How was your Day(Z)?

Starting off this night of adventure is Eno, Dave, and I, together again after a week+ hiatus of having conflicting schedules.  

 

We met up at "Chez Eno" (aka Berezino coast).  Our plan was to roam the coast south of Berezino to offer food and water to freshies.  We joined a populated public server and took our time as we made our way south into the factory (north of Solnichniy) before Dave had to call it a night.  We had no contact up to this point as the server reached capacity.  Eno and I then decided to keep heading south to offer support just as Eno tells me to break comms because he spots a fresh spawn.  He stopped and gave his friendly introduction before being punched square in the face by said freshy (lol).  It must have been his shoulder or chest that was hit, because he was not knocked out.  Eno sidestepped as he skinned his weapon.  I was up the road a tad so I let off one shot in that direction to create a distraction.  The freshy took off south towards Solnichniy and headed off into the woods in the opposite direction.  

 

We decided to let him be as we turn to head north.  This is where the video picks up (please excuse the awful aim by both of us, haha)..

 

 

After this video ends, we pick up the pieces in a nearby home.  I then start heading north in the open field like an idiot and wander back and forth while Eno takes care of some zombies.  I then have the brilliant idea to stop and take a drink in the middle of said field and proceed to take a well deserved shot in the back.  My backpack, shirt, and all the contents inside those items were instantly ruined.  I scream like a wee girl and run for the inner city as I zig-zag like a maniac.  More shots ring out that sound like an AK.  We were not sure if it was one or two bandits so we stop to assess the situation.  I dump all of the ruined crap out of my bag and continue to check my surroundings as Eno spots someone in the treeline heading down towards us.  Just as Eno gets a bead on the guy and I start to flank to the left, the server restarts.  We immediately hop back in with the hopes to continue where we left off but they seem to have not rejoined the party.  We swallow our pride, water up at the nearest water pump, and call it a night.

what ,,, i missed the excitement execution style!  ...only if my stupid character is not stuck inside of a rock or else i will join you guys. I was already running towards that area lol

Decided to visit the prison island for some mags yesterday. My friend was already there, so I had to swim over. He was a bit impatient so he logged in a few minutes before i reached the island.

Just when i was entering the prison complex, he literally bumped into a guy in barracks. Altho my friend had no harm intentions, the guy started drawing out his SKS. My friend closed the bathroom door and locked himself in :D When i got there a minute later, the guy was standing infront of the barracks aiming his SKS at the door.

I take my aim and ask him "why would you do that? He said he's friendly" before blowing his head off.

 

We continue our journey to the prison tower. As we climb i could swear i heard another pair of footsteps. Theres another guy in the tower; one level below us.

I take out my newly pimped mp5 and proceed clearing the staircase. Nothing. I return to the second floor. I try to pass the metal doors in the tower when i get stuck in mid air.

WTH. I couldnt move, nor control my caracter. Couldnt pull out a weapon nor use my neck. I hear footsteps. Fuck, its him. He came from the upper balcony with a mosin.

 

Well shit, again the ingame sound trolled me. I call my budy back altho i knew he cant help me as i was stuck, blocking the LOS. Second shot from the mosin drops me.

My friend comes in and shoots the guy. Dude ruined everything i had in two shells. Oh well.

 

I get a Cherno spawn, so i decide to run back to the freebie island. As I get to ballota AF, i pick up a gorka, balistic helmet & a backpack. I continue my way towards komarovo by the beachsite.

As im leaving Balota near the docks, I get a hude desync and end up some 50m away up in the air, falling into the ocean, hitting the bottom, breaking my legs.

 

Good thing i dont have a single sharp object. This shouldnt be a problem right? right ????????

 

I crawled for what is now known to be my personal record. I tried collecting kindlings from the bush, or rocks from the beach but hey, my leg is broken, the game obviously wont give it to me that easily.

I crawled by the tracks near the swampy area for 700m, untill i finaly reached Komarovo.

I hit the first shed: A bloody shovel.

Second shed: URgh, broom

Pub. No morphine.

Another shed: lead pipe

yet another shed: broom

kiosk: spray paint

yet another kiosk: nothing

yet another one: nothing

yet another shed: crowbar.

 

Now, crawling for way over 1000m, I searched every shed in komarovo not finding a single blade. In this time i noticed how friggin hard it is to crawl into buildings.

I hope this gets adressed at some point. I got desperate, so i called a buddy to swim back from the island else im gonna derringer my fate.

 

As he's swimming back I crawl into a police station. One of rare buildings you can actualy crawl up the stairs, if i may add.

 

I try to get to the roof. What a mistake. I glitched myseld into the spiral staircase pretty much like one can do it in prison building.

Problem is i have broken legs. Cant walk, cant stand up, cant get out. My friend arrived but i was long sunk into the stations texture.

I tried to bug myself out, ot at least bump out my rear so he could give me the "treatment". No success.

Luckily he brought a zombie who aggroed on my hitbox in the middle of the street, successfully killing me.

 

Got Kozlova spawn, ran back to reunite. Almost got rekt by a guy shoting at me asking if im friendly, but this time i did it.

I have some time to play again recently :) Traveled the coast from east to the South.. Ran into a guy, he ignored me.... Ran into another guy, he claimed my mic wasnt working, had a little chat conversation... He said my mic plug might not be connected properly... I typed: "ok let me crawl under my desk for a sec" ... I see if he takes the bait, he does and charges at me with his fists raised... I raise my CR75 and fire 3 shots, he drops like a potato... Mistake buddy :) 

I proceed into Electro, down the coast. Notice some Zombie aggro on opposite docks... There's a newspawn standing there, not moving. I take out 2 zombies and I meet him.. He thanks me and was superglad what was going on when the shots were at the zombies instead of him. I give him some food and my favorite (red) sweater. We decide to travel to Balota to meet up with his friends. I hear him chat on TS in game, but he and his friends are swedish. I can make out the words: "Mosin" and "Long Range Scope" , which is part of my setup... I ask him if he's on Skype with his friends and if he can warn them that I've joined him, so they don't shoot me. He says he hasn't spoken with him yet, clearly he's lying and things feel fishy. I hold him up, demand my sweater back and leave. Heading towards Balota myself, I spot him again in Cherno appartments. He's pretty well kitted by now, but I'm sure it's him (he still wears the red armband I gave him as well) and his friend is there as well... They both have guns out whilst looting... I decide to watch them for a while, before carrying on. Arriving in Balota (city) I hear some mosin/AK fire towards the airfield / appartments. I decide to leave after a bit traveling further down the coast and eventually inland....
 

Short & quick written summary... But 450 hrs of gameplay and I realize I'm still enjoying this game so - friggin - much :D

I spawned in Elektro in a room where there was another guy already. Ofcourse he had to attack me so I ran. For some reason nothing worked, when I pulled my gun out it put it back, when I pulled my machete out my toon stopped  in the middle of the street, my shotgun wouldnt even load. When i finally managed to run for a bit to get my sks out and stay out, all my five shots missed :/  So i bled to death. Not a good start and It didnt get better. I tried swimming to prison island but the server restarted when i was haflway. I got the drop on two snipers in Elektro but the server restarted before I could shoot them. I was attacked by another guy in Cherno and he didnt listen to reason so I climbed a ladder to avoid him. And that was that.

I'm trying so hard not to be a KOS asshole...

But....

Why do big groups of players always kill me?

I put away my gun/hammer or axe (or sometimes unarmed) make no attempt to run or fight and say "hey how are" then I die.

Happened twice today. The 1st group didn't even say anything! They just came over and opened fire point blank... The second group conversed for a while then said I was a bandit and killed me, even though I had my hands up?

I go out my way to try and interact with players but it always seems to end with me getting killed... I think KOS is the way to go until the hordes are introduced.

Well, when you meet a single player theres basically a 50/50 chance that he's an a-hole and kills you. If you meet two players one will be an a-hole and thus the chance for you getting killed increases. If you meet a group of three there sa very great chance that at least one of them will kill you for no reason. If they are four it is basically guaranteed.

 I'm just joking here byt come to think of it I have never met a group of four or more people and survived. I've met groups of three many times and not gotten killed though.

thue that, never run into a group of people alone, if there is 3 friendly guy, the fourth will just kill you, they will ask "WHY" and he will say "WHY NOT ?", then they will laught and run away, i've been there too :lol:

 

so today i tried a private shard, the septic falcon server. i started in svetlo, geared up pretty easily with basic things : backpack, mosin + PU + ammo and a lot of peaches (i love peaches :) ) then runned to Karmanovka to look at the V3S spawn location. with a immense amount of luck, i found a truck there and decided to raid the west. on my way, i decided to stop briefly at the truck reparing station of smirnovo. i was hopping to find a UK assault vest/bullet proof vest but sadly nothing interesting there.

 

i got back in my truck and drived a few meters when i hear "yeah !". as i was on a private shard, i told myself : "mehhh, why not try to be friendly today ?" so i stop my truck and as i was getting out, i took a shotgun shot form an unknown direction (i play on 1st person servers). i tried to run away, but i was shot a second time, breaking my legs. the guy runned into me, thinking i was dead. i shot his face off with my mosin. ho revenge, sweet reevenge :P . so i looted his body and crawled in direction of the neares bush to craft a splint. at that moment, i heard footsteps... i turn around, and see a geared guy running into me. sadly, i have ma axe in hands as i almost reached the bush. one shot and "you are dead". well, it was not the good day to be friendly i guess :D.

 

mistakes made :

 

- beeing friendly

- not having crafted splint for emergency situation

- looted the body too soon (for my defense, i hoped he had morhpine and his body as sleeping in direction of novo, so i was a that moment or never ^^)

 

then i respawned in berezino, headed west right away, found another truck and headed to the west, then the server restarted. i lost my truck but founda nice ak 101 and the associated mag in the military base near vybor, a high capacity vest and a m65 jacket in a heli crash in less than an hour. i like to think i was blessed for having tried to be friendly :) .

 

so be carefull, i might not be frindly tomorrow :P

Died again dammit! I was doing so well. This time I got quite pissed off about it. I went to prison island with my 1PP character(I call him groot). I had a trumpet but no ammo and a sawn off with no ammo but nothing else. As I approach the prison building I see an armed bandit rush by so i call to him. He comes up gun up yellling orders. I comply and tell him I have no ammo and am not a threat. I put my arms up and sit down. His friend approaches and wetalk very briefly and then they shoot me. Completely pointless.

 I respawn near Elektro and hear shooting in town so i take it slow. I find a gun quite fast And manage to find the house were the main shooter is. its not so hard because the street is littered with dead. I call out to him but get no answer. I look inot the house and notice that he's sitting on the second floor staircase of a red house. I decide to try to snipe him so i run off and find a suitable position and just as I get a good spot to get him with my longhorn he runs away. So I go to bed instead.

So now ive made it to the Nth East fence line if the NWAF, gunshots everywhere :o

 

I crept along it and saw two guys prone firing at one in the airfield itself, i got almost 20 mtrs away from them and could easily have taken them both out but i rolled off the my left and made my way further around the line heading nth :thumbsup: .

 

So far ive survived three days out on my own, going from the wrecked ship , through Krasno, Black mountain, devils mountain and onto the airfield. Now i have no want to go in there, the KOS rubbish that goes on is pretty ridiculous.

 

So its been ok, im kind of doing a survival test to see how long my own wits can get me around the map on my own. Ive been finding so many guns , most without any ammo >:( . I have my fire axe binoculars( they are great) and numerous other things.

 

So it's been pretty good, tense at times but in enjoying surviving. :D

I was playing an "RP No KoS" server. There were only two other players on it so I took advantage of the relative safety and was having my way with NWAF. A short distance outside the airfield I find the very first operational truck I've seen (haven't played much the past few months) so I was pretty excited about it. Certain that the thing will be out of gas, I enter the cab and by some divine miracle the fuel gauge reads full. Now I'm pumped.

 

I start driving up and down the airfield like a madman. I was almost hoping someone would see me and stare in awe at my big beautiful beast. After a few runs around the airfield I find no one, so I decide to start looting tent town. Server restarts. I step outside for a cig. Come back some time later and my truck is still there. I'm excited all over again. I will drive this truck far North and hide it in the woods somewhere before I log off for the night then make a trip around the map in it tomorrow and see what shenanigans I get into.

 

Just then I hear a distant automatic weapon. HUMAN! I haven't seen another player in ages. I will drive up on him, wind blowing in my hair, scoop him up and we will have great adventures together! I set off in search of him and eventually locate him gunning down zombies somewhere near the center of the airfield. I can only imagine how bewildered and impressed he is with me as he sees me drive up out of nowhere, stopping a short distance away from him. "FRIENDLY!" I yell. No response. He just stares, mouth agape, clearly in awe of this truck driving angel of dark skin and light heart that sits before him. "Do you need a ride?" I say. Again, no response. Now his legs have started working again and walks over to my truck and stands but a few yards away. "Hop in!" I say. He stares for a few moments.

 

Then it all goes so wrong. I see him raise his weapon and point it at me. This truck is too slow to move me out of the path of a bullet. I sit and wait for the inevitable, and sure enough "You are dead."

 

If you're reading this Tuckerwhatevertherestofyournamewas, I forgive you. Enjoy my truck and remember to change the oil every 3-5k miles.

Very true. But if I wanted to stay safe I would've went in the opposite direction as soon as I heard the shots. I like to take risks. More fun for me that way.

good tip if you both in truck and want to talk using the ingame voip: you can reduced the ingame volume and increase the voip volume

I had the worst luck yesterday. I spawned in teh forest outside Kayshovo as I didn't want to spawn in a house in case someones there. what happens? Two minutes after I spawn two guys run past below me. I'm not even in the game right yet as I lag and shit. They see me and shoot me dead. I trie to hide but they saw me. I couldn't go up and I couldn't go down.  Stood behind a tree but it seems trees can be shot through. Crap.

 I spawn at solnichy so i decide to run for my corpse. I get there and carefully scout out the place. I see one of the murderers creeping around. I can tell that they haven't been able to loot my corpse, probably from it sliding down the hill. Suddenly I am shot at. I get quite surprised as i'm 300 metres away but they kill me anyway.

 

 I respawn in polana. Get some gear. See some people and talk to one guy. Then run for Severograd where I find a truck. Go to the military base up north and find what seesm to be some dead guys stuff in the prison building. Then the server restarts so I log out.

I had a very mixed day, im still figuring the right way to do stuff. I died from the three day old with good ammo etc as i learned something about protective cases, ouch.

 

Three more times i went in as a fresh faced dude and three times i just had to let a zombie finish me off, just no food anywhere, nothing at all. I ran for miles and found nothing >:( in any direction ( ration pack for new spawns would be handy there) .

 

Then was having worries getting in to servers so i finally got in one and it was a first person server, Oh well.

But wow , its really amazing how the game changes, first thing you know about a zombie is that horrid sound as they run up near you. The whole dimension of the game changed and i kind of enjoyed it. Was in Berezino and well i got on a hospital roof and as i was running i fell through it and DEAD >:( . What tha????

 

So i started again further sth and ran back to the big B in the hope i was able to get my loot, sadly no :( .

I did manage to find a Marin back pack early on on a tray of a car and started filling it up.

I dont have any weapons apart from an axe but thats fine.

The 1st person is so much more difficult as you don't have the all round view , i can only imagine what it would be like if you could use the rift with it.

 

Learned a few more things which is always good. But when everyone spawns in one area, damn its hard to even do anything.

omg...went to a military camp on the east side...not only i didn't find anything but there are like at least 13 zombies..attacking me...I have at one time 4 chasing me! scary!

I spawned, i ran , i ran , i ran , nothing, would have died of starvation but i let a zombie do the act. Honestly there at least needs to be a ration pack cos if you land at a well landed spawn point what hope have you got at all.

 

Then i came back and had a decent amount of gear and got me a double barrel rifle. Some guy comes up and says put your hands up, i say
"no, you put yours up ". " im as sus of you as you are of me" , then he gets shot in the head from somewhere and i scuttle off, to die falling out of the ship in a glitch :P
