Drop in FPS around buildings for me even in small villages, its really bad in the v3s and has led to me losing my no claims bonus

Pixel apparently they're invisible on persistent servers so I'd recommend non-persistent ones. I've found a couple this patch, but mi8 crashes spawn crap and most smokers are looted.

Does anyone have info on helicrashes? Do the spawn? Are they visible? 

 

I spent the last 4 hours using the entire running-cycle of a server to look for some crashsites...and zip. Nothing at all. I've used a V3S and have pretty much checked all the usual crash spawns.

 

Are they invisible? Do they not spawn all the time? I've found a single (loot free) MI-8 crash on another server that I searched up and down on. Not a single NATO crash.

 

 

Found a Russian Crash site up near the Vybor Military base on my server. Persistence is off.  It was disappointing in regards to the loot I found. Don't think it was looted either but I could be wrong.

Having good fun so far. I've got more seeds than I can count, so I'll try my hand at setting up a big southern roadside farm, plant everything and hope it grows. Then bambis passing by can have some veggies while they look for other food.

 

So, I just wasted a bunch of seeds, because the soil is too dry and nothing will grow. Do I still need to fertilize? Will soil moisture levels rise when/after it rains? Are any soil types better than others for guerilla growing?

sacks are kinda common if you know where to look for them.

i grinded a LOT in berezino.

 

just check every shed and garage behind houses.

On another note, how many burlap sacks and netting do you need for a full ghillie? And is it like a complete ghillie with a hood and everything?

On another note, how many burlap sacks and netting do you need for a full ghillie? And is it like a complete ghillie with a hood and everything?

 

10 sacks + 4 nettings = full ghillie suit (without hood)

2 sacks + 1 nettings (afaik) = hood and gunwrap

so you need 14 sack stripes and 6 nettings for the complete wookie look.

 

its also possible to make a ghillie top (6+3) or bushrag (4+2).

 

full suit > top > bushrag

only the full suit covers everything from your shoes to your chin on both sides of your body. top and rag just cover your back partially.

 

but i have huge problems with getting hot now :/

I have looked in many major cities, as well as smaller towns and settlements, I didn't find 1 piece of loot, not even rotton fruit.

 

What the hell is this? I paid £19.99 for this and the "development" team are focused on adding all these new, innovative features. No, just FIX THE GAME! It's shocking! 

 

This better get fixed.

 

To development team - Get your heads out your arses and actually fix the game. Maybe optimize it so we get more than 30FPS without massive stutters, fix the constant issues with zombies maybe, JUST GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER.

Odd, I have never had any trouble finding loot in this game, well only in the areas next to spawn points. You go inland, you'll find loot. Also this  helped with my FPS problems

This isn't a game. This is alpha, the rudimentary framework of the game. This is the adding stage of the process. Fixing comes later.

 

As it happens in every game development cycle. You add, then you fix. Why would you fix before adding?

 

Also, "This better get fixed." I just hate it when people say this. This better get fixed, or else what?

As far as heli crashes I have found none zero zilch nada zisseroni ? Zamboni? on two persistent servers I have played on and thats running the main route from zelenogorsk to nwaf logging out and going backwards same route another server.... 

 

Loot is sparse found very little in way of guns in barracks well ...Not like I used to find...It used to be a debate whether I had the ammo for this one or was this one better than that and how many clips do I have..What are the chances of finding the clips if I drop this and go ahead with it..lol.....Im sure we all have been there before but Anyway.... 

 

Also noticed that after refueling a truck and going to enter to drive I now drop the gas can and cant carry it with me anymore.....  (((( WORD to the Devs.... Either allow this to be carried in our hands while driving... Add an inventory slot for the can on the truck... Or make the can smaller to fit in our bags or perhaps make smaller cans we can carry..))))  Just a thought...and I know these vehicles are simply placeholders for the final product... just voicing my opinion

 

Did find netting in boats.. Also found a few burlap sacks... Not as many as i needed but thats how it goes...

 

I was also lucky enough to be on a persistent server an hour before restart up and through the restart and did notice something I thought had been proven wrong.. Loot does spawn on restarts...I was at NWAF during this and just had checked the firestation and the barracks as well as the control tower and a couple of hangars... Came back after restart and some of the loot that had been there before was gone and some new loot was in its place...But I have yet to check a house and come back an hour or two later to find new loot its always unchanged... or the loot had been taken or it just disappeared who knows....

 

All in all I am pretty happy with this patch aside from the occasional logout and ctd that happens and the occasional glitches that come up I cant really complain... Its been a great year with this game and I have had no regrets in my purchase... I know some people have had major issues and this sucks god knows Ive had my own.. But when it comes down to it if next year is anything like this year then I cannot wait.

 

As a testament to how awesome this game is as far as immersion goes...I was playing last night...

 

Pretty decently geared up yet again from hours of running.I had a ghillie hood on all green and my ghillie cover on the gun with my long range scope on my back.. Two pistols fully loaded and a Mosin loaded with a compensator on it in my hands.. I made my way to the military barracks in the dark cutting through the woods and down long runs of trees and tall grass stopping ever so often to check my 6 and to look ahead for other survivors I make it to the base and check the barracks and go around to check what I am assuming everyone is calling the prison? one jail cell an upstairs with 3 bunks and a downstairs office? Anyway movement out of the corner of my eye as I creep forward I notice a player carrying a gun in hand so I sit back and watch.. He checks the tank and then makes his way for the barracks... I think of all those times ive been killed on site and revenge filters through and takes control of my keyboard and mouse as I make my way around the other side of the wall to get a good position on the intruder.... I notice the barracks he is in .... I find my spot and make my final checks... I'm loaded my breathing has slowed down from the run I lie down and take aim on the door... He was smart he closed it behind him.... good this means he will have to slow down to open it as he comes out.... I wait ..    ...   ....  .....  ...... and wait.... I jump from first to third person to check behind me and to look and make sure i'm not being flanked by an unknown person...  Its just he and I..... I wait ...... My heart is literally beating so hard now I can hear it even with my headphones on I am excited... I am in the moment...Again I wait... and wait then I think I am gonna just sneak up and have a look.... I roll out and away from position and make my way in towards my target not taking aim off the door... Its been at least what 5 minutes... Ok what the hell there wasnt anything good in there when I checked..... I check each room and well... He has logged out... Damn!!!!

 

Guess thats what I get... I am normally never the one to shoot someone without talking to them first but we have all been there before.. Guess this is what I get ... lol none the less it was so much fun... Better than being shot at and not knowing where it came from or my screen suddenly going black and you are dead slowly fading in.. And me sitting here going WTF!!!!!! lol

+1, it seems there are some servers with 0 loot spawn, i don't know if its a 'buged restart' or something. All towns are empty but zombies and other works fine. I don't remember it happened on 0.51

Every time I place a military tent, the server I place it on crashes.

 

I have been testing military tent persistence on different HC stable servers lately in hopes of finding a safe place to store some gear. In the past five days I have set up five military tents on different official servers. The first four servers crashed within 24 hours of my tent being placed. The fifth went off line this morning only minutes after placing my tent, then returned under a differ name and configuration about an hour ago (changed to 1st/3rd person from HC)

 

These where all official HC servers that had been on my favorites list for several months. They where always online, always had a great ping and never changed. Yet the second I set up a mil tent on them they evaporate like a fart in the wind after months of running fine.

 

Not sure whats going on here.

I had a similar issue last night on several different servers even lost characters on a server I know I had a decent one on, not even a chem lite or damaged shoes could be found but I could search and find red berries. Logged in today and was good, even got my old character back. I think it was some kind of hive issue or maybe even another DDOS attack.

Why did nobody say that eating a 'Pile of Guts' gives you heavy food poisoning? I almost died there. :) First time I was sick in dayz, in fact.

 

I confirm there are servers with absolutely no loot, i.e. all buildings literally empty, but most servers I tried worked fine.

 

Plants now yield, apart from crops, something called 'plant material', which is said to be used as fertilizer. However, I couldn't use it in any way. Do we know if it's implemented or not?

 

And for the love of god, please somebody tell me how to use rabbit snares effectively. I've tried numerous locations on numerous servers both in 0.51 and 0.52 and still not a single bunny. Any help?

I have no big problems finding food and water usually but when you loot an area, then get killed and have to go through that area again it really sucks to die of starvation in twenty minutes just as you manage to get past the looted area. This should get teaked as nobody dies of starvation in that manner. I even ate a bunch of worms to stop it but that didn't help much. Found a bunch of corpses that i coul've eaten but someone had stolen all the knives.

Back during stable patch .49, I made a comment about how hard it was to survive and how frustrated I was.  I'd like to go ahead and take that back.  I've come to realize, it really was my survival skills at the time and I took the advice of another member on here and now I have become a much better player then I was back then.  So I'm officially eating crows feet.  Happy hunting everyone.

Yes you paid for access to the development version of what will became finished game in the future - you know such version is actively developed thus not finished.

For example loot (re)spawning is currently undergoing massive rewrite - and such thing cannot be done overnight so of course you can experience some problems with it but it's natural.

When zombies hit you and you get a CTD, is still a thing?

 

Also how do you loot bodies that have slid down the hillside? I died because of client crash and when  I got back to my body I was unable to loot it, because of sliding. Has happened before, when I killed a dude and tried to get his stuff.

You can't. If you don't die on flat ground there is nothing you can do.
