So I was logging on earlier, and noticed a test server on my list.  

Rampant speculation and hype train to follow...

It was for version .61.134856.  It's not like I take it to mean they are pushing this week, but it is something.

I think there was test server last week or two weeks ago. Im so disapointed that I dont even hope any more. And when experimental finally gets here, Im sure I wont be able to get in server in first ten days.

Get in queue and alt+tab to do something else while you're waiting for your turn. After some time you're in and ready to play. Server and/or client crashes -> repeat.

Yea im not gonna hold my breath for this week , even if it does come out it's gonna be like this : broken vehicles (maybe non at all) maybe wolves (probably not) "dynamic zombie spawns" that is supposed to bring bigger numbers and better spread of zombies , which seems like the only thing that will actually be exciting for the next update . Maybe the new sound engine will be in , overall I just want to get done with .61 so we can go back to at least having vehicles work (big bummer that they are all fucked up for sooo many patches now).

From what I understand there will be no vehicles in .61, broken or otherwise.

I personally wouldn't mind if they also implemented stamina at the same time and made everybody walk everywhere.

Sorry not sorry, I have very little sympathy for the "I only have 2 hours to play", crowd.

With any luck, hopefully .61-->.62 will be a comparatively short cycle, given what we have seen for the start of this year.

Otherwise, without the vehicles, we'll at least get a few good weeks of getting attacked by wolves while traversing the map on foot.  Though I can't really get on board with forcing stamina system on a patch where vehicles are non-existent.

Getting the scopes working on the FAL should stretch my enjoyment of the game for at least a few more weeks.

It seems like they're leaning towards not having wolves in either. When I hear "cautiously optimistic" from the devs for this game I just read it as "probably not gonna happen" lol. My foot is looking tasty though...

I think "cautiously optimistic" is Hicks' way of saying "very likely, but please don't keel-haul me if something prevents it from happening as planned."

I've noticed that phrase gaining popularity in his vocabulary more and more lately.  I would say that there is almost a direct relationship between usage of that phrase and vitriol over missed timeline goals this past year.

Don't worry @Kohlbar, I'm cautiously optimistic that those wolves will be bork, bork, borking at your heels in no time.

The only reason i think i ever used a vehicle for was to steal someones stash, or go loot up fast and drive off.

Lets say my average life span driving most of them was .25% a chance.

I did like the sedan, and the hatchback, drove right. I liked the bus too, but it was just too slow in 1st.
