Whyherro123 2283 Posted November 2, 2014 Than why is obesity only a problem in developed countries if it's a problem of the poor ? Poor people tend to be rather slim. And how is that xenophobic ? USA has highest obesity figures. Unless stating facts is xenophoby tha so be it. And you don't need gym membership, running is free. They say that : The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. Well the greatest trick mankind ever pulled was convincing the world that you need to pay for running. And don't start with lack of time / 2 hours workout. Unless you're a serious athlete you don't need that much time to work out. 30 minutes to an hour is perfect. May not be healthy, and it's not what I said, I said it's calorie rich. which is what you need when spend most of the day on the move. Add protein form meat, and things are looking pretty well. Also no beans are not full of sugar, in fact they are pretty good source of good carbshttp://www.heinz.co.uk/Products/Beans/Ranges/Beanz/Heinz-Baked-BeanzSee here 13 g of carbs 5 sugars 7 of other. Not bad. Good for you that you eat well. But you live in a country that has obesity figures going through the roof, it's not a stereotype.Googled obdsity figures in usThis came up Adults Age 20 and Older 2More than two-thirds (68.8 percent) of adults are considered to be overweight or obese.More than one-third (35.7 percent) of adults are considered to be obese.More than 1 in 20 (6.3 percent) have extreme obesity.Almost 3 in 4 men (74 percent) are considered to be overweight or obese. Not a stereotype. A mathematical fact. Feel free to resent, hate and disagree, number don't lie. You actually pretty much never addressed the main issues I presented. Poor people are slim? Really? Maybe from where you are, but around here, obesity is a problem with the urban poor and the "food insecure" (Those that lack access to quality nutrition), pretty much for the reasons I listed above. http://frac.org/initiatives/hunger-and-obesity/are-low-income-people-at-greater-risk-for-overweight-or-obesity/ Urban poor in my city are usually working two (or more) jobs in order to make ends meet. That leaves little time for both cooking and exercise. They might not have 30 minutes. Plus, exercise equipment (running shoes. Hell, just shoes in general.) costs money. I can't go drop $60 on a pair of trainers, and I have more disposable income than many of my fellow city dwellers. My athletic shoes are over 6 years old, and I am not going to be getting new ones anytime soon. http://frac.org/initiatives/hunger-and-obesity/why-are-low-income-and-food-insecure-people-vulnerable-to-obesity/ Facts. Link to them. Finally, do me a favor. Eat nothing but canned food for a month. Tell me how you feel. Calories aren't everything.
General Zod 1118 Posted November 2, 2014 (edited) Poor people are slim? Really? Maybe from where you are, but around hereWell we are not playing in the US are we. Two you can eat can food all day long, but in a world of DayZ you won't get fat, simple because you spend 90% of your time on the move carrying quite a lot of things with you. Meaning you burn all the calories you eat. And yes in most of Europe poor people are slim, hell in Europe most people are slim regardless of their social status yes countries like UK do have high obesity rates. But go any eastern European country, that is less wealthy. According to what you posted they should all be land whales because of being "poor", while in fact obesity figures in eastern Europe are very low. Which means it's the food that is being sold in US that makes poor people fat. Ergo you produce your own fatties. Finally, do me a favor. Eat nothing but canned food for a month. General Zod 1118 Posted November 3, 2014 You're just full of assertions, aren't you! ;)Am I ?Showed the obesity statistics for US, most of US population is overweight / obese.Lived in eastern Europe for 16 years, so I got a pretty good look at people living there. I know you love to call out others on lack of proof, but not this time.

Done away are rigorous tests and observations. Now, scientists need only rely on "a fairly good feel" for evidence when conducting research. New Scientists put out a statement "Well this will save us a bloody lot of time" Sorry, your biased viewpoint does not qualify, even in the slightest, as "proof". Go away and conduct a year long study and then maybe you'll find some real data to work with. Edited November 3, 2014 by Jexter

I need a long study to prove that people I pass on the streets are not fat. Should I also provide long study to prove that the grass is green and car wheels are round in shape or the fact that you can see that is enough ? bonesnap 75 Posted November 3, 2014 (edited) This thread is 10 pages longer than it needs to be. Having to eat and drink often is not meant to be realistic, it's meant to add some PvE survival elements so there is some depth to the game. Also, for what it's worth, I have not had any issues with eating/drinking survival since I started playing SA. The single time I had issues was before loot respawn was implemented, and I was in a group of 3 with beginners and was giving them my food to show them the ropes and get them started. If you are struggling, you might need to work on that. Edited November 3, 2014 by bonesnap
