bent.toe 529 Posted February 24, 2019 Still had my character (no big update?) and joined the highest populated server which was low and started walking down to berezino... 15 minutes in i saw a guy further down the road who had seen me and crouched behind a bush, i kept jogging toward him (weapon on shoulder) when he ran out and started shooting at me with the shotty, i jumped left and right and continued going forward, when he started to reload i shot him with the AKM. Not a hint a trying to communicate or be friendly. This game need a TDM mode on console, everyone is just out for a kill. Why even bother with Dayz then? Anyway, will give it a go again after 1.0 Have a good day guys.

But every now and then we run into a guy like you- ready to play the game out and have a cautious interaction. Good people are out there- just got to play the game one interaction at a time and watch out for fuckery.
Red_Ensign 990 Posted February 25, 2019 I'd say more than half of my random encounters have been non-threatening. I just give a quick wave and take off and they usually don't bother following me. I don't even have a mic on 99% of the time.
aux7 234 Posted February 25, 2019 (edited) I started writing, but then I realised that what I had written wasnt true so I went through my encounters this year so far this year only four of my encounters have been friendly, seven were KOS - (me being killed . . I had nothing, no weapons, etc) not including two encounters where the other person couldnt have hit a barn door at ten paces and I left . . . and four encounters where I ran, but you could say they tried to KOS. one by wolves three by zombies two by ladder . .. .the antenna tower, and prison island chimney one by car so 22% friendly, 39% KOS, and 39% environment . . . adding the attempteds . .. . 17% friendly, 54% KOS, and 29% environment . . . From my side, I am friendly. I dont always have my mike on, but I do wave and I dont generally have a weapon in my arms. . . so far this year, I havent killed anyone . . . . DayzDayzFanboy 1280 Posted February 25, 2019 I've had more friendly encounters than hostile. Generally, if I go on US servers I find the players more hostile. I tend to stick with NL servers.
lex__1 168 Posted February 25, 2019 (edited) In DayZ, in the most part, there is no game culture. Players have more chance to get a bullet in a back, than the help from players in fight against the zombie. In DayZ there is not enough karma parameter which defines visibility of the player for the zombie and the probability to meet them even in the forest. The more the player accepts such nature of behavior as murder of other players, the more difficult to it has to be in the world of DayZ. I think, any progress \regress of the character will stimulate players. Conditions on any penalties when the player can keep or lose the equipment after murder by players or zombie are also necessary. To fall from the top point of the card to the bottom - makes exhaustion in this game. It is a lot of players on servers which seek for "murder trolling". Such players wait for the victims in secluded places, near places where the player can receive equipment. Why to look for the equipment in the cities, it is necessary to hit the guy who already collected everything, made this work instead of you. The player has to have an opportunity to change "karma" - to receive the task "exempt any city from the zombie", the big city that it had to ask for help of other players. BIS, only you do not say that to teach players to game behavior, you do not want that it has to occur without your participation. AndrzejHook 78 Posted February 25, 2019 lol the amount of threads created about people crying that they are being shot on site is funny. This game simply sucks on XBOX... No server persistence, people always killing you, lack of weapons and vehicles, and in the end , after spending weeks and weeks of playing, nothing saves, no stats, no bases, no gear(due to server resets for pointless updates), no night mode(only 5 min long?) So what's left to do in this game??!?! Well let me tell you.. Get a gun, any gun you can find, and kill other people for fun, see if you can surivive a battle. Until they fix dayz to be a more pleasurable experience that is rewarding, then people will just continue to kill on site because there's always gonna be a bored Timmy sitting in his basement going around killing people. aux7 234 Posted February 25, 2019 "lol the amount of threads created about people crying that they are being shot on site is funny." not complaining, merely commenting I could have shot five guys, easily, because I saw them and they didnt see me. (no ghillie suit) On pc we have an hour (mostly) of (very dark) night mode
