Weird weapon shaking in 0.45

Recommended Posts

Stop sprinting everywhere. I noticed the movement and tested out by doing some sprinting and jogging. You need a few seconds not moving and its gone. I got a 700m kill at neaf last night with LRS . Works good IMO. Thing about this alpha, you're gonna have to adapt, or die whining and crying.

Even if you are not exhausted, it happens from time to time and its uncontrollable, and dont give me that "its realistic". No its not. I served and took shots under exhaustion. And even then it wasnt pure luck to hit a target being 200m afar, ESP when prone. Also how is it realistic that most of the time the sway just is left and right, and not up and down? It feels like the parameter for vertical sway was removed and added to horizontal. It makes no sense.

You can take a seat and chill out for 5 hours with a cocktail in your hand, it won't stop.

..//..

I fucking hate people on this forum.

..//..

There was a vehement campaign by a number of weapons people on this forum to replace the recently current bullet-strike mechanic with weapon sway.

The 'gun lobby' claimed that weapon sway would permit self-trained experienced serious gaming shooters (themselves) to honestly display their uber gun skills, giving them fair advantage over the 'casual mass' of players.

Perhaps their voice has been heard.

BIPOD WAS REMOVED LOLOLOL

YES EXCEPT FOR EXISTING MOSINS YOU BRAINIAC.

I fucking hate people on this forum. Stupid assertions and uninformed opinions, and only a tiny fraction of people responding to any thread. I heard Sacriel reported this issue too and deemed it unacceptable, hopefully his voice will be heard. I hear he knows Dean personally.

Freaking log in, pick up a LRS mosin and shoot an idle zombie at higher ranges, tell me how enjoyable it was.

OP your the asshole folks have told you whats wrong and given good data on how to fix weapon sway and you just rebuttal with none sense and flaming. why did you even post then just to troll or start an argument. your the ones who is ill informed you just said also in the thread that its been reported too incase its not broken arm or you not holding breath then what was the point of this again hmmmmmmmm. in the words of Walter shut the fuck up Donny.

I walked up to a guy with an M4 today headon, he couldn't hit me until i was 5 meters infront of him and he finally was able to shoot my legs. This is how bad the shaking is. I attacked a group of three guys with my axe, one of them with an axe too, two with a mosin and they failed to hit me. I took one mosin guy down and the axeguy killed my after that, I didn't take a single shot from the double mosins. All kills that I have witness have been done in below 60 meters.

gannon I suggest you actually take some battles. DID YOU try to shoot a zombie at 500 meters? Did you? How many shots did you take? Please report.

There was no good data, and I repeteatly told them and they told me "no you're just wrong because we say so". The shake does not seem to be consistent. Sometimes it stays there and sometimes it does not. Have you run a distance until you have heavy breathing, then crouched, go ironsights? Have you witness the insane shake then? Yea I know it's with heavy breathing, but its still beyond anything believable and can not be desired by the designers. And as I said before, I was prone, stationary, with a mosin. trying to take down a zombie at 500 meters and it took me 8 shots or so. The one that hit it was pure luck.

I wish my hardware was sufficient to record evidence. I would show you how I used two splints and the shaking persisted. You are just asserting that I am a liar. I have proven my integrity in another topic, if you can be arsed to read it: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/199839-per-hicks-battleeye-now-issuing-bans-for-those-who-deletealter-pbo-files/?p=2012308

resumee of that: I told people that the PBO file-cheater banning wasnt new, despite that Brian Hicks only reported it now. Some guy said I was lying, I told him I tried to manipulate the PBO files at the 5th of May because I was trying to kill wallglitchers and got instantly banned. He said i mustve been used a genuine hack, and that I would assert that Brian Hicks was lying to us. I told him though that I thought HIcks just told us the news late, or BEdevs didn't tell Hicks sooner. He still asserted I'm a liar (for no reason whatsoever, what would be my gain?) Finally BE dev Sable walked in and told him that I was right. Why do I tell you this? Because it shows my honesty. Ive revealed to everyone that I manipulated the PBO files (a bannable offense) just to tell them that the whole PBO file thingy is not new, and that you could infer from the evidence that they started banning PBOfile cheaters long ago (even without being banned yourself). I care for truth, not my reputation. So go ahead call me an asshole, but I'm an honest one.

Again, go take your 500 meter shots at zombies. And then please 800m ones. And tell me how well you controlled the shake. Also if your hardware can manage to record, I would appreciate that you show me in a vid how easily you handled that.

Also, the point of the topic is to bring attention to this problem.

(Edit: I just watched Sacriel http://www.twitch.tv/sacriel complaining about the same issue. He is a well known and good player and streamer. So if you don't believe me, watch his stream. If he closes the stream I can link the video if it goes to archive.)

It's terrible and unrealistic. I know I shoot 600m IRL...No rifle in the world sways like that when you have a bipod and a stable position.

And last I check when I'm running around with a rifle in my hand in RL it doesn't sway like a pendulum. Neither does it sway while looking left to right. Why cause it's in my damn hands that are attacked to my arms. Not rubber-bands.

Also a 600m shot with a 10x scope in IR is honestly easy ass hell as long as it's sighted in. An 18" tall target takes up 1/4 of my scope at the range. I might as well be using irons at 100 yards..

Overall terrible..Just my 2 cents...Arma has the closest your gonna get to a real sway even then its rubber band man time. When it's an option I turn that crap off. Along with head bob. My eyes naturally counteract head bob..

As for any shaking like when you have broken arm but don't pretty sure that's just a bug while prone. Noticed last night too. Happened when aiming downhill..

tested some more and...ugh...the sway seems controllable albeit a bit overdone. Tested with mosin*bipod/compensator * and with Holding breath it was fine so far.

I can only guess they ( hopefully ) implement Penaltys now for trying to aim if out of breath ect.

Red Orchestra has a good sysem for this so iam not too phazed about added sway. ( if only you could rest the weapon on windowsils, Corners ect...

Just wanted to say I LOVE the new sway, it can be perfected a bit but overall going in the right direction. I thought it would be super hard after the crying I saw, but I shot two bandits so far from pretty far distance. You just have to make sure not to run around a ton before and also take a few seconds break if needed from zooming in.

I realy hope they keep this in or work on it and not take it out totally just because some people find it to 'hard'

Exactly that is what I'm trying to tell those here who obviously never touched a gun in their lives before or had any kind of professional training. And before someone says the characters in DayZ don't have training also, this is a post apocalyptic world setting, POST. How did you think they survived so far without having the training or learned in the past to do what's necessary.

Also why does seem to be so hard to understand that we absolutly FOR realism and weapon shaking. just not in the extreme way it does now.

@blacklabel morphin OR holding your breath did nothing.

Does morphine still work to calm you down when shaking ? I shall commence a Test of this tonight.

Painkillers seemed to work for me. Oddly I only noticed the shaking after taking damage from zeds punching me.

Okay guys look. There is the normal shaking from broken arm/leg. I know how it looks and feels. And there is this new weird mostly horizontal shake of 0.45, It can't be cured by morphine, unlike the other shake. It also occurs rather randomly I must say, and it causes extreme shaking esp after running.

Thanks for the post, seems obvious in retrospect. Tore up tee-shirt and chopped some kindling to make a splint a fixed it straight away.

But you simply cant call this sway realistic. With an AKM and a placed bipod, it should be no problem to hold your aim steady. But after this patch, a hit at a range of 200m+ is pure luck... I understand that there is a realistic sway when standing or crouching, but with bipod? Doesnt make sense to me, hope they change it...

You are assuming the bipod affects the sway in any shape or form.

The bipod currently incorrectly just decreases dispersion it has no effect on weapon stability or sway.

No,because the biggest problem is Sable contradicted himself from previous posts made saying that there was zero BE could do about it..

Seeing how that was said did you see that there was another post from Sable..

No,like i said gamehack has zero to do with pbo files..

Trust me,its got to do with a exe or a stream from a dmr server that's loading hacks into the memory of your pc..

Never a file exploit, which doesn't require a exe or dmr stream...

It was just like Sable saying that all hacks where offline, which they havnt been....

I noticed that the M4 tends to have this much more rarely than any other weapon.

First off stuff that people claimed would help but really doing nothing at all: vitamins, morphin, splints, painkillers.

If you sprint you are way to soon out of breath.

I think I found part of the problem with weapon sway or maybe the main problem:

I noticed that, if I zoom in as much as possible with the lrs I have incredible high fps looking at some far distant points. When the fps are extremly high the weapon sway is fucking insane (I had around 120 fps). I started recording lokking at the same point and the fps dropped as low as 40 and suddenly the sway was nearly gone. So maybe that is not the mainreason but it effects me incredible hard. This is happening in 10/10 tests I made.

This also explains why some claim they have little problems while others have huge sway.

but even if this is correct for long distances the sway is still to high. also: the sway is the same on all distances/magnification so the longer the distance is the bigger the problem obviously

They always bring some feature with new patch which breaks the game. Before it was binoculars that eevryone waited and got half-assed horrible toy which can't be used in crouched or prone position. Now we have stupid weapon shaking just like with binoculars, which is game breaking.

I bet he understands just fine, but guess what. He is a human and wants to play. Everyone loving this game is upset about this shaking-thing. Some wait in silence, some wait being vocal.
