last i heard from an interview(don't recall which one) he did was that there won't be anything further than some more pre-made heads/skins you can choose from.

Then I really hope they will do a shitload of them. I don't like playing in a world of clones.

It's not like people wwill be running around in the exact same military gear using the exact same m4 with the exact same attachments..... oh wait

I wish they would stop adding horrible clothes (the chav track suit? really?) Instead they should add more shit that people would actually wear like scarves that tie around your neck, nice looking jackets that you can actually put on over normal shirts, more backpack types, weapon slings, kneepads, riot gear, etc.

Because in Eastern blocks i guess everyone wears terrible looking clothing choices. XD

have you seen what russian people wear in some of the lower class areas? I think they got the clothes looking just right in all honesty. The game just needs a bunch of old ladas with dashcams on standby

I hope item degradation will come to a point where those low tier clothes are actually useful as temporary choices.

Should be less common when more different clothes are added but may still happen. You skin/face is the only way to tell survivors apart without touching them. And thats why it should be reasonable complex - which means having significantly more skins/faces than maximum player count per server.

Because having as many possible faces as server slots and everyone choosing a skin/face at random still nets you a >25% chance of having clones that are virtually indistinguishable when wearing the same clothes. Having twice as many skins/face would still give you a >8% chance.

Having 5 skin tones, 4 eye colors, 5 hair colors and for each gender 2 head shapes, 3 noses and 3 mouths would reduce the chance of two random naked players meeting on a 500 slot server being clones below 1% if everyone got assigned a random character.

Don't really get close enough most of the time to see their beady little eyes

And when you do they're covered head to toe in clothes helmets glasses masks and bandannas.

I'm more interested in what's in their hands and back :)

I understand what they were trying to do, I guess. What you said makes sense. But if no one wears those shitty clothes what was the point in adding them? Why not add some post-apocalyptic style clothing that people would actually put on?

Right now (0.48 - not sure about 0.49) there is no point in using them as better clothes are quite common and even in badly damaged or ruined state they are still better than the weakest items (mainly because damaged items still keep their full storing space). If they change this low tier clothes would be a common fallback option just like you would use that P1 if your AKM is out of ammo or destroyed. So I think both types should be added and in fact the low tier civilian items should be the only ones easy to find - but maybe they could also serve as materials for crafting those post-apocalyptic clothes. Also of course - variety. Having lots of different items in every tier allows for better differentiation even over greater distances.

Now back to faces: If we got 40 slot servers the clone chance (two or more randomly picked players look exactly the same with the same clothes given faces are randomly - uniformly - distributed) drops below 1% at around 270 faces. Now 1% is my personal maximum clone chance (which I deem very high as 1:100 is significantly more than you have in other games) - not sure about the developers though. With 13 skins we got a ~82% clone chance which is way too much.

A wider variation especially in age would be great. No kids, but please not only people who look like 25-35. 50 year old people who could have served in a conflict. Not only trained and fit looking people. We need also corpulent people.

I know this it's going to be the laaaaaast thing in the list of things to do for the game.
But it would be nice, in order to customize as much as possible to feel there... I think it adds lots of our role in the game being able to "imagin us" there, looking exactly the way we want.

Also I imagin in a future future game, the chance of cutting your hair (like 3 types of lenght for example), the same goes with the beard maybe?

I know it sounds very "Sims", lol! but it would be cool.

I need a DeLorean!

A framework for easy import of faces or a character generator that produces believable faces with animation takes quite some effort so they better start early. At least with the designs. Then you can go over to step by step implementation during beta.

Speak for yourself, how am I supposed to play a Russian mobster with obrez if I don't have a tracksuit?

As for OP, I just want a beard, that's all.

Why we cant roam naked ? I had enaugh with that white vest and stupid pant. I want swim all naked

Nobody is stopping you :D

@Topic

I doubt there will ever be customization like we see in fallout and skyrim.

We will hopefully get a ton of different faces, hair types and skin colors, so making a "unique" character will be more feasible.

But i dont think it will get much more complex then that, and imho it doesnt matter in my world, because most of the gear people run around with, will cover 95% of the entire body, including the face.

I think with the weather implementation we definitely need to be allowed to wear a shirt, hoodie, and rain coat at the same time.

Like really I have to take my t-shirt off to put on a coat?
