VaTiS 26 Posted June 30, 2015 It's difficult mostly for newcomers to understand where they are even if they find a sign . So it would be better if the signs had the name of the city in both languages :) ! It's more realistic this way
kichilron 8550 Posted June 30, 2015 It's more realistic this way I highly doubt that it's realistic to have English signs right in the middle of nowhere in Russia. It's supposed to be like that and it'll stay like that, I'm afraid.

It's supposed to be like that and it'll stay like that, I'm afraid. This game isn't set in Russia. Chernarus was the center of US/NATO/UN intervention. It is common practice to place translated signs in English for personnel using local roads. Seeing how foreign involvement extended to sandbag forts, light armored vehicles and HESCO walled bases, signs at least at major roads and intersections wouldn't be too far fetched. English is the language of trade, Even Air Traffic Control towers and civilian pilots need to be able to speak it. Here have some signs in Russia that have an English translation:

Here have some signs in Russia that have an English translation: I know it's not set in Russia, for the sake of being able to understand I just labeled it as such. Is Chernarus actually center of an intervention - and if so, was there enough time to label the signs as such? Yeah, some will. But Chernarus isn't exactly Moscow... boneboys 7988 Posted July 1, 2015 Would remove a lot of the uncertainty and sense of not knowing that most players feel when playing DayZ.The subject has been flogged to death in the past, you will soon learn the basics if you try. Meet you in Old Chapel ;)
koffeekage 322 Posted July 1, 2015 It would be easier on the devs and just as useful to have a map in translated languages "Ministry of tourism Chernarus" making them rare etc.

DemonGroover 8836 Posted July 9, 2015 You are from Greece right? I had to learn the Greek alphabet when i went backpacking years ago because you had the nerve to only have bus destinations in Greek! How was i supposed to know where Πάτρα went? Couldn't believe it!
