The sedan has 2 pristine tires and 2 worn and drives like i'm in the movie fargo meaning like shit. does it need pristine battery and sparkplug? blackberrygoo 1416 Posted December 20, 2015 (edited) Physics of the cars get "lost" when the tires are A) not all pristine , B ) one or more of the tires is in the ground (or appears to be) , or C) the csr has been bumped too many times and now has lost its physics until you get it off of the hill it's sliding down , or until you replAce all tires with pristine tires .... Kirov (DayZ) 585 Posted December 20, 2015 (edited) OP, I haven't found the sedan yet but the offroad doesn't seem any better. I had all pristine tires and on the highway Cherno-Elektro I was on my roof after 5 minutes. Yeah, seems like I lost control at the 4th or 5th gear. I guess I didn't expect it after the truck and bus, both driving like a tractor. Funny thing, the bus seems to be unable to exit either Cherno or Elektro via the Northern route i.e. uphill, even via roads. I think you're kind stuck to that coastal highway. EDIT: I just read that everyone reports that the bus is useless. One more thing, where did you find your sedan? I'm currently doing something of a sedan hunt through Cherno suburbs, but so far the only vehicle I get to find is the bus at Novoselky. pillock 850 Posted December 20, 2015 (edited) Drove the Lada fake-jeep-thing yesterday, and couldn't get above 3rd gear. Does it have a 4th/5th? Then I wrapped it round a tree and ruined the engine parts. Ah well, fun while it lasted. The driving controls and physics need some work, for sure. Plus there seem to be bugs associated with carrying passengers: character displayed standing next to vehicle when in 3rd person view (even when the vehicle's moving!), but sitting inside the car on 1st person; can't use "co-driver" seat if there is a driver in there already. Oh, and the engine sounds are really crap! Given that this was my first DayZ session for several months, I was very impressed by the game's progress overall though. Once you get over the "newness" of it, you will find it very useful. You can also loot an entire building from the ground floor, either a bug, or a consideration for our safety, as stairs and ladders have, again, been resulting in senseless deaths. When driving a vehicle, any small error, or possibly spikes of lag or desync can result in damaged wheels, or wheels being sunk slightly into the map. Rotating and repairing the tires will likely fix this immediately; a process that takes only seconds using the new UI. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

eno 1049 Posted December 20, 2015 I pummel around in the offroad in 4th gear all the time- but wasn't able to at first because of the ridiculous pull to the left. I was told that if I rotated the tires that might rectify it. I also used a tire repair kit to ensure they were all pristine. It doesn't show anything in the messages- but you can see damaged go to pristine if you use it. From there I was able to at least hit the straights and slight turns in 4th... but yes going through town in 4th is asking for troubles considering you can get high centered on a blade of grass. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

As to car parts, I haven't had a single issue with the old UI. You can look in the hood to interact with the plugs/battery. Taking the tires off is just looking at them with the proper tools. I guess I've just gotten used to it, and don't want to switch back and forth. But yeah, looting tents from apartments with new UI is ridiculously easy now. I kinda feel scuzzy about grabbing loot three stories up without stepping off the ground floor. Makes getting a fire axe less likely to result in alphadeath, though. It is still WIP, and has some minor issues. you do not see status at this time, the icons that should appear in the bottom of your screen aren't working right now, and have been disabled. I have gotten used to just eating and drinking as often as I can, to maintain good health. Think of it as ultra-hardcore mode for the time-being, or switch back and forth between old and new UI, if you really cannot cope with the lack of status feedback. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
