Running through NWAF find super huge backpack, plenty of ammo, nice guns, no M4 tho -_- been looking for a lifetime since its taken me around 2 weeks to find this fucking place anyway lol.

 

rummage through the hangars, see more hangar north, head up there, screen goes black "my leg is broken" "i am in severe pain" "you are dead"

 

respawn most south eastern place you can think of, grab some munch and a drink, head into streets, see "friendly" pretty much don't even head his way, bang bang bang "my leg is broken" sever pain, you are dead.

 

respawn near hospital, go in, guy with axe (i am unarmed) "you are dead"

 

respawn again, see police station find some good guns and shit, head up stairs

 

open the door

fall through the floor

everybody walk the dinosaur

"you are dead"

I've still had waay more friendly experiences than not. I don't get it, I guess people just love me ;) I gathered a group of like 10 people who were friendly, and we marched into Electro together. I can do wut I want bruh. #FRIENDLYYY

If you want a friendly experience then join a clan. A lot of great clans out there for you to team up with and explore the map. Otherwise this game is about survival and if I see somebody I feel is a threat I kill them. Just as I feel I would if it was real.

I usually meet friendly players and unfriendly groups.  Occasionally run through a hero clan, but most groups of 3 or more I avoid.

There are plenty of friendly people in the game, it's just most of them are pressing the respawn button after trying to make contact with another group or person, lol...

 

No but seriously there are friendlies out there, it's just a lot of people give into the whole, "Well I've been kos'd too much so I am now going to kos!" mentality and hopefully you can stay strong and even if you get shot up or beat to death, keep going on and be friendly to people who you meet.

Yesterday i ran across 2 people in a town, both friendly. The first i was about to hit casue fro ma distance i thougt he wasa zombie, e voice chatted an he said i don't want to shoot anyone. i agreed and we went seperate ways.

 

The next guy was on a new spawn, he was looking for a backpack i took him to one and was helping him get his bearing to find his friends in another town.

 

I did have my pistol in hand the whole time as things can change at any moment. If you don't want to die alot from other player, join low pop servers.

For sure.  If I'm at an Airfield, Police Station or other high weapon loot area, I'm either on a zero-pop server or ready to kill.  Not that I want to be, but twice when in I logged into NWAF, there was someone there (even on low-pop servers) and  they became un-avoidable firefights.

 

If I want to loot those areas alone, I do it on zero-pop servers.  And If I want to log into one of those places and move somewhere else, I do that in zero-pop servers as well.  If I have people with me, that's different.  I've found that if you're not willing to riskdeath once in awhile, the featureless Standalone stops being fun.

the few friendly players left, who never killed for pleasure or loot, are hiding. we are the shadows, we are the wind.

we understood that the only way to help people and survive is to stay hidden and put a bullet into a bandit's head from fair distance.

I've met friendlies at the FUCKING MILITARY CAMP AT NWAF.

 

They exist in this game. They're just rare.

But yeah, being friendly is probably the closest to russian roullette, you can get in DayZ. Nevertheless, I'm not too frustrated yet to start KOSing around, because if I'd behave like those I hate so much in that game, I'd be not a bit better. So I stay with my principles hoping some people out there do not pull the trigger out of paranoia.

I lost the faith, I've meet one friendly person who tried damn hard to save me from bleeding to death. Other than that no one has been friendly. So I keep low, check all my corners and scope from a distance. I have not turned though, I will not shoot people just because. I was on the shipwreck pistol in hand when I seen another person come onto the deck, I let them duck into the cabin and hide, I had done my looting so I bid them farewell and went on my way.

Love the game and I get people like to be dicks :) I guess I'm just to much of a nice guy that's why if the shit ever hit the fan in the real world I wouldn't last long lol.

thanks for the replies, it seems im getting by on medium pop servers rather than high/low

medium seems to be full of explorers who tend not to sit around the airfields, most of the time im avoiding them completely now and just sticking to the police stations, although the other night i found myself fully loaded out with the M4, Press Jacket, Big backpack, plenty of food/water, cooking pot, F Aid kit, 300 round box, 1911 engraved with plenty of ammo too.

 

i accidently clicked drink instead of clean wounds on my disinfectant spray and got sick, fell unconscious and logged out, logged in next day "new char" lol

Iv tried being nice to people, that got me killed alot or punched in the face, tried nice again with motorcycle helmet got punched less but axed more, now im cold to the plight of others in the game i see some kid with a broken leg calling for help maybe if im in a good mood ill shoot him in the face but 9 times out of ten ill walk away because most times its a trap set up by some bandits to lure heros into help then shoot them in the leg take thier pants and gear then leave them there to crawl away looking for zombies or to starve to death either way not pleasant.

Did you have a rather pretty camo mosin and a backpack full of M4 parts but no M4?

From my short experience so far (2 days), I managed to encounter 10 people, 2 of them immediately killed me, the rest of them were scared and just run away. I tend to never shoot first, and I always offer help to weaker players and they always decline.

Completely died laughing at this last night and woke my wife up. Anyway i wouldnt say there is no such thing as friendly. I've encountered a few people on my endeavours and the first guy just ran past. Second guy ran past shot a zombie that was chasing me and dissappeared into the night. (Thanks random stranger!). Third guy i met him at the power station while i was going down the ladders trying to get away from a super aggro zombie. He waved, I waved, He danced i went to stand up...Hit "V" on accident and hoped the railing falling to my death. Moral of that story is to not hit 2 keys at once lol. But i havent really met an aggressive player as of yet. Hope i dont, Have a lot of good gear.
