Note that there *is* a bug related to unconsciousness.  For example, just two days ago I was shot and went unconscious.  I received THREE salines and an epi-pen.  Nothing.  Had to respawn.  Not sure what causes it, though.

indeed i've been known to step over a enemy and put a few magnum rounds in them to make sure.

Something similar happened to me. I was shot and went unconscious and woke up bleeding and the screen had lost most of its color. I bandaged, jammed an epi-pen, drank two liters of water, and ate two cans of sardines. A guy in a ghillie suit sauntered by Looking for my partner that had also been hit. I stood and let the guy have both barrels of my shotgun at about thirty yards. The dude dropped and I finished him with my Axe.  I'll chalk it up to blind luck.

If you don't wake in 5 minutes theres a big chance that you wont wake up at all, even if someone medics you. Theres some thing with it that makes it imnpossible to get to base level healthy or somehting, I can't remember but there is a video on it here:

 

It doesn't seem to be very consistent though as I've had one encounter where I was knocked unconcious, went to the store for 30 minutes and when I turned on my screen my character was awake, my legs were broken though and I was in a bad shape but I did wake up that time. All the other umpteen times it happened I never woke up after a few minutes had gone by. I even had a friend try to wake me once with defib and epi-pen and it didnt work. He was a noob though so he probably did it to himself and not my body :/

Thanks for the comment but are you aware of the balance between blood loss and shock damage?  When shock damage exceeds your remaining blood volume you go unconscious. When you get shot you suffer Blood loss, Health Loss, and Shock damage. since blood loss is continuous until you bandage. There is a chance that your blood volume will  drop below 500 (1/10) and you will go unconscious or your shock damage will exceed your blood volume and you will go unconscious. in either case you are dead if you go unconscious while bleeding. All the Epinephrine pen does is reset you shock damage to zero hence you have removed one cause of going unconscious and kicking the bucket because of Blood loss.

Thanks for that explanation, as I was not aware of how exactly the pen worked. All I knew was that it can help to wake people up.

But I still think it was a bit wasted in your case, since you were awake and bandaged already.

So your blood level was higher than the shock damage and not likely to get lower if you wouldn't get shot again (another hit would have most likely killed instantly in that situation anyways).

But better safe than sorry and do all you can to recover quickly, so I kinda understand now. :)

Took my kid along for a suicide mission to test barrels in .58 and they dropped from starvation and cold. I tried force feeding and drinking for an hour and a half with fires near them seeing if we could save them. I even cooked cow steaks and out them in their pockets but eventually she succumbed.

You could be right there but normally when I am bleeding a lot  it's the pen first and then the bandage immediately after. Cheers!
