Favorite weapon?

I was wondering everyones favorite weapon in Standalone and why. Personally I like the Mosin as my favorite. Reason being I always liked being a sniper. Cod, Battlefield, even though those games don't portend to DayZ, I always feel like an assassin when I snipe bandits and they don't know from where. Just my personal preference. How about you guys?

For now the AKM, mainly because it makes me feel safe, so i don't freak out as much when the shooting starts. and also the iron sights are pretty good.

otherwise, if i don't feel like running around for military loot, I'll more often than not go for the sawn off shotgun.
it fits nicely in my improvised pack, and shells a plenty.

Sawn-off for me. Fairly easy to find, ammo is plentiful, it fits into most backpacks and it is just a monster at close range.

Repeater. Easy to find, loads of ammo about, accurate, geared players leave you alone and other survivors don't see you ad a threat so give you ammo. I've taken a few well geared players with my trusty repeater. And it holds plenty of rounds and you don't need clips or mags!

Only thing I'm not so kneen on with sks is to be sure of getting ammo you have to go to military places. Other than that it rocks. The repeater is the closest, in my mind to the sks if you don't live for jacking barracks for ammo.

HarryPotter, that is my second weapon. I have taken down a lot of geared players, and it is true, they do leave you alone and the bambis tend to help you.

SKS. I'll swap it out for an AK but it's probably the most reliable weapon in the game for me. Repeater is better in theory but I haven't used it nearly .as much

I really like a cr75 with silencer. Its less unwieldy than a rifle, quiet. powerful and always comes out when you press the damn button. Too bad its so hard to find a gun and a clip in the same run. Pistols should really come with a clip preinstalled.

I think the gun+clip thing is a bit unrealistic.. If you owned an sks or mosin etc surly you would also own a clip and ammo? But I get why it's like that in the game, to make it harder and I like that.... But every now and again you should find the whole lot together loaded in a gun with a scope etc

Sure, it's a bitch to find, and even more difficult to properly equip. But once it has pristine MP parts and ACOG for medium range, and CQB stock/red dot/BUIS for urban stuff, it's the best all-rounder in the game for me. I think I'm right in saying it's still the only gun in the game with selectable semi/auto fire modes too.

 

Have to admit I have a soft spot for the SKS though.

Before my favorite gun was the SKS. It was easy to find and ammo spawned everywhere and the internal mag is great, too.

Now the ammo is too hard to get, as I don't visit military places often.

So now I use what I can find. This is usually a shotgun or a repeater. Prefer the shotgun, though.

Later I might switch to sawn off shotgun + mosin with LRS, if I live long enough.

My last M4 I got from a guy I killed with an ice axe. But lost all the attachements due to the last patch and then got killed by a mosin.

M4 is great of course and I used it regularly when it grew on trees.
