I don't get it myself, why this was changed to test these simple items. Fighting to the island to find a handful of decent items sucks. Then getting sniped in the water.

 

its bad enough with the items like your mosin disappearing in the ground :(

No just horrible the spawn rates. Not saying guns in general just saying gear.

 

Translation:

yes it is a waist of time to travel if nothing is found at the north locations. Know what I mean? you have to make it interesting enough to travel north for most.

Otherwise everyone stays in the south. I hope this is only to test the current item lists. It has no bearing on us at this time.

 

The island is overwhelmed with items guns etc... which really isn't a good thing if you don't have the north populated.

 

But it really does suck atm.

I don't have any issue at all finding armament. The key is that I don't expect to have a gun and ammo in my hands and be clad in military camouflage with a ballistic helmet at all times. Plus, if you know where to look...stuff really isn't that hard to find.

Its got to be my server then, I just found a couple pieces at the large tent city to the west. Very odd the spawns in the tents. Up at NWAF found little to nothing. I know where to look as well. Ive put tons of hrs into the searching and testing - bug reporting of items. Just this time it feels very empty.

In one day me and my friends went from freshie to fully geared.

I had full gorka until I made my ghillies suit so there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with gorka spawns.

All on public not private too.

Blah, spent a good 4 hrs trying to find gorka, and some items on the island. It was a total disaster finding anything. I did manage to find 1 piece of gorka, damaged high cap vest, and a 15/15 clip for an MP5 but over all it was 0 loot. I turned persistence off on my server for the 2nd time in one day. New fragnet server so its being adjusted but for some reason nothing was spawning worth while. Only a couple of us actually where on the server looking for heli's even. All I found was 1 rust bucket with a pristine pso scope. Not complaining that scope rules. 1 akm with 2 mags in the island closet. 1 ak on the lighthouse walk about. Otherwise it was completely empty but for food. 1 mosin I found later on, decked it out but damaged scope.

 

All I have been seeing is damaged items, and low spawn rate of items. It maybe a bugged persistence thing that happened I don't know. Just seemed weird is all.

OH Crap! already, I was hopping I would have a few more patchs....dam it all anyways.....welll guess its time to craft a leather vest that only has 10 slots vs the high caps 12.....lol I needed the extra can storage......

 

Its not that bad. I only played 3 sessions so far in the new patch, dam near have the gear I had when I left off in .52. Its not that bad....hey there's apples, and cans of bacon in every house lol

I don't have any problem at all finding anything really. Just avoid persistence enabled servers as they tend to bug and not spawn anything unless players remove all items from areas to start the respawn mechanic, which won't be like that in the future. You can still try your bet at finding the "christmas loot"/"loot puke" still happening here and there, or just go to persistence disabled servers.

 

For weapons, if you like submachine guns or automatic weapons, I would suggest the prison, as there's way too much stuff there currently.

Various current characters on private hives, all persistence disabled, with high pops. (UN/Zap, ANARCHY, Musty gaming, Rest in Peace (formely FOG), etc.)

 

 

When you get to know where certain item spawns, it's much more easier to find the precious items you need to survive in the apocalypse. For example, I love wearing a beige baseball cap, and I've found that they often spawn in the clerks office of petrol stations.

 

Of course, DayZ has a way of knowing what you're really looking for and sometimes does wonders hiding those items from your reach. :rolleyes:

It depends upon what your viewpoint of "GOOD" gear is. For me its anything stronger than fist for melee and stronger than .22. But as far as clothing goes everything is pretty much even on playing field until things like gasmask and such take effect and sunglasses and stuff actually take the glare away from the sun at certain points in the day, etc.

 

There is plenty of good gear. I personally loved the prison uniform. There great editions to this game if you ask me.

I like it more the way it is now, I have to admit when not every Bozo holds a mosin and ammo after 5 minutes.

 

Now we get to a feeling befitting to the general atmosphere of the game setting.

 

Only thing I miss now is the z hordes...:)

a stop at electro got me a full gorka outfit vest and a couple more stuff. What's wrong with more raincoats I use them arm bands are great I can be even more greener.

I mostly use the hatchet since it came out, but before that, I only carried a combat or kitchen knife. Combat knife with military boots is a very nice combo for those who like the challenge!

 

But seriously the hatchet is OP. If you learn to get it right, it's a 1 hit kill on zombies always. (Just hit the head once.) It doesn't make an animation taking it out like the fire or splitting axe, or other 2 hand melee weapons. It switches must faster that way, and the swing animation it has is very easy to get it right on the head of foes.

been playing VG servers and the hatchet is really good I killed two guys one w a gun one with a fire Axe both missed all shots. I can use the hactet to get up close and hit them in the body while there trying to swing at me but I'm faster and more accurate. Overall how'd you get the fnx thought it wasn't spawning anymore.

Brooms,  knuckle dusters and raincoats and it seems everybody are still  recycling their bottles cos i cant find one for the life on me !
