The pros:

Zombies don't go through doors.

*snip*

I noticed this as well.

It seems they may have improved this area of the AI.

Zed followed me through a closed door into a police station. I know for sure that I closed both the front and rear entrance, and he got me on the first floor. Scared the living hell out of me too since I never saw or heard him coming.

Food seems to be scarce at the beach (as always, that's just the way it is and normally I'm okay with that), but in the 15 minutes I played I had no sore feet, no crashes and no "big" glitches or anything.

I had no luck with Zeds not seeing me, even crouching and walking slow they see / hear me right away. Is there some more info somewhere on how zombies "work" (see / hear) that is not completely outdated? I'd love to ... well, pick their brains :D Sorry, couldn't help it ^^

Let's see how tomorrow goes. Did they say anything about loot respawning? Did they work on stuff?

So i had an awesome 2 hour or so run with a real life friend today , long story short We Are Farmers . Long Story Long me an dhim had started far apart and we decided to trek towards eachother , he was starving and i was getting there ... we finally meet in svetlo and he almost succumbs to some dirty Zombies but we manage to escape ... After scrounging the necessary supplies to actually start farming we looked for a lil more food ...We then Gleefully planted our love children seeds into the backyard of our new colonial home near the police station of Svetlojarsk ,this was our yeild :

My Friend Loving His Life After Harvest Season =)

So basically growing is incredibly easy , which i would like it if we actually had to water them , prevent them from being OVER watered (by the rain, if rained on too much many of the tomatoes would grow moldy ) .. I also hope although this might be a stretch, that each individual fruit and vegetable will have a specific way it needs tobe grown . for instance a tomato wouldnt want too much rain but say if we could grow pumpkins , then we would water them more , that sort of thing .. Also i believe we should be able to choose the amount of fertilizer used on each plot hole , maybe to accelerate the time ALOT by putting 15% of the fertilizer in the hole instead of just five but this would make less tomato available because the crop grew so fast  .. but of course growing crops in twenty mins is ridiculous but i understand that its just to gather data, i believe an hour and a half to three hours REAL TIME is perfect time for crops to grow , maybe even up to a day but that may be too much .. Overall i love the work the devs have put in in the last few months Kudos to them now i can finally have a farm like ive always wanted in DayZ =} !

What's with the constant server restarts? First and third person servers are restarting in as little as 20 minutes . I assume it's not a player exploit, since persistent servers means that there will be no new loot near players. Well, other than duped gear.

Or it is indeed a player exloit and they are just doing it to be dicks... .

Logic of devs : So what can we do to make it for them harder to eat and drink?  Despawn a lot of the thousands of cans and fruits spawning? Noooooooo let them there who cares. We will go with the unrealistic way! We will make them hungry  every 5 minutes! When in real world you get hungry every 4 hours.

That's becoming less and less of a problem, particularly with this third build of 0.50. Yesterday afternoon there were more than enough available servers for anyone who wanted to play, and although loot wasn't overflowing, I certainly didn't have any trouble finding what I needed -- even in highly-trafficked areas like Chernaya Polana.

Chernaya Polana is a "tier two" area, so to speak.

True high traffic/population areas are on the coast, and inland towns near the more used spawn areas: Khelm, Orlovets, Polana, Msta, Tulga ans so on. In those zones there are just books, pliers, cyalumes, the occasional road flare and tons of empty medikits. Northern spawns like Svetlo, Rify and Novo seems to be less used by the game. In northern towns/ares, both on the coast and inland, I've always found a decent amount of loot - with a neat balance between junk and useful items.

But south-eastern and southern spawn areas, on the coast and near it? Scorched earth. In one gaming session I spawned at Cherno and had to arrive to Kozlovka in order to find something useful. I doubt that's related to a flawed design of the loot respawn system, though: in EXP first person servers, usually less populated, you can find balanced loot in many areas that in third person servers are overflowing with junk or are simply devoid of everything. Probably too many players on too few servers are putting loot respawn under stress.

I've seen one zombie walk through a door, all the rest I've encountered have been blocked by them. So I must admit I haven't noticed any difference in that area since introduction of the nav mesh.

Afaik if you eat till your character is healthy, energized and full. And if you don't sprint, you won't get hungry every five minutes.

It's just that in real world you don't have infinite stamina and they have to probably balance it out somehow at this point.

Your sig is a crime against humanity.

Could be an issue related to buildings? I was able to trap zombies only in certain buildings (for example, small pubs), while trying to trap them in others (houses, garages and such) was useless...they run through doors.

I do!  :P I have a crazy metabolism.

How is Chernaya Polana "tier two"? It's a highly-used spawn point. I spawn there all the time, and I run into fresh spawns there frequently.

Only just managed to get onto Experi, did some show wear testing and a pristine pair of work boots, degraded to ruined after running in the region of 1km.

Only rarely spawned there, and when I'm able to reach that area I find very few players. On UK and DE third person and firts person servers I always find more players (both geared and freshspawns) in the south and southeatern part of the map.

"Tier two" is just a personal definition of an area that's crowded, but not as crowded as some other ones.

I'm all for the idea of shoes getting damaged, would make the countless spawns of shoes that more relevant, but 1km is way too quick. Not going to complain too much about it, as I'm sure the durability and longevity between different types of shoes will be added in in due course, but bearing in mind my Dad does a 10km run 3 to 4 times a week and doesn't carry around 10 pairs of trainers to change to.

That status has been in the game for a long time. Did you eat something rotten or things you're not meant to eat? Then go to a pond and drink until you puke, after that your sick status should be gone.

Looks like Chernarussian footwear reflects perfectly the quality of footwear in USSR.
In game pristine shoes only last for a couple of km before getting RUINED and hurting your feet.
I hope it'll be fixed ASAP. We democratic people don't need that much immersion in Soviet reality. :P

yes, of course i know the sick status after drinking disinfectant, rotten fruits or uncooked meat.

in this special case, my girlfriend didn't eat/drink any of that (by the way, i didn't seen a rotten fruit since 0.49). that's why i was speculating about disease from cold or zombies hits.

this is not mentionned in the new status report, so i guess it's a random bug.

Has everyone been getting character wipes with every small experimental update recently?

It doesn't really bother me, just curious. I think every patch for the last month or two has wiped my character, even the small incremental ones. Is this the case for everyone?

Cheers for any info.

Yes, and as far as I can tell that's pretty much always been the case. It has been since I started playing Experimental quite a few months ago.

The idea being that you can more fully experience and test the changes if you're starting from scratch.
