to build a base. it takes 2 minutes or less to take it down. That discourages the player base to move on from dayz............ If your going to take down a wall you should be ready to spin the next 20 to 30 minuets and going through a few tools to get in. I want to see more upgrades to walls. I want stone walls(crafting with Stones) better locks, Traps that stay tell they are triggered (landmines, bear Traps, Snares"trip lines" with granades). Breaking legs should be in game. dont know why it was so hard to add it back. The Zeds have that feature when you shot them in the legs. I want what was taken away back in game, there was really no reason to take it away in the first place.  Dupping and other "bugs" seem more like a secret feature then bugs. I have been here since Dayz standalone first came out, I am at that point now to walk away myself.

Right now the inventory management including glitched magazines and weapons that can't be loaded, inventory items getting stuck in cars, tents, backpacks, on bodies, etc.  is what is really affecting my (and my groups) gameplay.    .....that and the fact that we can't drive a car without lag/freezes that can easily end in crashes.  You have to travel around 20KPH everywhere and hope you don't encounter a sudden screen freeze.

I can't tell you how many times we each have to log out and then back in to our server to try and fix the inventory / loading issues.  .....and that doesn't always work.  It really sucks to find an M4, mags and acc's only to have the weapon "glitch" and rendered useless because it can't be loaded, etc.  

IMO, you folks should spend more of your time optimizing and fixing some of these game breaking bugs.   ......have to say I was also a little burned up hearing that the duct tape glitch would be fixed in 1.05 when these other larger issues remain unresolved.  I mean, why fix a bug like that which actually helps people out a bit when there are so many bugs that unfairly handicap us already?  .....priorities man.

Thanks for the communication. I would however appreciate CARS being part of this adressing pressing issues. It's ONE of the currently TWO available endgame goals next to base-building and it's broken, because the cars you worked so hard for can just randomly despawn and get destroyed. I KNOW that you are aware of it and that it is being worked on as of THIS ticket [https://feedback.bistudio.com/T139497], but I was really hoping for some updated information in this post. Maybe we can get it now? Please!

Why not add more stuff for base building? Like rock walls from the rocks you get when you mine or sand bag walls by using burlap sacks and filling them up with dirt or sand idk

If that's for telling shit, please just pass your way...

This topic is about games bugs and improvment.

Lot of game works great on console, and if controller is implemented the right way (for ex : using the PS4 touch pad for inventory), it can  be fine.

 

For the OP :

- Fix cars : physics (flying and rolling cars first, then adjust it like in real life, were you can climb a hill faster than 15 Km/h), despawn, freeze and stuck issue.

- Fix inventory, like items stuck in tents/barels, or the fact that if there is a lot of loot in a tent/barel, navigate the stuff is a pain in the *ss (some item won't even appear, they're in hidden slots).

- ADD TOUCHPAD for PS4 inventory management!

- Make battery powered scopes work again (most are broken since 1.04)

- so many things i forgot...

So true...

I wasn't using this glitch, but after 2 cars despawn, 1 stuck in a tree (because of freezing issue), 2 flying others, one character wiped (good bye the only KA-74 i ever found...) and closing public server that made us loose 3/4 of our stuff (how to travel with 1500+ slots between servers with anti-hoping system? Not talking about moving barels, or car lost in the process...), i reward myself with now just one duct tape... (before character wipe bug, i had sewing and leather sewing kit, firearms kit, duct tape, always on me, because i hate glitching, but i'm so bored with all that bugs...)

And i can tell the same with the sewing kit for patching wounds, actually it's 100 patch per kit, after 1.05 it will be 5...

But hey, duct tape "glitch" and sewing kit (not a glitch i believe) are issues that HARD BREAK THE GAME 🤣

If you need some inspiration how the community wants the base building to be done:

 

 

And Bleeding is nearly fine. But you bleed out too fast. Just rebalance the ammount of blood per secound so that you have the chance to bandage after you wake up after beeing uncon.
